The aim of this publication is to map publication trends on the topic of women's leadership, including authors who write extensively on the topic, organizations involved in the publication, and publication trends from year to year. The method used is bibliometric analysis using VosViewer. The data used is from the Scopus database with the search keyword “women's leadership,” yielding 74,046 documents, consisting of 54,288 journal articles, 6,582 book chapters, 4,747 reviews, 3,568 conference proceedings, 2,497 books, 1,046 notes, 707 editorials, 311 short surveys, 164 letters, 70 errata, 32 conference reviews, 26 retracted publications, and 6 data papers. The results of the analysis show that publication trends from 1980 to 2024 have continued to increase significantly. The two authors with the most publications are not primarily focused on the social sciences. Two institutions have the highest number of publications on “women's leadership in education,” namely the University of Alabama and Northwestern University. Authors from these two universities are known to have collaborated on publications. Further recommendations suggest that publications on the “women's leadership in education” theme can be developed into empirical research, particularly by connecting it to other fields of study.

Abstract

Indonesia has a tiered government structure from the national to local levels, where village governments play a strategic role in regulating and managing national development interests. The village head, as a leader elected by the community supported by the village apparatus, has a strategic role in realizing good public services at the village level. The quality of service and the achievement of village development targets are highly dependent on the optimal performance of village apparatus. However, based on data and interviews with village officials in Karangtengah District, Cianjur Regency, it was found that the phenomenon of complaints such as inadequate compensation and low digital literacy is still one of the obstacles in optimizing the performance of village officials in Karangtengah District, Cianjur Regency. This study aims to find out how compensation and digital literacy affect the performance of village apparatus in Karangtengah District, Cianjur Regency both simultaneously and partially. This study uses a quantitative method approach, with the purpose of research being causal descriptive. Data was collected through a survey from a sample of village apparatus taken from 16 villages as many as 118 people, then analyzed using the Partial Least Square Structural Equation Model (PLS-SEM) method to test the relationship between the variables studied. It is hoped that the results of this study can show that compensation and digital literacy have a significant influence on the performance of village apparatus. Thus, this research can make an important contribution to local governments in formulating policies that can support increasing compensation and digital literacy of village officials. With this policy, it is hoped that village officials will be able to work more optimally in providing services to the community.

Abstract

The rapid growth of startup companies in Indonesia, driven by digitalization, has positioned Generation Z as a significant part of the workforce. This generation is known for being highly adaptive to technology and strongly oriented toward personal values. However, their high turnover intention presents a major challenge for organizational sustainability. Given their dynamic and selective nature in choosing workplaces, it is crucial to understand the factors influencing their decision to stay. Two key factors are job satisfaction and organizational commitment, which reflect both professional fulfillment and employees’ attachment to their organizations. This study aims to examine the influence of job satisfaction and organizational commitment on turnover intention among Generation Z employees in startup companies. A quantitative approach was used, involving a survey of 280 Gen Z employees from various startups. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results show that both job satisfaction and organizational commitment have a significant negative effect on turnover intention. In other words, higher levels of satisfaction and commitment are associated with a lower tendency to leave the organization. These findings offer practical insights for startup management in developing more effective retention strategies tailored to Generation Z characteristics. Enhancing job satisfaction and strengthening organizational commitment are key to fostering a stable and productive work environment.

Abstract

The pharmaceutical manufacturing industry in Indonesia faces increasing challenges in attracting Generation Z talent. Understanding the factors influencing their intention to apply for a job is crucial for maintaining competitiveness and innovation. Generation Z has a lower intention to apply for jobs in the manufacturing sector compared to the informal and service sectors. This is due to their preference for flexibility and autonomy, which are often limited in manufacturing. The strict regulations to ensure product quality and safety, rural factory locations, and shift-based work systems make manufacturing less appealing to them. This study aims to identify the factors influencing the intention to apply for a job among Generation Z in Indonesia’s pharmaceutical manufacturing sector. A quantitative approach was used, involving 204 Generation Z employees across Indonesia. Most respondents are contract-based with less than two years of experience, offering insights into early-career perspectives. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS. The results show that job characteristics significantly influence the intention to apply for a job, both directly and indirectly through employer attractiveness. Employer attractiveness also has a significant direct effect on the intention to apply for a job. These findings suggest that improving job design and strengthening employer branding are effective strategies to attract Generation Z. The study offers practical implications for HR practices in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry.

Abstract

Human resource management plays a crucial role in organizational success, with employees expected to contribute effectively to company goals. This study examines the impact of dual role conflict and work stress on the performance of female employees in Bandung Regency. These factors are particularly relevant for women, who often face the challenge of balancing work responsibilities with family duties. The study uses a quantitative approach with causal descriptive research, involving 140 married female employees from the formal sector. Data was collected through questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results reveal that both dual role conflict and work stress significantly negatively affect female employees' performance, explaining 41.7% of performance variations. The study concludes that organizations should implement policies such as work flexibility, stress management programs, and supportive environments to help female employees manage these challenges. These strategies can improve productivity and job satisfaction, thereby enhancing overall organizational performance. Additionally, further research is recommended to explore other influencing factors such as social support and leadership styles to provide a more comprehensive understanding of female employees' work-life dynamics.

Abstract

The incidence of cyberloafing among Generation Z workers, combined with poor work discipline, is a cause for concern regarding workplace productivity. Research indicates that individual internet use is highest at the start and end of working hours, which implies that patterns of digital engagement could impact performance. This study explains the impact of cyberloafing and workplace discipline on employee performance of Generation Z employees in Bandung City using quantitative techniques with Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) of survey data of 140 employees. The findings show that cyberloafing has a positive impact on employee performance (path coefficient: 0.255, T-statistic: 2.977, P-value: 0.003), which could be taken as a mental break to enhance productivity. Work discipline has a greater positive impact (path coefficient: 0.569, T-statistic: 8.202, P-value: 0.000), highlighting its significant role in workplace efficiency. The model explains 34.1% of employee performance is determined by Cyberloafing and Work Discipline (R² = 0.341). This study refutes the belief that cyberloafing merely hinders productivity, as it can have positive impacts when controlled. Organizations would have to reassess strict internet policies and allow reasonable cyberloafing as mental relaxation while enforcer organized control to optimize effectiveness. These views lead HR professionals to strike a balance between efficiency and employee convenience in the cyberspace workplace.
