Abstract

Learning Islamic Religious Education (PAI) is not only about understanding the material but also about shaping students' character. However, in practice, PAI learning still prioritizes cognitive aspects. Therefore, strategies are needed to ensure these values are truly applied in everyday life. This article aims to analyze how to implement habituation, role modeling, and positive reinforcement in the PAI learning process. The method used is a literature review with a qualitative descriptive approach. The results indicate that habituation is carried out through regular daily activities, role modeling demonstrated by teachers' attitudes and actions, and positive reinforcement provided by appreciating students' good deeds. These three strategies have proven to complement each other in shaping students' religious character.

Abstract

Advances in digital technology have transformed the role of educators from mere instructors to technology-based facilitators. However, this transformation is often hindered by the gap between educational policies and the actual capabilities of teachers in the field. This study aims to analyze the empirical gap between digital competency requirements and the reality of educators’ capabilities, as well as to assess the relevance of competency standards under Law No. 14 of 2005 in the Society 5.0 era. This study employs a qualitative method using a literature review approach. Data were analyzed descriptively and analytically by comparing the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) theoretical framework by Mishra and Koehler with the dynamics of curriculum change in Indonesia. The findings indicate a consistent “competency gap” from the KTSP era through the Merdeka Curriculum, where improvements in digital infrastructure have not been accompanied by substantial pedagogical transformation. An analysis of Law No. 14 of 2005 reveals that while aspects of professionalism have been addressed, the details regarding technological literacy remain general in nature, leading to a disconnect in the implementation of teacher training. This study concludes that revitalizing the educator profile requires a holistic strategy that integrates TPACK theory into national regulations so that the digital transformation of education is not merely technical but also addresses inclusive pedagogical aspects.

Abstract

Although moral character restoration has received broad attention in previous studies, research that specifically discusses strategies for integrating the concept of Tazkiyatu An-Nafs and the value of Ihsan into the contemporary Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum remains limited. This study aims to analyze the implementation of PAI-based moral character restoration as an alternative solution to addressing the moral crisis among young people in the global era. This study used a qualitative approach with a library research design through the analysis of various relevant primary and secondary literature. Data were collected using an in-depth literature text review method and analyzed using the content analysis technique of the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings showed that the reconstruction of Al-Ghazali’s ethical thought through habituation, exemplary conduct, and the internalization of Ihsan-based spiritual-moral awareness can serve as an independent filter for adolescents in protecting themselves from the negative impacts of globalization. The conclusion of this study affirms the importance of integrating the values of Tazkiyatu An-Nafs and Ihsan into PAI learning as a foundation for moral character restoration oriented toward the formation of noble character. The implications of this study emphasize the need for synergy within the Three Centers of Education ecosystem to realize sustainable moral restoration for young people.
