Abstract

The system of government in Indonesia has continuously evolved over time, with ongoing efforts aimed at creating a government capable of ensuring the welfare of the Indonesian people. Efforts to achieve a state of welfare include implementing the concept of Good Governance. The principles of Good Governance are fundamental elements in establishing a clean and effective government, free from corruption, with transparent financial flows, and without collusion or nepotism. This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of applying Good Governance principles and their impact on the welfare of the Indonesian people. The study employs a qualitative research method with a literature review or document analysis approach. This methodology focuses primarily on qualitative analysis of secondary sources, including academic journals, books, and government reports. The literature analysis reveals a consensus on the importance of principles such as transparency, accountability, and participation in enhancing public welfare. Therefore, cooperation between the government and the public is needed to achieve the welfare of the people through Good Governance. The government's role as an agent of change is crucial in implementing the desired reforms. Keywords: People welfare, Goverment’s role,Good governance

Abstract

This study aims to examine the pedagogical approaches used in teaching Mandarin to first-year students of the Mandarin Applied Bachelor Program at Universitas Prima Indonesia. The research method used is descriptive qualitative through classroom observation and interviews with teachers and students. The main focus of this study is to identify the learning methods applied, assess their effectiveness, and understand the challenges faced in the process of mastering the four language skills: listening (听 tīng), speaking (说 shuō), reading (读 dú), and writing (写 xiě). The results of the study indicate that the pedagogical approaches used include Communicative Language Teaching (CLT), scaffolding, direct method, audio-lingual, and grammar translation method. These approaches encourage active student involvement, improve understanding of language concepts, and create a communicative and collaborative learning environment. Several challenges are still found, such as the lack of variation in learning media, less conducive learning time, and differences in student motivation levels. This study suggests the integration of interactive digital media and project-based learning approaches as solutions. The novelty of this study lies in the reflective integration of classical pedagogical approaches with the practical needs of business communication in the global era, as well as the direct mapping between learning time, student sitting position, and level of learning enthusiasm, which have not been widely explored in the local context of Mandarin learning in Indonesia.

Abstract

Batam, a strategic city in Indonesia's Riau Islands Province near Singapore and Malaysia, is a hub of economic activity, trade, and tourism, resulting in high mobility demands. The increasing need for transportation services, including car rentals, highlights the importance of efficient and practical solutions to support daily activities and business operations. To address growing demand, car rental companies in Batam have adopted Decision Support Systems (DSS) to enhance service quality. DSS helps analyze data and provides recommendations, enabling customers to select vehicles that meet their needs. One method implemented in DSS is the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) technique, which evaluates criteria such as price, vehicle type, capacity, and comfort. SAW ensures systematic, transparent decision-making, reducing bias and enhancing customer satisfaction. By integrating SAW, car rental businesses in Batam improve operational efficiency, offer competitive services, and meet customer expectations in a rapidly growing market.

Abstract

Abstract

This research aims to analyze service quality to increase customer satisfaction. In this research, the population used is respondents who have chosen and used an airline. The data collection method used is a quantitative method using Google Form as a survey medium. The sampling technique used is non-probability sampling with a purposive sampling type. A total of 100 respondents were collected for this survey. According to the importance performance analysis that has been carried out, it can be seen that in quadrant 1, there are two points that are the main problems with the service, namely departure comfort and baggage handling. This occurs because there is a large gap between the high level of importance of these variables and their performance, which is quite low. This can be seen from the many complaints that occur regarding departure times. Then, if you look at quadrant 2, there are the variables of friendliness of the crew, ability and level of assistance provided by the crew, care and tidiness of crew members, cleanliness of the aircraft cabin, cleanliness of the aircraft toilet, on-board catering, comfort of the seats. According to consumers, these variables are important, but the company's performance is also good in these variables. Then in quadrant 3, there is a variable regarding the availability of magazines and newspapers on the plane, which according to consumers is not important, but according to the performance, it is also poor in this variable. And finally, in quadrant 4, there are no aspects or service indicators from airlines that have excessive performance compared to their importance.

Abstract

This study was conducted at a pharmaceutical manufacturing company, focusing on the blistering process of capsule products. Quality control issues were identified, particularly defects that do not meet company standards. The objective of this research is to identify the root causes of defects and propose improvements using the Poka Yoke and Kaizen methods. The study is limited to defects found in capsules that have passed the blistering stage, including crushed capsules, dirt contamination, misprinted expiration dates, and empty capsules. The capsules used in the study already meet company standards before processing. The analysis applies the Six Sigma methodology with the DMAIC approach (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control). Results from January 2024 to March 2025 show a DPMO value of 9100.625 and a sigma level of 3.86. The Pareto diagram indicates that the most dominant defects are crushed capsules (35.8%) and dirty capsules (30%). Based on FMEA analysis, the highest RPN values are caused by capsule misalignment in the blister machine (for crushed defects) and powder residue sticking to the sealing area (for dirty defects). Improvements are proposed using Poka Yoke techniques and continuous improvement through Kaizen, specifically applying the 5M and 5S principles.
