Abstract

This research method uses a quantitative approach and the type of research is a quasi-experiment. The research design used is a quasi-experiment with a 2 x 2 factorial with a 2-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) technique. This test validation sheet consists of three components, namely content, construction, and language use. The data analysis technique used in this study is the inferential statistical technique. Hypothesis testing in this study was carried out using the analysis of variance (ANOVA) test with a 2 x 3 test and a significance level of 0.05. Before the ANOVA test was carried out, the analysis requirements test was first carried out, namely the normality test and the data homogeneity test. This study is a quasi-experimental study by comparing the mathematical communication skills of students taught with a realistic mathematical approach compared to the mathematical communication skills of students taught with ordinary learning. In addition, this study also looks at the comparison of students' mathematical communication skills based on the level of emotional intelligence possessed by students, while the data on students' emotional intelligence was obtained through an emotional intelligence questionnaire given during the study.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low mathematics learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 106232 Penggalangan, which are believed to stem from weak critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The purpose of this research was to evaluate the effectiveness of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in enhancing these two competencies. A quantitative approach was employed using a quasi-experimental method, involving two groups: an experimental class taught using the PBL model and a control class receiving conventional instruction. A total of 42 students were selected as samples through total sampling from both classes. The research instruments consisted of validated tests measuring critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Data were analyzed using a two-way ANOVA test. The findings revealed a significant difference between the two groups, with students in the experimental class demonstrating higher levels of critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Furthermore, an interaction was found between the learning model and students’ initial mathematical ability in influencing learning outcomes. The study concludes that the Problem Based Learning model is effective in improving elementary school students’ critical thinking and problem-solving skills and can serve as an innovative instructional strategy

Abstract

The aim of this research was to develop a Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) Model integrated with Batak ethnoculture and to test its effectiveness in improving the reading literacy of elementary school students. This study was necessary because of the students' low reading literacy levels and the lack of connection between teaching materials and the students' local and cultural context, which can hinder understanding. This development research used the Plomp model. The analysis phase included questionnaires and interviews to identify curriculum needs and relevant Batak ethnocultural richness. The CTL model based on Batak ethnoculture was designed as a learning package, including the syllabus, lesson plans (RPP), and teaching materials that featured folktales and Batak values. To test effectiveness, a quasi-experimental design was used. This involved an experimental group using the Batak ethnoculture-based CTL model and a control group using a conventional teaching model. Data was collected through reading literacy tests (comprehension, interpretation, and reflection) and student/teacher response questionnaires. The results showed that the developed Batak ethnoculture-based CTL Model met the criteria for validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The average scores on the reading literacy test for the experimental group were significantly (p<0.05) higher than those of the control group.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' mathematics learning outcomes through the application of an Inquiry-Based Learning model assisted by a Flipped Classroom based on student learning independence at UPT SPF SD Negeri 101807 Candirejo. The main problem in this study is the low mathematics learning outcomes caused by a lack of independent learning activities and teacher-centered learning. Through a combination of Inquiry-Based Learning and Flipped Classroom, it is hoped that students can be more active, independent, and have a better conceptual understanding. This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a randomized pretest-post test control group design. The research subjects consisted of two classes, namely the experimental class that received treatment with the Inquiry-Based Learning model assisted by the Flipped Classroom and the control class that used conventional learning. Data were collected through mathematics achievement tests and learning independence questionnaires. The results showed that there was an increase in the mathematics achievement of students taught with Inquiry-Based Learning assisted by the flipped classroom compared to conventional learning with a sig value < 0.05, namely 0.000.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to improve mathematical problem solving ablity with realistic approach in the students of grade VIII at SMP Negeri 2 Tebing Tinggi. The design of this research is Class Action Research (PTK) that consists of 2 cycles. The material used in this research is probability material. The object of this research is students' mathematical problem solving ability by applying realistic approach to probability material. The subject ini this research were 36 students of grade VIII-7 at SMP Negeri 2 Tebing Tinggi. The results of this research are: (1) In the initial test, only 1 student (2,2%) achieved the classroom mastery and the average score of students’ ability is in the very low category. (2) In the Cycle I, there was an improvement, with 18 students (50%) achieved the classroom mastery and the average score of students’ ability is 64,5 with a level of ability in the low category. (3) In the Cycle II, there was further improvement, with 32 students (88,9%) achieved the classroom mastery and the average score of students’ ability is 83,1 with a level of ability in the high category. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of realistic approach can improve the mathematical problem solving ability

