Abstract

The training on Strategi Peningkatan Pemasaran Produk KUPS melalui Digital Marketing was conducted at Hotel Aruna Senggigi, West Lombok Regency, on May 20, 2025, with the participation of social forestry groups (KUPS), forestry extension officers, and local stakeholders. The program aimed to strengthen the capacity of KUPS in adapting to digital markets. Participants gained a clearer understanding of the distinctions between selling, marketing, and branding, while also being introduced to current e-commerce trends in Indonesia, including Shopee, Tokopedia, and TikTok Shop. Qualitative evaluation revealed increased confidence, enthusiasm, and readiness to experiment with digital platforms, despite challenges such as limited internet access and digital literacy. The training demonstrated that digital marketing is not only a technical skill but also a pathway toward independence, competitiveness, and sustainability for social forestry enterprises.

Abstract

This community service program was implemented to address the limited use of digital marketing tools and e-commerce platforms in promoting maggot-based products produced by the Tui Jati Livestock Farmer Group. Prior to the program, product marketing was conducted conventionally and remained confined to local buyers due to the absence of digital promotional media. The activities were carried out through several stages including initial assessment, formulation of instructional materials, delivery of thematic training sessions, and direct mentoring for establishing an online marketplace account. During the training, participants were guided to develop a complete business profile, prepare standard product images, write informative descriptions, set appropriate prices, and manage incoming inquiries from potential buyers. The outcomes demonstrate significant improvement in participants’ digital competencies, especially in organizing online storefronts, ensuring product visibility, and maintaining communication channels with consumers. In addition, participants were able to update their product listings independently and sustain account activity after the program. Overall, this community service initiative has successfully increased digital literacy, strengthened product commercialization, expanded market access opportunities, and positioned e-commerce as a practical and sustainable marketing approach for maggot-based products.

Abstract

Celery is a leafy vegetable that has many benefits. Celery growth is greatly influenced by climatic factors because this plant requires a sufficiently cool temperature to grow well. Extreme temperatures that are too hot or too cold can reduce celery production. This study evaluated the significance of various types of mulch (plastic, straw, and no mulch) combined with an automatic drip irrigation system on the growth of celery plants (Apium graveolens L.). The main objective was to determine the effectiveness of the treatments and analyze their impact on soil microclimate conditions (temperature and humidity). The method used was a field experiment conducted 30 days after planting (DAP). A total of 60 plants were planted in each bed with three mulch treatments, all of which used drip irrigation. Observations were made every three days at 08.00 WITA, covering growth parameters (plant height, number of leaves, and number of branches) and soil microclimate parameters (temperature and humidity). The results showed that the type of mulch played an important role in modifying the microclimate and affecting celery growth. Although fertilization tended to increase plant height (although not statistically significant), straw mulch produced the highest results (approximately 10 cm). Meanwhile, the best vegetative growth (41 leaves and 2.87 branches) was achieved in the treatment without mulch that was fertilized. In terms of microclimate, plastic mulch recorded the highest soil temperature (28.29°C), while the highest soil moisture (23.66%) was observed in the combination of straw mulch without fertilizer. The results of the study show that the type of mulch effectively influences the microclimate conditions of the soil, which in turn supports celery growth. These results emphasize the importance of selecting the right mulch to create optimal conditions for celery cultivation with automatic drip irrigation.
