Abstract

Damaged roads, if follow-up repairs are not carried out immediately, cause greater damage and require greater costs to repair, so efforts need to be made to maintain the condition of the road to avoid this. So this research aims to find an index of the level of damage to the road pavement on the Malang - Kepanjen arterial road section with the help of civil engineering using the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) method and mapping of the condition of road damage in the research area using the help of the Geographic Information System (GIS) will be carried out. Based on the results of the analysis and calculations, the condition of road surface damage was obtained, namely, shoving, rutting, depression, patches, holes, alligator cracks, longitudinal cracks, edge cracks, and block cracks. Meanwhile, the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) value for each road, namely the Kebonagung highway has a PCI value of 76.8 (Very Good) and the Genengan highway has a PCI value of 80.75 (Very Good). After obtaining all the damage values based on the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) method, the Geographic Information System was implemented, namely creating a thematic map of the road damage values on each road in the research location so that the mapping of the road damage values could be used as a reference to see the condition of the roads in the Pakisaji and Kepanjen sub-district.

Abstract

In the Malang Regency area, several arterial roads experience pavement damage, such as on Jalan Raya Talangagung - Jalan Raya Jatikerto which is one of the arterial roads that can lead to Blitar Regency. Based on this phenomenon, it is necessary to conduct a review or research to determine the condition of the road pavement, so that it can help in making policies or choosing the right maintenance system. The method used in determining the condition of road damage is the Bina Marga method which has the final result in the form of a priority order value and mapping of road damage conditions in the research area using Geographic Information System (GIS) tools. Based on the results of the analysis and calculation, the damage conditions of the pavement are obtained namely, crocodile skin cracks, transverse cracks, longitudinal cracks, patches, grain release, fatness, random cracks, holes, and grooves. Then the priority order value on Jalan Raya Talangagung is 5, so the road is included in the periodic maintenance program, while on Jalan Raya Jatikerto a priority order value of 3 is obtained, so the road is included in the improvement program. The next step when obtaining the condition value of each road is to apply the Geographic Information System as a tool in creating thematic maps that show the condition value of road damage for each road in the research location.

Abstract

Ketingan Beach is no stranger to the people of Sidoarjo, apart from being a beach tourist attraction in the District. Sidoarjo, with its mangrove forest ecosystem as a mangrove tourist attraction, also has historical value, making it a pilgrimage tourist spot. The large number of activities that occur around the Ketingan area can affect the water quality of Ketingan beach itself, if the water quality is poor it can damage the potential of Ketingan beach. Based on this background, it is necessary to carry out water quality measurement research to monitor the distribution of Total Suspended Solid (TSS), Sea Surface Temperature and Salinity in 2023 at Ketingan Beach using Landsat 8 Satellite Imagery. The results of the analysis show that the in situ data value for Total Suspended Solid is 61 ( mg/l) - 152 (mg/l) and for the in situ sea surface temperature of Ketingan Sidoarjo Waters it ranges between 18.4°C - 24.4°C while for in situ salinity it ranges between 31 (ppt) - 34 (ppt). From the image data with the highest correlation value, the Total Suspended Solid value was obtained at 99.60 (mg/l) – 110.82 (mg/l) and for sea surface temperature it ranged between 19.41°C – 24°C while for salinity it ranged between 32 .36 (ppt) - 34.57 (ppt). Meanwhile, the correlation value between Total Suspended Solid (TSS) and Sea Surface Temperature was produced using a correlation test with a value of -0.999974332, which means that these two variables have a very strong negative correlation value. The correlation value between Total Suspended Solid (TSS) and Salinity produces a correlation value of 0.341614101, which means that these two variables have a fairly low positive correlation value. Therefore, this research can be a reference in subsequent research and map the distribution of Total Suspended Solid (TSS), Sea Surface Temperature and Salinity and monitor the increase or decrease in Total Suspended Solid (TSS), Sea Surface Temperature and Salinity. So that it can provide the right solution in making decisions regarding environmental impacts, while in the field of Civil Engineering in the planning and construction sector of water structures such as ports and docks, this research can also be used as a database.

Abstract

Indonesia has an area of around 1,904,569km² with the largest archipelago in the world, namely 17,508 islands. One example of an island formed from sediment is in Sidoarjo Regency, East Java Province due to the Lapindo mud phenomenon from 2006 until now. Over the years, the overflowing mud was directed into the Porong River and settled, resulting in Lusi Island. The government is trying to plant mangroves and the result is that mangroves can grow well on this sedimentary island so that Lusi Island is used as a tourist attraction in Sidoarjo Regency. The natural uniqueness of Lusi Island and its surroundings, including the coast of the island, can be maximized through science and technology. One of the technologies used is remote sensing from Landsat-8 satellite imagery, this technology is used to observe the entire surface of the earth. To get the best results, the system used is a mathematical algorithm. The results of this analysis will later be confirmed with field conditions. The aim of this research is to analyze the distribution of dissolved oxygen and sea surface temperature in the coastal area of Lusi Island. The analysis results show that the value of field data taken in November 2023 for dissolved oxygen is 3.27 mg/L - 7.17 mg/L and for sea surface temperature is 30.3°C - 34.2°C. Meanwhile, image data is 2.86 mg/L - 21.16 mg/L and sea surface temperature is 28°C - 34.2°C. The two field data have a fairly strong negative correlation value of -0.604533307.

Abstract

Pasuruan Regency provides an access road from Surabaya to Banyuwangi and Bali. The access from Surabaya to Banyuwangi and Bali is one of the roads with quite heavy traffic. In the future, of course, traffic volume will continue to become increasingly dense. Apart from that, Pasuruan Regency also has an alternative route that can quickly connect motorists to Pandaan, Sukorejo and Malang. Due to these factors, the potential for sound or noise pollution along roads in Pasuruan Regency is something that needs attention. The aim of this research is to examine the relationship between vehicle volume and noise due to the influence of traffic and to determine a map of the distribution of noise levels along JL Raya Pande Rejo, Legok to Jl. Soekarno Hatta Pasuruan city. This research uses Geographic Information System tools to display thematic maps. In order to get better results, this should be done during peak hours, namely 07.00 - 09.00 in the morning and 16.00 - 18.00 in the afternoon. From the noise level calculation, it was found that the highest noise in the morning was on Jalan Attorney General Suprapto (Segment 4) with a noise value of 81.74 (dBA) caused by the dense traffic volume on Jalan Attorney General Suprapto (Segment 4) of 2040.9 junior high school/hour. So the noise produced is also very large. The results of calculations using the multiple linear regression method, obtained an R2 value of 0.938 on Jalan Attorney General Suprapto with a fairly strong positive correlation value of 0.796 for MC vehicles. It can be concluded that a positive correlation means that the more vehicle volume, the higher the noise level received.

Abstract

High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) pipes are widely applied in clean water distribution systems due to their flexibility, corrosion resistance, and long service life. This study discusses the installation stages of HDPE pipes in a road construction project at the PIER area, including excavation preparation, pipe installation, jointing using the butt fusion method, and hydrostatic pressure testing. The butt fusion process is carried out by controlling temperature, pressure, and heating time in accordance with technical standards to obtain homogeneous joints with strength comparable to the pipe material. Furthermore, hydrostatic pressure testing is conducted to evaluate joint tightness and to ensure the absence of leakage within the piping system. The results indicate that proper field procedures and compliance with applicable standards significantly influence joint quality and the success of pressure testing. This study is expected to serve as a technical reference for the safe and effective implementation of HDPE pipe installations that comply with quality standards.
