Abstract

Lengger Giyanti Mask Art Wonosobo is a popular traditional art that is full of noble cultural values ​​that exist in the lives of its people. Art that develops in the communities around the Dieng mountains is inseparable from spiritual and religious values, whose teachings are conveyed in the form of Javanese community symbols. The purpose of this research is to analyze the Javanese cultural values ​​that exist in Wonosobo's Lengger Giyanti Mask. This study uses a type of qualitative research. Data collection techniques are carried out by interviews, direct observation and document study. The collected data is then analyzed inductively through the stages of reduction, data presentation, and verification.The results showed that the Lengger Giyanti Mask show, Wonosobo Regency always gave rise to Javanese cultural values. Cultural values ​​expressed in Mask Lengger in Giyanti Village, Wonosobo Regency generally have cultural values, namely values ​​about norms or rules while in values ​​related to Javanese culture are divided into 3 namely (1) cosmologically, contained in Sulasih mask dance, which invites gods and goddesses and ancestors to come to the performance; (2) in symbolic classification, each mask has a representation of basic human characteristics; and (3) in the orientation of the life of the Javanese people, in the mask art of Lengger there are symbols or implied messages, namely dance pangeling or reminder (advice).

Abstract

Creative process is a process on how an artwork created through a physiological and psychological process. All of the art creators, including children, have their own different way to create artworks. This research was held to analyze an art creative process of Indonesian Children in the Student’s National Collective Painting Competition in 2018. This research was held in Indonesian National Gallery at Jalan Medan Merdeka Timur No. 14, Gambir, RT.6/RW.1, Gambir, Central Jakarta. The approach of this research is cultural approach with phenomenology research design. The technique of data collection was observation, interview, and documentation. The data validity was done through; a) reflection through an experience observed; b) asking an opinion from colleagues or other researchers; c) rational analysis by beating out whether a phenomenological description from the whole subjective meanings of are logic or not. The data analysis was done through four steps, the first is data grouping, second is reduction and elimination of data. Third, giving the occurring data from the reduction stage and then named. Fourth, the data identification stage. The results show that the painting creative process of children shows the highest creativity process, it is a conclusion from the whole creative process that are achieved from painting. The art competition should not only see only from the result, but also from the process so the children are not trapped in aesthetic matter, but process is also becomes a determining part in building creative ideas. The museum institution, like Indonesian National Gallery should see more on the children’s honesty in painting, therefore type haptik painting is still can be found in the collective painting competition.

Abstract

Wayang klitik is one of the traditional performances that are sacred as a means of bersih sendang ceremonial which is still sustainable today in Wonosoco Village, Undaan District, Kudus Regency. The purpose of this research is to examine the form of puppets and their functions in the bersih sendang ceremony. This study uses qualitative methods with interview data collection techniques, observation and document study. The data validity technique is based on credibility criteria, using data triangulation . Analysis of data is done through data collection, data reduction , data presentation, and data verification. The results of the study, regarding the shape of the wayang klitik made of flat wood formed according to the puppet character, carved and colored with simple decorative techniques, the puppet groups can be distinguished from face color , face shape , accessories, and body position. Wayang klitik in the bersih sendang ceremony has three functions, they are a personal function, a social function and a practical physical function. Personal function as a form of expression wayang klitik maker from realize his idea, social function as a means of rituals in the bersih sendang ceremony, entertainment exciting, educational media to the public, means of communication to God and dhanyang village, and physical function wayang klitik as props/puppets that portray the characters in the story that are playing.

Abstract

Ki Hadjar Dewantara is a nationalist figure who express his thoughts in education field. Many of his thoughts reflect the existence of a humanist perspective that assume humans as important subjects. This study aims to analyze the humanistic values found in the art of learning at SMP Taman Adults Jetis, Yogyakarta. This study uses qualitative methods with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. The data analysis uses data reduction procedures, data presentation, and drawing conclusions (verification). The validity of the data used was a triangulation technique which included triangulation of sources and techniques. The results showed that there were humanistic values in the art of learning which included the following values: (1) solidarity; (2) tolerance; (3) freedom; (4) respect and love, and (5) justice and equality. Based on the results of the research, the researcher can provide suggestions as a material for consideration, so that SMP Taman Dewasa Jetis continued to improve discipline in implementing Ki Hadjar Dewantara's thought-based education, improve work skills for art teachers and students as well as develop teaching materials, methods, and media used.

Abstract

Coastal eco-culture- based learning of ornamental variety on is still very rarely to be carried out. This study aims to describe the visual form of decorative images for grade VII-A SMPN 18 Semarang, as a result of coastal eco-culture-based virtual creative learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study uses a qualitative method. The collecting data was conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data transfer techniques was conducted through triangulation techniques. The data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Coastal eco-culture-based decorative images created by grade VII-A students of SMPN 18 Semarang were influenced by the natural and cultural aspects of the coastal areas typical of Semarang City. The form of decorative images namely Tugu Muda, Blenduk Church, Warak Ngendok, Blekok Srondol, marine life, typical coastal sea waves, there were even food motifs namely spring rolls. The colors used look bright which is identical to the typical color of the coast. In writing this article, the author identifies the visual elements of various shapes and colors decorated by students of grade VII-A SMPN 18 Semarang. Details of problems developed by adapting theory visual elements by Marvin Bartel, namely the analysis of visual elements of shapes and colors of motifs that are often used and emerged so that it became the initial identity of decorative motifs. So that the visualization resulting conclusions are in the form of basic shapes and colors that characterize decorative images of students in grade VII-A SMPN 18 Semarang, as a result of coastal eco-culture-based virtual creative learning. Furthermore, it can be concluded that the coastal eco-culture-based learning of decoration has positive implications in order to build creative capacity and cultural awareness of students.

