Abstract

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to investigate the influence of consumer ethnocentrism (CETH), perceived quality, and perceived price on the purchase intention of Generation Z university students in Indonesia. Grounded in Consumer Value Theory (CVT), this research specifically examines preferences between domestic and imported fashion products, intending to understand the key factors shaping Gen Z's purchasing decisions on e-commerce platforms. Design/method/approach – This research employed a quantitative approach. Data were collected via an online survey (Google Forms) over two months, yielding 380 valid responses from Generation Z students who frequently purchase local fashion products on e-commerce (Shopee and Tokopedia). The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to test the relationships between variables, ensuring construct reliability and validity. Findings – The results show that perceived quality and perceived price significantly influence consumer ethnocentrism. Furthermore, this study confirms that perceived quality, perceived price, and consumer ethnocentrism each exert significant positive effects on purchase intention. Implications – These findings offer crucial practical insights for domestic fashion brands. To compete effectively and attract Generation Z consumers, local brands are strongly advised to prioritize product quality, maintain competitive pricing, and leverage cultural alignment to build ethnocentric sentiment. Novelty/Originality – The originality of this research lies in its specific focus on the Generation Z demographic in Indonesia within the context of domestic vs. imported product competition in the digital era. This study fills a literature gap by analyzing the determinants of purchase intention on leading e-commerce platforms, providing fresh insights into this key consumer segment.

Abstract

The impact of leader member exchange on enhancing innovation capacity, especially for employees with more than 15 years of experience in situations where knowledge exchange is limited, is an important area of research. This study highlights the positive influence of strong personal relationships between managers and senior employees on innovation, even in the absence of in-depth knowledge exchange. This emphasizes the important role of LMX in encouraging experienced employees to share knowledge and expertise and utilize their accumulated knowledge. This study uses a quantitative method with a Structural Equation Modeling approach to analyze the structural relationships between latent variables based on questionnaire data from 194 employees of PT. Ciputra Nusantara. The findings highlight the importance of strong interpersonal relationships and leadership influence in overcoming low barriers to knowledge sharing, thereby enhancing senior employees' innovation capabilities. Practical implications include the development of leadership training that fosters strong personal relationships and helps employees gain experience in contributing to innovation efforts, even in environments where knowledge sharing is a common practice. This study provides new insights into strategic leadership and human resource management, highlighting the important role of leader member exchange in overcoming knowledge sharing challenges in organizations.

Abstract

Digital transformation reshapes organizations, requiring leaders to leverage technology for enhanced performance. This study explores how digital leadership influences performance orientation through task-technology fit and artificial intelligence literacy in Indonesia’s creative and technology sectors. The objective is to examine the mediating roles of task-technology fit, the alignment of technology with tasks, and artificial intelligence literacy, the ability to use and understand artificial intelligence tools, in driving performance. A quantitative approach was employed, using a survey of 300 professionals in Yogyakarta, analyzed with Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The findings show that digital leadership significantly enhances task–technology fit and AI literacy, which in turn strengthens performance orientation. Both mediators partially transmit leadership effects, revealing structural and cognitive pathways in digital workplaces. Organizations should invest in digital leadership development, AI literacy initiatives, and systematic alignment between workflows and technologies to build agile, performance-focused cultures. These efforts can enhance innovation, support evidence-based decision making, reduce technostress, and prepare creative and technology workers to collaborate effectively with AI.

Abstract

This study examines the determinants of behavioral intention toward halal tourism destinations by applying the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB). Specifically, the research investigates the effects of attitude, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control on tourists’ behavioral intention in the context of halal tourism destinations in Lombok, Indonesia. A quantitative research design was employed using a cross-sectional survey approach. Data were collected from Muslim and non-Muslim tourists who had visited or intended to visit halal tourism destinations and were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS. The measurement model assessment demonstrates satisfactory convergent and discriminant validity, as indicated by outer loading values exceeding the recommended threshold, Average Variance Extracted (AVE) values above 0.50, and strong internal consistency reflected by Cronbach’s alpha and composite reliability values. The structural model results reveal that attitude, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control have positive and significant effects on behavioral intention. The R-square value indicates a substantial explanatory power of the model, while the f-square analysis confirms the varying effect sizes of each antecedent on behavioral intention. These findings highlight the importance of psychological and social factors in shaping tourists’ intentions toward halal tourism destinations. Practically, the results provide insights for destination managers and policymakers to design effective marketing strategies by strengthening positive attitudes, leveraging social influence, and enhancing tourists’ perceived control through accessible facilities and halal-friendly services. This study contributes to the growing body of halal tourism literature by empirically validating the TPB framework in a multi-group tourism context.
