Abstract

Banteran village especially Danalaya halmet is located at the foot of Slamet mountain with the contours of the hilly villages so that the location of residential areas is higher than in the river around the village, as well as their water source. With these conditions, the pump installation built hidram that is the water pump hydropower that serves to pump the water to burst higher than the waterfall, so the clean water needs at Danalaya halmet can be met. Network hidram pump clean water from the new turns up at one point and has not spread to the rest of the villagers so that not all villagers can enjoy it and it is a problem that must be solved. Given the problems we plan to help villagers Danalaya in the water distribution network by making clean water and we want to raise the water higher so water can be channeled to the whole house of the villagers. We use additional solar-powered pump (Green Infrastructure), so that the location of the water tank and the higher availability of clean water dealer network along with the water meter, it is expected the entire village can enjoy the clean water has been channeled later. PDAM of village also formed to regulate water usage recorded by the water meter so that the operational costs of water usage can be adjusted by the amount of water consumption per home residents. Keywords : water, solar power, hydram pump, water hammer,Banteran, green infrastucture.

Abstract

Rice-field rat (Rattus argentiventer) is a rodent that has a high level of productivity. These animals attack rice plants from the vegetative to the generative phase. This research aimed to analyze and to predict the accuracy of the use of owls with mathematical equations model in Kebokura and Lebeng villages, Sumpiuh district. Lotka - Volterra and Competitive Lotka-Volterra models were used to predict the population dynamics of Owl (predator) and rice-field rats (prey), then Runge - Kutta numerical method was applied to analyze the population dynamics of predator and prey at a certain time. The results of the analyses using the Lotka – Volterra, Competitive Lotka - Volterra equations and simulation data, each graph data showed that the rats’ population was able to be maximally suppressed. Based on the analysis result, started with 24 owls and 1,689 rats, the rats’ population could be suppressed to 104 using Lotka – Volterra, and to 176 using the Competitive Lotka – Volterra model. Then in the first and second simulation, started with 50 and 100 owls and 1,689 rats, analysis using Lotka – Volterra and Competitive Lotka – Volterra showed that the rat population could be suppressed to as much as 126, 188 and 145, 189, respectively. Based on the analysis, it could be concluded that use of Serak Jawa owl strategy was able to reduce and stabilize the rat populations. Furthermore, the higher population of owls can prevent the population explosion of rats and can suppress the rat population to a lower number.

Abstract

Abstract

High ambient temperatures inside tropical greenhouses can significantly raise nutrient solution temperatures in vertical hydroponic systems, disrupting nutrient uptake and reducing plant productivity. This study focuses on the design and development of a nutrient cooling system (chiller) using two TEC1-12706 thermoelectric modules (Peltier) arranged in series to enhance heat dissipation performance. The nutrient solution is pumped from the reservoir to the cooling chamber using a 12 V DC pump and recirculated in a closed-loop configuration. The chiller system is fully automated, controlled by two DH48S digital timers operating simultaneously: one activates Peltier 1, while the other controls Peltier 2 via the NC output (5 minutes) and the pump via the NO output (30 seconds), enabling alternating programmed cooling and circulation. The entire chiller unit is active only from 08:00 to 18:00 WITA using a KG316T programmable timer, corresponding to peak thermal stress hours inside the greenhouse. Results showed that despite greenhouse temperatures reaching up to 39.4 °C with relative humidity dropping to 47.6%, the chiller system maintained nutrient solution temperatures within the optimal 27–30 °C range. This design proved effective in reducing and stabilizing nutrient temperature under high heat microclimates. With its simple, automated, and energy-efficient architecture, the chiller system offers a promising solution for small-scale vertical hydroponics and greenhouse-based urban farming in tropical regions.

Abstract

This community engagement activity was conducted on June 10, 2025, at the Coconut Processing Center in North Lombok Regency, aiming to enhance the awareness and understanding of small and medium-scale coconut-based agro-industrial actors regarding the implementation of quality management systems (QMS). The absence of standardized procedures and inadequate attention to food safety practices have contributed to the inconsistency and limited competitiveness of local processed coconut products such as virgin coconut oil (VCO), coconut milk, and other derivatives. Through the structured delivery of theoretical materials—encompassing foundational concepts of quality assurance, hygiene and sanitation principles, and the legal framework of food safety regulations—participants were introduced to the significance of quality systems in achieving product standardization and compliance. The discussion also highlighted the relevance of the Home Industry Food Permit (PIRT) as a prerequisite for legal distribution and formal market entry. The outcome of the session revealed a substantial improvement in participants’ comprehension of quality-related principles and their willingness to gradually integrate them into operational practices. This initiative demonstrates the pivotal role of universities in strengthening rural-based agribusinesses through knowledge transfer and institutional support.
