Abstract

The process of passing on or transferring family assets to children, to family descendants begins when the parents are still alive. The transfer of rights to assets in Muslim communities in Indonesia, apart from being in the form of inheritance, is also known in the form of gifts and wills. Looking at the phenomenon in Langkap village, researchers are interested in the practice of dividing inheritances, gifts and wills with economic considerations for the heirs, civil servant heirs will receive a smaller amount of inheritance than non-civil servant heirs. The distribution is based on the agreement of the heirs because this distribution prioritizes the principle of deliberation and consensus between the heirs. It should be noted that the phenomenon of inheritance distribution that occurs in Langkap village adheres to one of the hereditary systems that exist in Indonesia, namely the bilateral system. This bilateral system attracts both the father's and mother's lineages, so that in this kind of family, in essence, there is no distinction between the heirs from the mother's side or the father's side. The reasons for dividing inherited assets based on economic considerations include, among other things, a sense of compassion, avoiding inequality. economy, and avoid conflict. Ways to avoid conflict can be done by dividing inheritance assets taking into account the economic considerations of the heirs, dividing inheritance assets equally, deliberation and handing over problems to the village.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation and effectiveness of the Cooperative-Reflective Approach through the Process-Based Writing (PBW) model in teaching maharah kitabah (Arabic writing skills) among students of the Arabic Language Education Department at IAIN Kediri. The research employed a mixed-methods approach using an Explanatory Sequential Design, where quantitative data were first collected through pre-test and post-test to measure writing improvement, followed by qualitative data collection through observation, interviews, and reflective journals to elaborate on the results. The participants consisted of 28 undergraduate students from Class D and one postgraduate tutor. The findings revealed a significant improvement in the average score from 38.21 to 74.82, with a gain of 36.61 points and an effect size of 2.90, indicating a very large influence of the intervention on students’ writing performance. Qualitative results showed that the Cooperative-Reflective approach enhanced students’ active participation, individual responsibility, and reflective awareness in the writing process. Students became more collaborative, critical, and confident in producing coherent and communicative Arabic texts. The study concludes that integrating cooperative and reflective approaches through the PBW model is not only effective in improving maharah kitabah but also contributes to developing a process-based and self-aware Arabic language learning model that aligns with 21st-century higher education demands.

Abstract

This study examines the reliability of ChatGPT in translating Arabic–Indonesian religious texts, addressing the concern that AI often struggles with culturally embedded, legal, and theological expressions as highlighted in recent translation studies. The issue is significant because Qur’anic and hadith texts carry normative meanings whose alterations may lead to doctrinal misinterpretation. Data were collected from ten Qur’anic legal verses and ten hadiths from al-Arbaʿīn al-Nawawiyyah, translated by ChatGPT using a standardized prompt. The translations were evaluated through Nababan et al.’s accuracy–acceptability–readability model by expert reviewers and general readers. Findings show that ChatGPT performs well in accuracy and readability but displays limitations in rendering legal terminology, cultural nuance, and doctrinally sensitive expressions. This research contributes empirical evidence on the strengths and risks of AI-assisted translation for Islamic texts and underscores the necessity of expert post-editing to ensure theological precision and culturally appropriate interpretation.