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of a realistic mathematics approach on student learning outcomes and to determine whether students' mathematics learning outcomes who are given a realistic mathematics approach achieve the minimum completeness criteria, namely 75. Learning outcomes are defined as a measure of students’ success in mastering school subject, expressed in scores obtained from test results. The study was conducted at SMP Negeri 2 Sunggal in the 2025/2026 academic year using a quasi-experimental method with a purposive sampling technique. The research sample was class VIII-1 as the experimental class, and class VIII-2 as the control class. The results showed that there was a significant increase in the learning outcomes of students in the experimental class, with an average pretest score of 39.37 and a posttest score of 79.58, in the control class the average pretest score was 40.83 and a posttest score of 72.91. Based on the results of data analysis using a one-way t-test on the difference between the two means, it is known that the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected. This means that there is a significant difference between the learning outcomes of students taught using the Realistic Mathematics Approach and conventional learning. The mathematical learning outcomes of students taught using the Realistic Mathematics Approach are better than those taught using conventional learning. The results of this study show that the percentage of classical graduation of students who achieved a minimum completeness criterion score of 75 who were treated with the Realistic Mathematics Approach was 80% and the percentage of classical graduation of students who achieved a minimum completeness criterion score of 75 who were treated with conventional learning was 53.3%. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendekatan matematika realistik terhadap hasil belajar siswa dan untuk mengetahui hasil belajar matematika siswa yang diberi pendekatan matematika realistik mencapai kriteria ketuntasan minimal yakni 75. Hasil belajar adalah ukuran tingkat keberhasilan siswa dalam mempelajari materi pembelajaran di sekolah yang dinyatakan dalam skor yang diperoleh dari hasil tes. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 2 Sunggal pada tahun ajaran 2025/2026 dengan metode quasi eksperimen dengan teknik pengambilan sampel adalah teknik purposive sampling. Sampel penelitiannya adalah kelas VIII-1 sebagai kelas eksperimen, dan kelas VIII-2 sebagai kelas kontrol. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan yang signifikan pada hasil belajar siswa kelas eksperimen, dengan rata-rata skor pretest  39,37 dan skor posttes 79,58, pada kelas kontrol  rata-rata skor pretest 40,83 dan posttest 72,91. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data menggunakan uji-t satu arah terhadap perbedaan dua rata-rata, diketahui bahwa hipotesis nol (H0) ditolak. Artinya terdapat perbedaan yang signifikansi antara hasil belajar siswa yang diajar menggunakan Pendekatan Matematika Realistik dengan pembelajaran biasa. Hasil belajar matematis siswa yang diajar menggunakan Pendekatan Matematika Realistik lebih baik dibandingkan siswa yang diajar dengan pembelajaran biasa. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan persentase kelulusan klasikal siswa yang mencapai nilai kriteria ketuntasan minimal 75 yang diberi perlakuan dengan Pendekatan Matematika Realistik  adalah sebesar 80% dan persentase kelulusan klasikal siswa yang mencapai nilai kriteria ketuntasan minimal  yang diberi perlakuan dengan pembelajaran biasa adalah sebesar 53,3%.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the transformation of learning in primary schools (SD) using game-based media to enhance student activities interactively. Game-based media is applied to a variety of subjects with stages designed to facilitate 21st century skills. This research uses qualitative methods to identify the impact, benefits in reducing student anxiety and boredom, and constraints in implementation. Results show that game-based media can increase student engagement interactively. Game-based media can be used in various subjects, providing a more enjoyable learning experience, facilitating better interaction, offering more interesting and dynamic learning for students, reducing anxiety and boredom, and facilitating 21st century skills, named by Critical thinking, Creativity, Collaboration, Communication. Despite the challenges of limited infrastructure and teacher training, the potential of gaming media is huge in creating a more effective learning experience. Further development is expected to overcome these obstacles by strengthening technological support and pedagogical training for teachers.

Abstract

Teaching materials play a crucial role in facilitating and enhancing the creativity and independence of elementary school students. P5 teaching materials refer to learning materials designed to support the Project-Based Learning (PBL) approach. This approach prioritizes project-based learning where students are directly involved in projects that require them to complete complex tasks and connect to real-world problems. This research is a systematic review research with the aim of determining the effectiveness of P5 teaching materials in increasing the independence and creativity of elementary school students. Searches for journal articles were carried out through the Publish or Perish application found in the Google Scholar electronic database with the keyword project to strengthen the profile of Pancasila students. The initial search found 322 journal articles, after being reviewed by inclusion, 7 journal articles were found to be reviewed systematically. The results of the systematic review found that from several articles reviewed it was found that the development of P5 teaching materials, especially in increasing student creativity and independence, had not yet been worked on much by researchers. It becomes something important if this is used as a study to provide more insight and new views in developing comprehensive teaching materials in overseeing every student learning activity
