Abstract

The 96% ethanol extract of Balik angin stem bark contains secondary metabolite compounds that have potential antioxidant activity with a value of 37.00 ± 1.46µg/ml (bpj), the potential for use can be maximized in microemulsion preparations. In microemulsions, one of the ingredients that can affect the stability of the microemulsion is a cosurfactant which can affect the globule size and polydispersity index. Microemulsions were formulated by varying the type and concentration of cosurfactants to determine the optimal formula based on the test parameters of physical characteristics and stability of the preparation. The method used in this research is experimental and in the manufacture of microemulsions, namely the spontaneous emulsification method. The test results show that all formulas in the organoleptic test are clear except F1, the Tyndall test can transmit light, the pH value is 5.4 -5.6, the microemulsion type is M/A, the specific gravity is 1.038-1.064, the viscosity value is less than 200 cPs and the percent transmittance obtained ranges from 90-97%. The globule size test of F2 to F6 (55.03-1045) and the polydispersity index test of F2 to F6 (0.277-0.827), but the results were not detected in F1. The results of statistical tests on pH and specific gravity tests obtained p-value (>0.05), F3 viscosity test obtained p-value (<0.05) and T% test on F1, F4, and F5 obtained p-value (<0.05) so it can be concluded that microemulsion preparations with variations in the type and concentration of cosurfactants have an influence on physical characteristics and stability, and the most optimal formula is F6.

Abstract

Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM) berperan strategis dalam perekonomian Indonesia, namun masih menghadapi kendala dalam pengelolaan dan pelaporan keuangan yang berdampak pada keterbatasan akses pembiayaan. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini ialah meningkatkan kemampuan pelaku usaha mikro dalam menyusun laporan keuangan yang akuntabel sesuai Standar Akuntansi Keuangan Entitas Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (SAK EMKM). Metode kegiatan dilaksanakan pada tujuh pelaku usaha mikro sektor kuliner di Kota Banjarbaru melalui tahapan sosialisasi SAK EMKM, pelatihan pencatatan keuangan menggunakan Microsoft Excel/Google Spreadsheet, serta pendampingan intensif selama tiga bulan disertai evaluasi berkala. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan pada kualitas pencatatan dan pelaporan keuangan mitra. Seluruh mitra mampu menyusun laporan posisi keuangan dan laporan laba rugi sesuai SAK EMKM, meskipun penyusunan jurnal penutup dan Catatan atas Laporan Keuangan (CALK) belum sepenuhnya optimal. Dari kegiatan ini disimpulkan bahwa pendampingan berbasis teknologi sederhana efektif meningkatkan literasi dan keterampilan pelaporan keuangan pelaku usaha mikro serta berpotensi mendukung akses pembiayaan dan keberlanjutan usaha.

Abstract

Background: Acne is an inflammatory condition of the pilosebaceous unit involving infection by Cutibacterium acnes. Ramania leaves (Bouea macrophylla) contain flavonoids, saponins, and tannins with known antibacterial properties. Objective: This study aimed to formulate a methanolic extract gel of Ramania leaves and evaluate its physical and organoleptic qualities as well as its antibacterial activity against C. acnes. Method: The extract was obtained via maceration and formulated in a carbopol-based gel with concentrations of 5%, 7.5%, 10%, 15%, and 20%. Physical evaluations included organoleptic testing, homogeneity, pH, viscosity, adhesiveness, and spreadability. Antibacterial activity was tested using the well diffusion method. Results: showed all gel formulas met standard physical and organoleptic criteria. The 5% extract gel demonstrated the largest inhibition zone against C. acnes (22.8 mm ± 2.06). Concentrations above 10% showed decreased effectiveness, likely due to saturation or physical instability. Conclusion: The 5% Ramania leaf extract gel is the most effective and stable formulation for topical anti-acne application

Abstract

Chronic wounds pose a significant healthcare challenge in Southeast Asia, with prevalence rates reaching 50.8%. Conventional systemic therapies often fail due to persistent inflammation and bacterial biofilm formation. This study presents a novel approach that combines chitosan, a hydrophilic scaffold that maintains optimal moisture and prevents microbial contamination, with Ageratum conyzoides, which is rich in flavonoids with anti-inflammatory and pro-proliferative properties. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of chitosan combined with A. conyzoides in a hydrogel patch formulation on wound healing as a comprehensive approach to the TIME (Tissue, Inflammation, Moisture, Epithelization) concept. The standardized plant material was formulated into patches by a solvent‐casting method using three extract‐to‐chitosan ratios: F1 (2:0), F2 (1:1), and F3 (2:1). Evaluation encompassed physical characterization, acute dermal irritation, and wound‐healing activity assessment. Plant material met the Indonesian Herbal Pharmacopeia standards, yielding 9.96 ± 0.10% total flavonoid content, with phytochemical screening confirming flavonoids, phenolics, and quinones. All formulations demonstrated favorable physical characteristics: thickness of 0.08–0.11 mm, folding endurance of 64–479 folds, and moisture absorption of 6.12–9.39%, with no acute dermal irritation observed in rabbits. In a 14-day linear incision wound model using male Wistar rats, F3 achieved superior healing efficacy (97% closure, rate constant 0.2972 day⁻¹), reaching 90% closure by day 7.75, significantly outperforming the positive control (Bioplacenton®, 89%) and negative control (79%). These results highlight F3's synergistic effects via anti-inflammatory and proliferative mechanisms, following first-order kinetics and comprehensively addressing the TIME framework to enhance wound healing.

Abstract

Clay mask merupakan kosmetika berbahan dasar kaolin dan bentonite yang dapat menyerap kotoran dan kelebihan minyak di kulit, sedangkan daun manga kasturi memiliki aktivitas antioksidan yang dapat digunakan sebagai perawatan kulit. Konsentrasi dari kaolin dan bentonit yang dapat berpengaruh terhadap karakteristik sediaan clay mask. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui formula manakah yang menghasilkan sediaan clay mask etanol 96% daun manga kasturi (Mangifera casturi Kosterm) yang paling optimal berdasarkan variasi dengan memvariasikan konsentrasi kaolin dan bentonite dalam formula sediaan F1 (50:2), F2 (49:2,5), F3 (48:3), F4 (47:3,5), F5 (46:4), F6 (45:4,5). Masker dibuat dengan variasi konsentrasi kaolin dan bentonite. Pengujian sediaan meliputi organoleptis, homogenitas, pH, daya lekat, daya sebar, waktu mongering, viskositas, dan stabilitas. Karakteristik sediaan clay mask ekstrak etanol 96% daun mangga kasturi (Mangifera casturi Kosterm) dengan variasi konsentrasi kaolin dan bentonit pada F1 sampai F6 bberdasarkan uji organoleptis berwarna hijau muda, konsistensi F1, F2, F5 kental, F3, F4 dan F6 sangat kental, berbau khas lavender dan sediaan homogen, nilai dengan rentah pH 5,85-6,42, viskositas berkisaran 8000-119.113 cPs, daya sebar berkisaran 4,5-7,4 cm, dan daya lekat nilai berkisaran 1,21-3,27, waktu mengering nilai berkisaran 19.24-23.11 menit. Formula 3 dengan konsentrasi kaolin 48% dan bentonit 3% merupakan formula optimum karena menunjukkan karakteristik fisik yang memenuhi persyaratan dan stabil pada pengujian sebelum dan setelah cycling test
