Abstract

Abstract

The aim of the study was to determine the feasibility of the module as a sub-material for the use of biodiversity for class X SMA. Using Research and Development (R&D) research methods with a qualitative descriptive approach. This study validated the instrument and validated the module teaching materials. The selection of validators with purposive sampling technique which consists of 5 validators. Module validation to obtain quantitative data accurately through a Likert scale. The assessment aspect of the module contains the feasibility of content, language, presentation, and graphics. The validation results obtained through the validator were analyzed using the CVR formula and continued to CVI, the results of the analysis of 4 aspects of the assessment namely the feasibility of content, language, presentation, and graphics consisting of 15 indicators of module feasibility assessment obtained a CVI value of 0.99 which is said to be a valid module and proper to use.The aim of the study was to determine the feasibility of the module as a sub-material for the use of biodiversity for class X SMA. Abstract

This study aims to determine the shape, color, and location of sori as well as the presence or absence of annulus in ferns (Pteridophyta) of the Polypodiaceae and Tectariaceae families in the Ato Watu Waterfall area, Amonggedo District, Konawe Regency, Southeast Sulawesi. The method used in this study was qualitative descriptive research with an exploratory method by exploring the Ato Watu Waterfall area to collect fern samples that had sori. The results of the study found six species of ferns in the Polypodiaceae family, including Drynaria quercifolia (L.), J, Lemmaphyllum accedens (Blume), Leptochilus henryi (Baker) X.C.Zhang, Microsorum membranifolium (R.Br.) Ching, Pyrrosia longifolia (Burm.fil.) C.V.Morton, Selliguea heterocarpa BI., FI. Jav (Mehltreter, et al., 2010: 835-838) And 5 species of ferns from the Tectriaceae family, including Tectaria angulata (Sw.) S. Chandra, Tectaria aurita (Sw.) S. Chandra, Tectaria barberi (Hook), Tectaria devaxa (Kze) Copel, Tectaria fuscipes (Wall. ex Bedd) C. Chr,. Of the 6 species of the Polypodiaceae family, 5 species of the Tectariaceae family found, they have different sorus characteristics, and each species has an annulus (Shin & Keun, 2017: 317-320).

Abstract

Abstract

Problem-solving skills are essential competencies in 21st-century learning, especially in Biology. However, Indonesian students still demonstrate low abilities in solving scientific problems due to passive, teacher-centered learning approaches. This study aims to examine the effect of the Levels of Inquiry learning model integrated with Socio-Scientific Issues (SSI) on students’ problem-solving skills at SMA Negeri 1 Mempawah Hilir and to determine which level of Levels of Inquiry has the most significant impact. This research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a 3-factor pretest-posttest design, involving three levels: Discovery Learning, Interactive Demonstration, and Inquiry Lesson. A total of 108 students were selected through purposive sampling. The instrument used was an essay test on problem-solving skills, and the data were analyzed using normality and homogeneity tests, one-way ANOVA, and Post Hoc Scheffe tests. The results showed improvement across all groups, with the highest N-Gain in the Inquiry Lesson group (0.83), followed by Interactive Demonstration (0.76), and Discovery Learning (0.67). ANOVA indicated significant differences among the groups (p = 0.001). The Post Hoc Scheffe test revealed significant differences between Discovery Learning and Interactive Demonstration (p = 0.036) and between Discovery Learning and Inquiry Lesson (p < 0.001), but no significant difference between Interactive Demonstration and Inquiry Lesson (p = 0.472). These findings suggest that the Inquiry Lesson integrated with SSI is more effective in enhancing students' problem-solving skills.
