Abstract

Local organization and gender participation are two elements that have the significant role for the rural development plan. The objectives of the study are to describe the function and role of the local organizations as a media for participation, job allocation of men and women performed in rural development plan. A case study method was used with the key informants from the local organization committees, target group, and development facilitators. The data collected are the type and form women and men contribution, roles and functions of the local organizations in the rural development plan process, and the activity proposed by men and women. The study indicated that the involvement of men and women in the development plan process encourages community participation in rural development and generating a better development plan. Women have the significant role in the identification of problems and planning, primarily related to social and economic aspect affecting household activities, while men profoundly concern to public infrastructure affecting to economic activities. The involvement of men and women should be a necessity for every rural development because the proposed action planned is based on the local community needs.

Abstract

 Kesetaraan gender sebagai tujuan kelima pembangunan berkelanjutan telah ditentukan Perserikatan Bangsa-Bangsa melalaui laporan Voluntary National Review. Laporan rutin tersebut telah mencatat kemajuan setiap negara sebagai pencapaian SDGs yang kemudian sampaikan dalam forum politik tingkat tinggi Persatuan Bangsa-Bangsa. Rendahnya keterwakilan perempuan di ranah politik karena masih mengakar kuatnya budaya patriarki di sebagian besar masyarakat Indonesia. Cara pandang patriarki cenderung menempatkan perempuan di bawah kekuasaan laki-laki. Perempuan dicitrakan sekaligus diposisikan sebagai pihak yang tidak memiliki otonomi dan kemandirian di banyak aspek termasuk politik. Kehadiran perempuan di ranah politik praktis yang dibuktikan dengan keterwakilan perempuan di parlemen (afirmatif action) menjadi syarat mutlak bagi terciptanya budaya pengambilan kebijakan publik yang peka terhadap kepentingan perempuan. Minimnya keterwakilan perempuan di parlemen dalam jumlah yang memadai, kecenderungan untuk menempatkan kepentingan laki-laki sebagai pusat dari pengambilan kebijakan akan sulit dibendung. Itulah sebabnya upaya meningkatkan kapasitas kepemimpinan perempuan menjadi sebuah keharusan. Karena pada dasarnya pasrtisipasi perempuan yang diharapkan tidak sekedar soal jumlah tetapi tentu dibarengi dengan kualitas.. Abstract. Gender equality as the fifth goal of sustainable development has been determined by the United Nations through the Voluntary National Review report. These routine reports have recorded the progress of each country as the achievement of the SDGs which is then conveyed in the high-level political forum of the United Nations. The low representation of women in politics is due to the strong patriarchal culture in most Indonesian society. The patriarchal perspective tends to place women under the power of men. Women are imaged as well as positioned as parties who do not have autonomy and independence in many aspects, including politics. The presence of women in the realm of practical politics as evidenced by the representation of women in parliament (affirmative action) is an absolute requirement for the creation of a culture of public policy-making that is sensitive to women's interests. The lack of representation of women in parliament in sufficient numbers, the tendency to put men's interests at the center of policy making will be difficult to stem. That is why efforts to increase women's leadership capacity are a must. Because basically the expected participation of women is not only a matter of quantity but of course accompanied by quality.

Abstract

The Republic of Indonesia needs a mitigation system due to considering how vulnerable the archipelago to disasters. Compiled from The National Disaster Management Authority (BNPB) data in 2021, Indonesia will have to deal with 1,441 natural disasters in the period from January to June. This situation gets worse because until now Covid-19 is still high in various corners of the country. Various efforts in the context of handling the disasters have encountered obstacles that could slow down the recovery of the community. Indonesia's disaster management is still absent in playing its role. Therefore, it is necessary to optimize various aspects, including social and cultural capital as an important force. Natural disaster mitigation needs to be done by basing the wealth of cultural heritage, traditions and local wisdom. In addition to saving budget, mitigation models that use social power like this are more responsive so that prevention and recovery can be carried out earlier. This study aims to analyze and identify socio- cultural intervention as a disaster mitigation. This study uses a qualitative method with an explanatory descriptive approach. The data collection was done by using observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The result of this study indicates that disaster management in Indonesia is still spontaneous and does not optimize mitigation interventions in social and cultural aspects such as social networks and local wisdom values.  The socio-cultural intervention system is very realistic because local wisdom exists in every community in the archipelago. This is good for the community to respond to disaster problems.

