Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran interaktif berbasis platform Canva pada materi keliling bangun datar di sekolah dasar yang berlandaskan teori belajar Bruner. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Research and Development (R&D) dengan model pengembangan ADDIE yang meliputi tahap analisis, perancangan, pengembangan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas 24 siswa kelas V sekolah dasar. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui instrumen validasi ahli dan angket respons siswa. Analisis data menggunakan pendekatan persentase untuk menilai tingkat kelayakan media pembelajaran yang dikembangkan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran interaktif yang dikembangkan memperoleh skor validitas sebesar 96,18% dengan kategori sangat valid. Selain itu, hasil angket respons siswa menunjukkan tingkat kepraktisan sebesar 90,89% dengan kategori sangat praktis. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran interaktif berbasis Canva pada materi keliling bangun datar layak dan praktis digunakan sebagai media pendukung dalam pembelajaran matematika di sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan pemahaman dan kesadaran guru serta orang tua dalam menciptakan lingkungan pendidikan yang aman dan bermartabat sebagai upaya pencegahan kekerasan seksual dan bullying di sekolah dasar. Program dilaksanakan melalui workshop partisipatif di SDN Maracang Purwakarta yang melibatkan guru, tenaga kependidikan, dan komite sekolah. Metode kegiatan meliputi penyampaian materi, diskusi kelompok, simulasi kasus, serta sesi refleksi diri. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui survei pascakegiatan untuk mengukur perubahan pengetahuan, sikap, dan motivasi peserta. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa 92,3% peserta memperoleh pengetahuan baru mengenai pencegahan kekerasan seksual dan bullying, sementara 100% peserta menyatakan termotivasi untuk menciptakan lingkungan sekolah yang aman. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan reflektif dan kolaboratif efektif dalam meningkatkan kapasitas dan komitmen warga sekolah. Dengan demikian, kegiatan ini disimpulkan berkontribusi positif dalam membangun budaya pendidikan dasar yang menjunjung perlindungan, empati, dan martabat anak

Abstract

Mathematical conceptual understanding is a fundamental ability that students need to master, as it serves as the foundation for learning more complex mathematical concepts. However, elementary school students' conceptual mathematical understanding remains relatively low. This research aimed to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by Magic Straw media on students' mathematical conceptual understanding. The study employed a quantitative approach using an experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of 20 fifth-grade students from SDIT Ilmu Purwakarta selected through purposive sampling. The research instrument was an essay test consisting of five items designed to measure students' mathematical conceptual understanding. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, normality tests, paired sample t-tests, and N-Gain analysis with the assistance of IBM SPSS Statistics 26. The results revealed a significant effect of the Problem Based Learning model assisted by Magic Straw media on students' mathematical conceptual understanding, indicated by a significant value of less than 0.05. Furthermore, the N-Gain score of 0.5321 indicated a moderate improvement in students' mathematical conceptual understanding. Therefore, the Problem Based Learning model assisted by Magic Straw media can be considered an effective alternative learning approach to improve elementary school students' mathematical conceptual understanding.

Abstract

Pre-service elementary teachers face persistent challenges in developing computational thinking (CT) alongside ecological literacy, an area underexplored at the elementary teacher-education level and lacking a validated, population-specific instrument. This study designed and evaluated STEMCology, a design-based research (DBR) framework integrating STEM principles, biological ecological content, and Tynker block programming, to develop pre-service elementary teachers' CT competencies. A one-group pretest-posttest design was used with 74 participants from two classes at one university. The framework comprised four phases: analysis and exploration, identifying eight ecological anchor topics and contextualizing a 29-item, five-dimension CT scale; design and construction, where students built flowchart-guided, ecology-themed Tynker games; evaluation and reflection, in which MSI-converted CT scores showed statistically significant improvements across all five dimensions (p < 0.05), with creativity showing the largest gain (N-Gain = 0.401, medium category) and the remaining dimensions showing low-category gains (0.089 – 0.199); and redesign and refinement, where students revised their games based on evaluation findings to enhance ecological accuracy, logical structure, and playability. These findings suggest that ecologically grounded, block programming-based interventions can be meaningfully integrated into teacher education curricula to cultivate CT competencies in future elementary school teachers.

Abstract

Mathematical Critical Thinking (MCT) is a key 21st-century competency, yet elementary students’ MCT skills remain underdeveloped, partly due to the lack of age-appropriate assessment instruments. Existing instruments primarily target secondary and higher education and inadequately represent critical thinking indicators in elementary mathematics. This study aimed to develop and evaluate the validity and reliability of an MCT instrument on integer addition and subtraction for elementary students. Using a Research and Development (R&D) approach with the ADDIE model, the instrument was tested on 17 third-grade students at an elementary school in Purwakarta through purposive sampling. Nine essay items were designed based on six indicators: interpretation, analysis, inference, evaluation, explanation, and self-regulation. The results showed a reliability coefficient of 0.88, with item difficulty ranging from easy to moderate and good discrimination indices. Five items met validity criteria and were deemed suitable for assessing elementary students’ mathematical critical thinking skills.
