Abstract

Abstract

This community service activity aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of students and teachers at SDN 3 Tumbang Tahai, Palangka Raya City, in managing organic and non-organic waste. The activity was carried out on August 7, 2025, through several stages, namely preparation, counseling, demonstration, hands-on practice, mentoring, and evaluation. The counseling method was used to provide conceptual understanding regarding types of waste and their environmental impacts, while demonstrations and practical activities on waste sorting and processing organic waste into compost were conducted to instill applicable skills in the participants. The results show that participants were able to identify the differences between organic and non-organic waste, practice proper waste sorting, and understand the basic composting process. Teachers also gained new insights that have the potential to be integrated into learning activities and environmentally friendly school programs. Overall, this activity contributed positively to fostering environmentally conscious behavior in the school and supported efforts to create a clean, healthy, and sustainable learning environment.

Abstract

Education is critical because, without education, it is difficult for society to develop and will be left behind. Education is one of the efforts to improve the quality of human energy sources, encompassing both physical, mental, and spiritual aspects. The problem-based learning (PBL) learning model is one of the learning models that can help students develop their critical thinking skills to solve problems. This study aims to determine the influence of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model on students' critical thinking skills. The method used in this study is a literature review. A total of 15 relevant articles were selected and analyzed to determine the influence of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model on students' critical thinking skills. The results of this literature review indicate that the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model has a significant impact on improving students' critical thinking skills. Through Problem-Based Learning (PBL), students engage in a real-world problem-solving process, encouraging them to think analytically, critically, and creatively.

Abstract

During the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Indonesian government implemented Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) to curb the spread of the coronavirus. These restrictions have limited community mobility, resulting in the need for adaptation to new circumstances. The shift from in-person shopping to online platforms has become essential for fulfilling basic needs. E-commerce, the electronic buying and selling of goods, has emerged as a crucial solution. This study aims to examine whether there are differences in visits to e-commerce websites in Indonesia in light of these behavioral changes. A quantitative approach is employed, utilizing data on website visits during the COVID-19 pandemic and distributing questionnaires. The findings demonstrate that the pandemic has indeed impacted the number of visits to e-commerce websites. The increase in website visits has led to a surge in online financial transactions, a greater demand for expedited delivery services due to the high volume of products to be shipped, an increase in the requirement for packaging materials, and a higher demand for labor in product packaging services.

Abstract

The teaching of material on quantities, units, and measurements at the university level, particularly for students in Elementary School Teacher Education programs, still largely relies on conventional methods and printed textbooks with limited visualizations. Additionally, laboratory practical sessions often face challenges due to limited laboratory facilities. This situation highlights the importance of developing technology-based learning media that are integrated and support self-directed learning as well as optimal conceptual understanding. The objective of this study is to describe the validity of a digital pocketbook integrated with a virtual laboratory for the subject matter of quantities, units, and measurements for Primary School Teacher Education Students. This type of research is Research and Development using the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate). The research subjects were six validators. Based on the results and discussion, the digital handbook integrated with the virtual laboratory falls into the highly valid category, with an average score of 4.56. Therefore, this handbook is highly suitable for use as an innovative digital learning medium that supports interactive, self-directed, and meaningful learning of concepts related to quantities, units, and measurements for elementary school teacher education students.
