Abstract

Abstract

Food consumption habits nowadays are diverse, particularly the many choices of processed and quick food at low prices, which, including among students, are unhealthy and unsafe, with unbalanced nutritional levels that can cause a variety of degenerative diseases. This study aimed to describe students' intentions to stop consuming risky foods, grounded in the theory of planned behaviour (TPB). This study is a quantitative descriptive study conducted with second- and fourth-semester students in the public health study program. The sample was selected using accidental sampling, resulting in 87 students participating in the questionnaire. The data were analyzed descriptively and presented in tables and narratives. The study shows that fatty meat/offal, canned foods, pickled foods, and dried sweets are consumed frequently. The non-intentional group comprised processed cheese, frozen sweets and ice cream, quick noodles, and fried foods. Among 10 dangerous foods, fried foods, processed cheese, pickles, and frozen desserts are the least likely to be substituted. Most responders were unsure of the quitting time. Students did not plan to quit unhealthy foods. Students did not have a firm intention to stop consuming hazardous foods such as processed cheese, frozen sweets, instant noodles, and fried foods.

Abstract

Interactive games are increasingly used in early childhood health education for their ability to merge learning with play. This systematic review evaluated the effectiveness of interactive games in improving health literacy and behaviors among children aged 4–12 years. A systematic search was conducted in accordance with PRISMA 2020 guidelines. Of 312 records, 20 met inclusion criteria and were appraised using the Joanna Briggs Institute tool. Studies, originating from the US, Greece, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Brazil, examined digital games (n=12), board games (n=5), and role-play simulations (n=3) targeting personal hygiene, nutrition, physical activity, and emotional health. Seventy-five percent reported significant improvements in knowledge, and 60% documented positive behavioral changes at short-term follow-up. Common benefits included increased engagement (85% of studies) and enhanced socio-emotional skills. Study quality was mostly moderate; few included follow-up beyond six months. Interactive games show strong potential to enhance children’s health education, but technological access and lack of long-term evaluation remain barriers. Future work should focus on high-quality, longitudinal studies and integration into school and community health programs.

Abstract

Electro-capacitive cancer therapy (ECCT), a less invasive and more targeted approach using wearable electric field detectors, is revolutionizing cancer therapy, a complex process involving traditional methods like surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation. The review aims to investigate the safety and efficacy of electric field exposure in vital organs, particularly in cancer therapy, to improve medical advancements. It will investigate the impact on cytokines and insulation integrity, as well as contribute to improving diagnostic techniques and safety measures in medical and engineering fields. Wearable electric field detectors have revolutionized cancer therapy by offering a non-invasive and personalized approach to treatment. These devices, such as smart caps or patches, measure changes in electric fields by detecting capacitance alterations. Their lightweight, comfortable, and easy to-wear nature allows for real-time monitoring, providing valuable data for personalized treatment plans. The portability of wearable detectors allows for long-term surveillance outside clinical settings, increasing therapy efficacy. The ability to collect data over extended periods provides a comprehensive view of electric field dynamics, aiding researchers in understanding tumor growth and progression. Technology advancements in electro-capacitive therapy, including wearable devices, have revolutionized cancer treatment by adjusting electric field intensity in real-time, enhancing personalized medicine, and improving treatment outcomes and patient quality of life.
