Abstract

Cases of drug abuse and illicit trafficking are increasingly worrying. Drug users continue to increase. Data shows that urban areas are more prone to drug abuse and illicit trafficking than rural areas. The Drug-Free Village Program has been implemented in Kediri City since 2020. This program can help reduce drug vulnerability in the Kediri City area. In addition, it can also reduce the number of drug abuse in Kediri City. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the Drug-Free Village Program in Kediri City from the aspects of input, process, and output. This research is a qualitative study with a case study approach. The determination of the research location is based on the Circular Letter of the National Narcotics Agency of the Republic of Indonesia concerning Data on Drug-Prone Areas of the Year. The data collection technique used in this study was in-depth interviews. The selection of informants in this study used purposive sampling techniques. The research instrument used interview guidelines and achievement sheets for the success assessment indicators of the Drug-Free Village Program. The results of the study showed that the Drug-Free Village Program in Dandangan Village and Ngampel Village had achieved the success assessment indicators for the Drug-Free Village. However, community participation in providing information regarding drug abuse and illicit trafficking has not been optimal, with some residents still reluctant to report cases. The Drug-Free Village Program must be sustainable to eradicate Indonesia’s drug abuse and illicit trafficking problems.

Abstract

Introduction: Potable water needs to satisfy quality criteria for microbiological, chemical, and physical. Consuming water that fails to comply with established quality standards can lead to illnesses, including diarrhea. In Tangerang City, based on environment-related disease counseling data from 2024, diarrhea had the highest number of cases. The study examined the influence of DAM sanitary hygiene on the microbiological quality of refilled potable water and to map the distribution of DAM in Tangerang City in 2024. Methods: The study employed a quantitative analytic observation with a cross-sectional method and a secondary data analysis (SDA) with a geographic information system (GIS). Independent variable in this study is the assessment results of the sanitary hygiene DAM and dependent variable is the microbiological quality laboratory test result. The sample consisted of 104 DAM across Tangerang City. Data analysis utilized the Chi-square and binary logistic regression tests. Spatial analysis for thematic map creation was performed using QGIS. Results and Discussion: The results showed that 72.1% of DAM met the sanitary hygiene requirements but 63.5% still had microbiological contaminants. Statistical test results showed that the sanitary hygiene of DAM had a significant partial effect on the microbiological quality of drinking water with a p-value=0.002 (p<0.05). Conclusion: The study concluded that the sanitary hygiene of DAM affects the microbiological quality of drinking water. Other variabels outside the assessment aspects also contribute, such as a contact time of UV light or disinfection equipment, maintenance of filters, and water source quality.

Abstract

Background: Infectious diseases are still common in Indonesia, one of which is malaria. Data contained in the 2023 Indonesian Health Survey (IHS) showed that the highest prevalence of malaria was found in all provinces on the island of Papua. This study aims to determine the relationship between preventive behavior and access to health care facilities with the incidence of malaria. Methods: This study is a quantitative study with analytic observational research design and cross sectional approach.Result: The results of this study showed an association between insecticide-treated bed nets, mosquito bite prevention materials, mosquito repellent, ventilation gauze with malaria incidence and no association between access to health care facilities in the difficult category with malaria incidence. Conclusion : This study explains that there is a significant relationship between insecticide-treated mosquito nets, mosquito repellents, and ventilation screens and the incidence of malaria as protective factors. There is a significant relationship between mosquito bite prevention factors and the incidence of malaria as risk factors, and there is no relationship between access to health care facilities and the incidence of malaria.

Abstract

Breast Massage and Stress Management: Strategies for Preventing Mastitis in Breastfeeding Mothers Abstract Mastitis often occurs due to milk stasis, which not only affects maternal health but also interferes with exclusive breastfeeding for infants. The Laras ASI (Pelatihan Rumat ASI) program was implemented to reduce the risk of mastitis among breastfeeding mothers through education on lactation massage, stress management, and nutritional fulfillment. Unlike previous studies, this program adopts a novel approach by integrating lactation massage, stress management, and nutritional education into a single, comprehensive community-based intervention. Conducted in Mojokerto with 13 breastfeeding mothers as participants, the program employed lectures, demonstrations, simulations, and consultations, supported by e-modules to facilitate understanding. Evaluation using pre-test and post-test assessments revealed an increase in the average score from 79.08 to 82.77, indicating improved knowledge on lactation massage, stress management, and nutrition. Additionally, the program enhanced awareness of breast care, thereby supporting the success of exclusive breastfeeding and the prevention of mastitis.

Abstract

The consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages (SSB) is increasingly common among university students, raising concerns about long-term metabolic risks. This study aimed to describe SSB consumption patterns among university students in Malang City. A descriptive cross-sectional survey was conducted in July–August 2024 using an online questionnaire distributed through voluntary sampling. A total of 382 students participated. Data collected included demographics and SSB consumption habits; body weight and height were self-reported with instructions to refer to recent measurements. Results showed that 73.8% of students consumed SSB, most often during the day, with packaged tea being the most preferred type. Taste (45.3%) and affordability (38.7%) were the main purchase reasons, and minimarkets were the most common place of purchase. Overall, SSB intake among students was high, highlighting the need for educational interventions to promote healthier beverage choices.