Abstract

The existence of metalcraft in Tumang village which still exists until now has become part of the life of the local community there. This makes the metalcraft as a cultural product. It means that the metalcraft have a certain place in the social production, circulation, and consumption. This study aims to analyze the establishment of cultural products of metalcraft in Tumang village. This study used a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The data analysis was carried out after the data collection. The data collection was conducted by observation, interviews, and document studies. The data analysis used phenomenological model analysis. The results of this study indicate that the characteristics of Tumang metalcraft can be seen through its manufacturing technique, namely mbabar process.The cultural production in Tumang metalcraft was formed from the meeting of several agents. The meeting of agents is controlled and supported by habitus, capital, and strategy so that they can compete in the field of cultural production. Through this competition, the agents who have strong capital will maintain their social positions so that they become the dominating party. Meanwhile, the agents whose capitals are weak or dominated will struggle by means of resistance. The resistance is done by creating a new view of the world so that they can struggle in the production field of Tumang metalcraft.

Abstract

The condition of Covid-19 pandemic in the educational sector has made the learning activities cannot be conducted face-to-face as usual and the educational institutions such schools are closed in accordance with the government regulation. However, the learning condition cannot stop although the schools are closed temporarily. Teachers need to adapt with the condition and implement the innovation based on the digital development by utilizing various digital devices that can be used for the learning activity to cultivate the character values to the students. This research aims to describe and analyze the teacher’s innovation in the digital-based innovative learning during the music subject with the purpose of cultivating the students’ character values in SMA Negeri 1 Bumiayu during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research used qualitative method with the educational anthropology, musicology, and technology & communication approach. The process of data collection is conducted through observation, interviews, and literature study. The data analysis is conducted through three activities by Miles and Huberman, namely data reduction, data display, and conclusion. The results of the research show that the digital-based innovative learning model of music subject can be used to cultivate the character value of the students through the digital devices which are used during the online learning activity of music subject both theoretically and practically in the form of appreciation and creative activities. The material taught is innovated through the help of digital devices as the stimulus to raise the students’ awareness as well as cultivate the character values which will give positive impact on the success of the character values.

Abstract

The creative process in formulating the background concept of work carried out by an artist with various new and unique works sometimes gets less appreciation, even though there are many new ideas that need more attention. This study examined the motivation and creative process of Nanang Garuda in creating Wayang Pulau (a traditional puppet from Indonesia). The research approach used descriptive qualitative methods in the form of field research at the Garuda House Museum. Data collection used observation, interviews, documentation and recording. The validity technique used triangulation of data sources. Data analysis used data collection, reduction, presentation, and verification. The results of the study are as follows. First, Nanang Garuda always creates unique works. His work motivation is his love for Garuda bird with the vision and mission of reviving and rebranding the Garuda which is currently being forgotten by many Indonesians. The stages of the creative process carried out by Nanang Garuda are in the form of preparing to collect information on various problems regarding Indonesianness. The incubation of ideas is done by looking for answers based on Googling and books. The illumination stage is carried out by visualizing the idea into a work. Lastly, the verification stage is done by evaluating each completion of the work and at the end of the wayang show. The researcher's suggestion is that Nanang Garuda's hard work and dedication should always be used as an example of enthusiasm in spurring work. Abstract

This study aims to describe the form of garap on music accompaniment of Rejung Rasan-Dirasan in Musi Rawas Regency. This study used the descriptive qualitative method. The data collection used: (1) recording technique, both audio and audiovisual; (2) notes; (3) in-depth interviews with some informants; (4) literature study and documentation analysis. The primary data source analyzed was Cikwan as the speaker and some of the public figures in Musi Rawas Regency, South Sumatra. The study results show that the garap form of oral-literary is different from the music structure of Javanese gamelan tradition in general. It submits to the techniques of Rejung Rasan-Dirasan in Musi Rawas Regency. ------- This study aims to describe the form of working on the musical accompaniment of Rejung Rasan-Drasan in Musi Rawas Regency. This study used descriptive qualitative method. Data collection techniques in this study used: (1) recording techniques, both audio and audiovisual, (2) recording, (3) in-depth interviews, (4) literature study and documentation analysis. The main data sources analyzed were Cikwan as a speaker and several community leaders in Musi Rawas Regency, South Sumatra. The results of this study indicate that the form of working on the oral literary art of Rejung Rasan-Dirasan is out of the structure of the rules of Javanese gamelan music which is certainly different from the structure of Javanese music in general but is subject to the technique in the musical Rejung Rasan-Drasan in Musi Rawas Regency.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the strategy of learning western music based on Microsoft Team and YouTube Post-pandemic media in class XI of SMA N 1 Gubug, Grobogan Regency. The research method uses a qualitative approach with the type of case study research. The data in this study are descriptions of online western music learning strategies using Microsoft Team and YouTube obtained through interviews and observations as the main data and documentation as supporting data, with the research subjects being principals, music teachers and student representatives. After collecting data, qualitative data analysis was then carried out. The results of the study show that the learning of western music based on Microsoft Team and YouTube media has been carried out starting in the even semester of the 2020/2021 school year. The media was used by music teachers to provide post-pandemic western music materials. The media used is adjusted to the teaching material, namely in the form of displaying modules, videos, word files uploaded in Microsoft Teams. Music assessment carried out includes three aspects, namely the assessment of attitudes, knowledge and skills. Learning evaluation is carried out by the school every month, western music learning is carried out well from the participation, activeness and participation of students in participating in learning activities. The teacher becomes easier in delivering the material, the interaction between the teacher and students is more active. The effectiveness of western music learning for the criteria of teaching quality, suitability of the level of teaching, intensive learning is said to be effective. However, the criteria for the time required can be said to be ineffective.
