Abstract

This community engagement initiative was prompted by the low rate of scientific publications by teachers in Bengkulu Province, particularly in accredited national journals, despite the fact that such publications are a key indicator of professionalism and career progression. The initiative aims to enhance teachers’ understanding and skills in writing scientific articles in accordance with academic standards. The training was conducted in-person through workshops and intensive mentoring, covering the following topics: understanding the structure of scientific articles; techniques for writing effective titles and abstracts; developing arguments based on literature; paraphrasing and avoiding plagiarism; using references and citations in APA style with the aid of the Mendeley application; strategies for selecting reputable journals; and practising article submission via an online system (OJS). Participants were primary, lower secondary, and upper secondary school teachers in Bengkulu Province, selected based on their readiness to undertake the programme. Evaluation results indicated a significant improvement in understanding of scientific writing, proficiency in using reference tools, as well as motivation and confidence in drafting and submitting articles to journals. This initiative contributed to fostering an academic culture among teachers and promoting the continuous improvement of publication quality. Recommendations for the future include strengthening the community of teacher-authors and providing consistent institutional support.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effects of Perceived Organizational Support (POS), Job Enjoyment, and Career Development on job hopping motives among young professional workers in Indonesia. This research employs a quantitative approach with a descriptive and causal design. Data were collected through a questionnaire distributed to 230 respondents selected using purposive sampling, with criteria including young workers aged 21–35 years and having a maximum tenure of two years. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with the assistance of SmartPLS software. The results indicate that Perceived Organizational Support (POS), Job Enjoyment, and Career Development each have a negative and significant effect on job hopping motives. The findings further reveal that Job Enjoyment is the most dominant factor in reducing job hopping motives among young professionals. Therefore, organizations are encouraged not only to provide formal support and career opportunities but also to actively foster a positive and enjoyable work environment to minimize job hopping motives among young employees.
