Abstract

Seafood provides essential nutrients beneficial for human health; however, it is highly vulnerable to harmful bacterial infections that pose significant public health risks. This research seeks to assess the prevalence of five categories of seafood obtained from various traditional fish markets in Bali Province. A total of 108 tuna samples, 78 pelagic fish samples, 37 cephalopod samples, 14 sardine samples, and 53 demersal fish samples were collected from various traditional markets in Bali Province. This research evaluated the prevalence of E. coli, coliforms, Salmonella, V. cholerae, and V. parahaemolyticus. The study revealed that the highest prevalence of E. coli, coliform, and V. parahaemolyticus contamination in tuna samples was 95 (87%), 95 (87%), and 103 (95%), respectively. The study indicated that E. coli and coliforms were present in 73 of the 78 pelagic fish samples, representing 93% contamination. Sardine samples exhibited the lowest prevalence of bacteria. All seafood samples, however, tested negative for Salmonella and V. cholera. PCR products from E. coli and V. parahaemolyticus isolates were effectively amplified for the target genes utilized in this study. Local seafood markets should adopt appropriate handling and storage practices to enhance seafood quality. This study emphasizes the significant presence of E. coli, coliforms, and V. parahaemolyticus in seafood, along with the potential health risks posed by specific strains and their antibiotic resistance.

Abstract

Banjar Pukuh administratively located in Tiga Village, Susut District, Bangli Regency. Pukuh located in a highland area with temperatures suitable for agricultural areas. Most of the Pukuh Village community currently works in the agricultural sector by cultivating rice fields to produce rice and secondary crops. Besides these two commodities, Pukuh Village also very suitable forplantations such as citrus fruit which is a mainstay commodity in the economy of people in Banjar Adat Pukuh. Residents of the Banjar Adat Pukuh have a unique and traditional of building residential houses where the community will build houses on the east side and abstain from building houses on the west side of the road. This is one of the unique things about this village and not widely people known. The challenges faced by partners in preparing Banjar Pukuh as a tourist village are that they do not have knowledge about ecotourism activities, they do not have knowledge about landscaping areas for ecotourism activities, partners do not have knowledge about how to inventory animals biodiversity and partners do not have knowledge and skills regarding organic waste management. The solution to this partner problem is to provide assistance in the form of providing socialization and improving skills by conducting training. The results of this mentoring activity are an increase in partners' knowledge regardingtourism villages by 85%, an increase in knowledge related to socialization regarding how to inventory animals, partners'understanding has increased by 90%, an increase in knowledge related to socialization regarding processing pig waste, an increase in knowledge by 90% and skills. processing of pig manure waste by 80%.

Abstract

Budidaya rumput laut Eucheuma cottonii di wilayah perairan Nusa lembongan sudah semakin berkembang sejak tahun 2020. Selain dikenal sebagai daerah pariwisata, Nusa Lembongan juga memiliki daya tarik lain yaitu sentra budidaya rumput laut. Rumput laut Eucheuma cottonii dikenal memiliki banyak manfaat dan kasiat salah satunya sebagai imostimulan alami. Selain itu keragenan yang dihasilkan rumput laut Eucheuma cottonii memiliki potensi besar digunakan dalam berbagai bidang baik itu untuk industri pangan dan non-pangan termasuk bidang kesehatan. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif eksploratif dengan mengumpulkan informasi dari berbagai literatur penelitian terdahulu, baik dari jurnal nasional maupun internasional serta database online seperti Researchgate, Google Scholar, dan Direktori Jurnal Akses Terbuka. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa komponen aktif rumput laut Eucheuma cottonii mengandung alkaloid, saponin, steroid, flavonoid, dan tanin yang sangat bisa berperan dalam bidang kesehatan. Selain itu rumput laut Eucheuma cottonii juga memiliki aktivitas antioksidan dan kandungan karbohidrat yang tinggi dalam berat kering sehingga dapat dikembangkan dalam bidang pangan fungsional.
