Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is to analyze the dynamics of teachers’ roles in the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum and to identify transformative efforts undertaken by teachers in responding to emerging challenges in contemporary educational practice. This research employs a qualitative method with a library research approach, in which data were gathered from academic books, indexed journals, official reports, and relevant scholarly publications, and subsequently analyzed using content analysis techniques. The findings indicate that the primary dynamics in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum include unequal levels of teacher understanding regarding the new learning paradigm, limited availability of media to support the Pancasila Student Profile Project (P5), and the rapid development of educational technology that is not accompanied by sufficient collaborative spaces for teachers. These conditions contribute to uneven learning quality, difficulties in carrying out project-based learning, and an increased adaptive burden for teachers. The study also identifies several transformative efforts, including strengthening teachers’ professional literacy, developing innovative and contextual learning media, and expanding community-based collaborative networks. In this context, BASAsulsel Wiki serves as a collaborative ecosystem that provides digital learning resources, facilitates cross-sector dialogue through Youth Conferences, and promotes public participation through Wikithon initiatives addressing educational and social issues. This study underscores the importance of multi-stakeholder collaboration in supporting educational transformation and highlights the need for adaptive ecosystems to foster learning that is innovative, inclusive, and socially responsive. Abstract

Divorce in the Balinese indigenous people is not only understood as the end of a conjugal relationship, but also as part of the social dynamics governed by customary law and the patrilineal kinship system. This research aims to understand divorce as a social process within the framework of Balinese customary law and examine the social dynamics experienced by women after divorce. The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation of women who have experienced divorce, and supported by information from families, communities, and traditional leaders. The results of the study show that the practice of divorce in Balinese customary law is not entirely in the personal realm, but involves social control through the family and customary institutions. Women tend to experience changes in social position, social pressure, labeling, and changes in social relations in the family, society, and with children after divorce. The social relations that are formed are not entirely equal, because women are in a more vulnerable position in the social structure. These findings show that customary law not only serves as a mechanism for conflict resolution, but also serves as a space for the reproduction of gender inequality in society. Abstract

Language ability in early childhood serves as an essential foundation for communication development. However, in learning practices, several obstacles are still encountered, such as children’s limited vocabulary mastery and the lack of variety in teaching methods. This study aims to examine the use of the song “Kalau Kau Suka Hati” in improving the language skills of early childhood learners at TK Al-Ikhtiar Riando. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study method. The research subjects consisted of 15 Group B children aged 5–6 years, while the informants included teachers, parents, and children. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and were then analyzed using an interactive analysis model. The findings indicate that the use of the song “Kalau Kau Suka Hati” was implemented through three stages: song exploration, reinforcement through movement, and language creativity development. The improvement in children’s language skills was reflected in the development of active vocabulary mastery, which initially ranged from 600–900 words and became more varied; increased speaking fluency; better understanding of sentence structures using the “if... then...” pattern; and greater confidence in self-expression. The song, which features repetitive lyrics, a cheerful melody, and concrete movements, proved effective in creating engaging and enjoyable multisensory learning. Therefore, “Kalau Kau Suka Hati” can be used as an effective learning medium to support the development of language skills in early childhood.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the use of picture card media in developing early writing skills among young children at TK Aisyiyah 1 Kota Bima. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The research subjects consisted of 12 group B children aged 5–6 years and two classroom teachers. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, which involves data reduction, data display, conclusion drawing, and verification. The findings indicate that picture cards were implemented through several stages, including media preparation, introduction of pictures and words, card-based play activities, guided writing practice, and reinforcement for children. Prior to the use of picture cards, children’s early writing skills were still in a low category. This was reflected in their limited ability to hold writing tools, trace shapes or letters, thicken dotted letters, imitate letters, write their own names, write short words, and express simple ideas in written form. After the implementation of picture card media, children’s early writing skills improved across all observed indicators. The children became more interested, active, confident, and able to connect pictures, letters, words, and written symbols in a more concrete way. Therefore, picture cards can be used as an effective alternative learning medium that is enjoyable, interactive, and appropriate to the developmental stage of early childhood.
