Abstract

Coding skills have become essential for young learners to develop computational thinking and creativity. This study explores the implementation of coding education to enhance computational thinking among elementary school students, particularly at SD Negeri 21 Dauh Puri Denpasar, where technological access is limited. A case study approach was applied with 28 fifth-grade students. Data were collected through observations, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. Findings revealed increased computational thinking scores from 56.3 to 74.8 after Scratch-based coding lessons. Significant improvements were observed in decomposition, pattern recognition, and algorithmic thinking, although abstraction remained challenging. Students demonstrated high enthusiasm, especially in creating animations and games. However, limited infrastructure and insufficient teacher training hindered optimal implementation. The study concludes that coding education can foster students' critical thinking and creativity but must be supported by structured teacher training and adequate technological resources. It recommends developing innovative and sustainable learning strategies to make coding an integral part of the elementary education curriculum in Indonesia.

Abstract

The importance of quality in education extends beyond mere numbers on report cards or accreditation, but encompasses the entire process and outcomes that meet or exceed stakeholder expectations. Superior quality will produce graduates who are competent, competitive, innovative, and ready to face the challenges of the times. Education is a key pillar of a nation's progress, yet it faces challenges of relevance and quality in the era of digital disruption. This article examines Total Quality Management (TQM) as a transformative paradigm in education. With a focus on customers (students), strong leadership, staff engagement, continuous improvement, a data-driven approach, and process management, TQM offers a holistic framework. Through a literature review, this article analyzes the principles, pillars, implementation strategies, and challenges and opportunities of TQM implementation in achieving sustainable educational excellence. The discussion shows that TQM can increase institutional competitiveness, produce quality graduates, strengthen reputations, and ensure innovation and relevance in education in the future. Adopting TQM is a strategic investment for human resource development and national progress.

Abstract

As universities strive for global recognition, integrating internationalization and digitalization into their educational systems has become crucial. This study aims to analyze the strategies employed by the State Islamic University's Postgraduate Program to enhance educational quality and achieve international recognition. The research approach is a case study with a qualitative design involving in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis is done through condensation, reduction, and visualization of data, as well as verification to ensure the validity of the findings. The study results indicate that the Postgraduate Program implements a strategy of curriculum internationalization, international cooperation, and the application of digital technology to improve the quality of education. These efforts include developing a curriculum by international standards, cooperating with foreign universities, and integrating technologies such as E-learning and AI for more interactive learning. Despite the challenges of adapting technology, continuous training is a solution to improving digital skills. The implications of this study indicate that implementing internationalization and digitalization policies can increase the competitiveness of higher education.