Abstract

 AbstractCigarettes are rolled tobacco rolled or wrapped in paper, leaves or corn husks, the size of a little finger with a length of 8-10 cm, usually smoked by someone after burning the tip. In Indonesia, a new trend is now emerging, namely the use of electric cigarettes or vaporizers. Vaporizer is a simple tool that can deliver nicotine through a battery working system into the human body. Nicotine in various doses is inhaled by the user through a tube. Most vaporizers consist of some contents: a rechargeable lithium battery, an atomizer (which heats the liquid to create vapor), and a tube. The standard liquid product contains nicotine, propylene glycol, flavors, and water. This study aims to determine the motivation behind the use of conventional cigarettes and e-cigarettes among Sociology students at UNM, and to determine the social and health impacts felt by users of conventional cigarettes and e-cigarettes for UNM Sociology students. Abstract

Abstrak. Mitra Program Kemitraan Masyarakat (PKM) ini adalah UPT SPF SMP Negeri 41 Satu Atap Makassar yang berlokasi di Pulau Lae-lae, Kota Makassar. Masalahnya adalah: (1) masih rendahnya pemahaman guru mengenai Gerakan Literasi Nasional (GLN), utamanya Gerakan Literasi Sekolah, (2) Masih kurangnya kemampuan guru mengintegrasikan Gerakan Literasi Sekolah dalam pembelajaran. Sasaran eksternal adalah terwujdunya budaya literasi di sekolah mitra. Metode yang digunakan adalah: ceramah, demonstrasi, diskusi, dan tanya jawab. Hasil yang dicapai adalah (1) mitra memiliki memiliki pengetahuan dan pemahaman mengenai literasi, Gerakan Literasi Nasional (GLN), utamanya  Gerakan Literasi Sekolah beserta dimensi literasi yang terdapat di dalamnya., (2) mitra memiliki kemampuan dan terampil dalam mengintegrasikan Gerakan Literasi Sekolah, mulai dari pembuatan RPP hingga integrasi literasi dalam pembelajaran, (3) tim PKM menemukan masih terbatasnya jumlah buku bacaan koleksi perpustakaan mitra, sehingga menjadi salah satu faktor penghambat upaya membangun budaya literasi di sekolah. Kata kunci: literasi, integrasi literasi, Gerakan Literasi Nasional (GLN)

Abstract

Abstrak. Multikultural memiliki makna jamak dari kata dasar kultur. Secara etimologi, dalam bahasa Inggris disebut culture yang artinya budaya yang berasal dari kata Latin Colere, yaitu mengolah atau mengerjakan. Bisa diartikan juga sebagai mengolah tanah atau bertani. Dalam pemahaman Bahasa Indonesia, multikultur mengandung makna banyak kultur atau banyak budaya. Jika terminologi multikultur dilekatkan pada diri setiap individu, maka dapat dikatakan bahwa dalam setiap diri individu terdapat atau melekat banyak kutur. Beberapa kultur yang dimaksud antara lain: Bahasa, agama, suku atau etnis, ras dan asal daerah. Jadi bisa dipahami, setiap orang senantiasa melekat dan membawa kultur-kultur tersebut dalam dirinya. Ragam kultur yang ada dalam diri setiap individu perlu dikelola secara baik dan benar, melalui pendekatan multiculturalism of mind, multiculturalism of attitude, dan multiculturalism of skills .Kasus konflik sosial yang melibatkan asal daerah dan suku bangsa, yang terjadi belakangan ini, menunjukkan kepada kita semua bahwa persoalan pemahaman kebangsaan dan keragaman di Indonesia belum selesai. Multikulturalisme harus dikelola dengan baik, agar tidak menjadi sumber utama konflik dan perpecahan antar bangsa. Kesadaran akan pentingnya memahami masyarakat multikultural harus berkembang menjadi mindset setiap orang. Masyarakat Indonesia perlu memiliki kesadaran akan persamaan hak dari berbagai kelompok yang ada. Oleh karena itu, pendidikan multikultural harus terus ditanamkan pada seluruh lapisan masyarakat, khususnya pada generasi muda. Kata Kunci: pendidikan multikultural, konflik sosial

