Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomenon of declining teacher performance at SMK Sariwangi Tasikmalaya, which is suspected to be caused by low work motivation and a lack of work discipline. This issue is crucial because teacher performance is one of the key factors in achieving educational goals. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to empirically examine the influence of work motivation and work discipline on teacher performance. This study employed a quantitative approach with a survey method. The population consisted of all 38 teachers at SMK Sariwangi Tasikmalaya, and the sampling technique used was saturated sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was carried out using multiple linear regression to determine both the partial and simultaneous effects of the independent variables on the dependent variable. The results showed that work motivation has a positive and significant effect on teacher performance, and work discipline also has a positive and significant effect on teacher performance. These findings emphasize that improving motivation through rewards, support, and a conducive work environment, as well as strengthening discipline through compliance with school rules and teaching responsibilities, are important factors in optimizing teacher performance. The implication of this research highlights the need for managerial strategies in human resource management, particularly in education, to enhance learning quality and achieve educational objectives.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine how academic procrastination affects the social studies learning outcomes of seventh-grade students at MTs Miftahul Amal Bekasi. The phenomenon that many students have a tendency to persevere in completing academic assignments, which can impact their learning outcomes, formed the basis of this study. The research methodology used was an associative quantitative approach with a survey technique. The study population was 90 seventh-grade students at MTs Miftahul Amal Bekasi from the 2024–2025 academic year. A saturated sampling technique was used to select a sample of 60 students. A Likert-type academic procrastination scale and daily social studies test results were used to collect data. Basic linear regression was used for data analysis using SPSS version 20. The findings indicated that despite poor social studies learning outcomes, their academic procrastination levels were high. Academic procrastination had a significant impact on social studies learning outcomes, based on a regression test significance value of 0.000 (<0.05). Academic procrastination accounted for 97% of the variation in social studies learning outcomes, while other factors influenced the remaining 3%, based on a coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.970. These two variables had a very good relationship (R = 0.985). However, because increases in procrastination were accompanied by increases in learning outcomes in this study, the direction of the identified influence did not align with general theory. Despite the direction of influence revealed by most hypotheses, this study concluded that academic procrastination had a significant impact on social studies learning outcomes in seventh-grade students at MTs Miftahul Amal Bekasi. This opens up opportunities for further research to examine mediating factors that may influence this relationship, such as learning motivation, learning tactics, and contextual support.

Abstract

An empirical gap was identified in the initial survey, which revealed rooms with substandard lighting and temperature, and Google reviews indicated that some inpatient nurses performed poorly. The purpose of this study was to identify and analyze the influence of facilities and infrastructure on nurse performance. The research method used a mixed method with a sequential explanatory design, with a sample of 35 inpatient nurses and interviews with hospital management. Quantitative analysis using Chi-Square and Multivariate Logistic Regression and qualitative analysis with inpatient room observation and department interviews. The results of the study were obtained from the variables of lighting, temperature, work support equipment and technological support related to nurse performance (p-value <0.05). Logistic regression analysis showed that the lighting variable was 2.7 times greater (p-value 0.019), temperature 2.9 times greater (p-value 0.054), work support equipment 1.1 times greater (p-vaue 0.032) and technological support 1.5 times greater (p-value 0.040) on good nurse performance compared to poor nurse performance. Conclusion Lighting, temperature, work support equipment, and technological support significantly influence nurse performance, with temperature being the most dominant variable. Suggestions for improving facilities and infrastructure are recommended to further enhance nurse performance.

Abstract

Soil quality improvement can be achieved through the application of soil ameliorants such as Biochar. Developing superior varieties that are efficient in fertilization is also an effort to reduce the use of chemical fertilizers. This study aims to improve fertilization efficiency through the application of Biochar and the development of hybrid large red chili varieties at Siliwangi University. The research method used a Split-split plot design, consisting of large red chili varieties as the main plot, Biochar dosage treatment as the sub-plot, and different doses of inorganic fertilizers as the sub-sub plot. The main plot treatment consisted of four levels: Baja Variety (V1), UNSIL-01 (V2), UNSIL-02 (V3), and UNSIL-03 (V4). The sub-plot had two levels: without Biochar (B0) and 10 tons/ha of Biochar (B1). The inorganic fertilizer treatment consisted of three levels: 25% (P1), 50% (P2), and 75% (P3) of the standard dose. Each treatment was repeated three times, resulting in 72 research plots. The slow pyrolysis of coconut shell produced biochar with an average efficiency of 33.7% based on the dry weight of the feedstock. Optimal pyrolysis conditions, with temperatures ranging between 275°C and 485°C over 6 to 9 hours. Among the tested chili varieties, UNSIL-03 (V4) and Baja (V1) showed the highest growth performance, particularly in height and stem diameter, in biochar-amended soil. The application of 25% of the standard inorganic fertilizer dose, in combination with biochar, was sufficient to achieve optimal plant growth across most varieties, especially Baja (V1) and UNSIL-03 (V4).

Abstract

A convert is someone who experiences a leap in religious experience, from being a non-Muslim to converting to Islam and becoming a Muslim. This definition of a convert demonstrates that a convert is not someone who has been educated in Islamic religion and spirituality since childhood. Therefore, an increased understanding of Islamic law and worship, particularly reading and writing the Quran, is also necessary. One of the roles of the Tegal Regency Muallaf House (Rumah Muallaf) in meeting these needs is the role of the House of Muallaf (Rumah Muallaf). However, the programs developed by the House of Muallaf have not always been technically smooth. This is due to the congregation's scattered domiciles, the diversity of professions held by the congregation, the inconsistent enthusiasm of the congregation, and the varying levels of understanding of sharia and worship, as well as the diversity of skills in reading the holy book, the Quran. Community service activities carried out by IAT students aim to understand the situation, reconcile with reality, find a compromise to address challenges, and provide solutions to the problems faced by converts. Developing a practical guidebook for worship and improving Quran reading skills for converts in Tegal Regency is a solution desired by converts. Through the implementation of the ABCD method, with its five steps, the management and members of the Rumah Muallaf community have identified sufficient internal assets to be utilized to realize this practical guidebook for worship.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the role of the tri center of education family, school, and community in optimizing the implementation of the Child-Friendly School (CFS) program at SDN 2 Pancor. The study employed a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving the school principal, parents, and local community members. The findings reveal that the successful implementation of the child-friendly school program at SDN 2 Pancor is the result of strong synergy among the family, school, and community. Families play a vital role as the first and foremost educational environment, providing guidance, learning support, and instilling values of discipline and respect. Schools act as formal learning centers that create safe, comfortable, and inclusive environments through participatory learning and the provision of adequate facilities. Meanwhile, the community serves as a strategic partner by offering moral support, social engagement, and maintaining a healthy environment through joint activities, religious guidance, and community safety agreements around the school. Thus, collaboration among these three educational pillars has proven effective in creating a safe, enjoyable, and child-friendly learning climate. The results of this study are expected to serve as a reference for other schools in developing similar sustainable programs.