Abstract

This service aims to strengthen diversity awareness for students, especially those from Bone and Luwu districts in Makassar. This activity has a strong motivation considering the tendency of Bone and Luwu students to be involved in regional conflict cases some time ago. The method used is to provide insight strengthening in the form of discussion. The activity participants came from two student communities, namely Bone students and Luwu students. This activity took place in October 2022 offline at the IPMIBAR secretariat. The material presented includes national worldviews, and students' social and intellectual responsibilities, as well as the role of students in caring for national solidarity. This activity is expected to be a trigger for social and intellectual awareness for regional communities in caring for national solidarity. With this activity the service team also hopes to minimize conflicts that often occur among students

Abstract

Keterampilan sosial merupakan salah satu aspek penting bagi siswa, termasuk bagi siswa berkebutuhan khusus. Setiap siswa hidup secara sosial di dalam suatu masyarakat, termasuk bagi siswa berkebutuhan khusus. Hal tersebut menunjukkan siswa berkebutuhan khusus juga memerlukan interaksi dengan orang lain, seperti dengan teman sebaya. Oleh karenaitu,penanganananakberkebutuhankhusustidakterlepasdariperanseorangguru untuk memberikan dukungan dalam perkembangan kemampuan anak didiknya dalam berinteraksi sosialdenganmasyarakatluas.Akantetapi,banyakdiantaraparaguruyang kurang menyadari betapa pentingnya meningkatkan keterampilan sosial bagi siswa didiknyayangberkebutuhankhusus.Salahsatuupayayangdapatdilakukanuntukmembantu masalahtersebutadalahdenganmemberikanpelatihankepadagurudalamrangka membantu perkembangan anaknya. Luaran dari PKM ini adalah bertambahnya pengetahuandan informasi pada kelompok sasaran yaitu guru siswa berkebutuhan khusus. Diharapkan kegiatan yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengembangan keterampilan sosial bagi guruuntuk anak berkebutuhan khusus diharapakan setelah mengikuti pelatihan para guru dapat mengajarkannya ke anak didiknya sehingga mampu menigkatkan keterampilan berinteraksi, beradaptasi dan berpartisipasi aktif yang memang sangat dibutuhkan oleh anak berkebutuhan khusus dalam kehidupan pribadi dan sosial di lingkungan keluarga di sekolah dan masyarakat luas.Abstract.Social skills are an important aspect for students, including students with special needs. Every student lives socially in a society, including students with special needs. This shows that students with special needs also need interaction with other people, such as with peers. Therefore, the handling of children with special needs is inseparable from the role of a teacher to provide support in developing the ability of their students to interact socially with the wider community. However, many of the teachers are not aware of how important it is to improve social skills for students with special needs. One effort that can be done to help with this problem is to provide training to teachers in order to help the development of their children. The output of this PKM is an increase in knowledge and information for the target group, namely teachers of students with special needs. It is hoped that activities that aim to improve the development of social skills for teachers for children with special needs are hoped that after attending the training the teachers can teach them to their students so that they are able to improve the skills of interacting, adapting and actively participating which are really needed by children with special needs in personal and social life in family environment at school and the wider community.

Abstract

 Tujuan pelaksanaan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini adalah memberikan pemahaman kepada ibu-ibu istri nelayan mengenai keutamaan menjaga kebersihan untuk meningkatkan kualitas lingkungan sosial, serta memberikan keterampilan mengolah sampah organik menjadi eco-enzyme. Kegiatan PkM dilaksanakan dalam 6 tahap: 1) Tahap Persiapan; 2) Tahap Assesment; 3) Tahap Perencanaan Program atau Kegiatan; 4) Tahap Pemformulasian Rencana Aksi; 5) Tahap Pelaksanaan (Implementasi) Program atau Kegiatan; serta 6) Tahap Evaluasi. Hasil evaluasi kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa peserta sangat puas dengan pelaksanaan PkM dan berharap dapat dilanjutkan pada pelatihan pembuatan produk berbahan eco-enzyme

Abstract

The pervasive nature of drug abuse across various societal levels is deeply troubling, particularly its impact on students. Drugs, when introduced into the body, possess the ability to alter one's cognition and behaviour. This initiative is geared towards augmenting students' comprehension of drug varieties, associated risks, and effective preventive measures. The program took place at SMP Negeri 55 Makassar, utilizing lectures, discussions, and interactive Q&A sessions as its methodology. Engaging 58 students from the VIII and IX grades, this initiative was self-funded. The activity was executed successfully, eliciting a positive response, and achieving its intended objectives. There are plans for continual implementation in both the same and different locations to sustain this impactful service in the future.
