Abstract

Objective: This study aims to critically review gender differences in empathy among early adults in Indonesia, considering the influencing factors. Method: A systematic literature review identified relevant articles using predefined keywords through comprehensive Indonesian and international database searches. Inclusion criteria required articles to be published between 2015 and 2025 in reputable journals, involve Indonesian early adult participants, and explicitly address gender-related differences in empathy.  Results: Based on the screening results, 12 articles met the specified criteria. After the analysis, no consistent results were found regarding gender differences in empathy, but there were consistent patterns. The research results indicate that significant differences between men and women can vary depending on the sample involved, the education pursued, and the family background. Novelty: This study maps context-specific empathy differences based on gender within Indonesian culture. It also highlights empathy during early adulthood– a transitional life stage still underexplored in local research, especially from a gender perspective.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to investigate the contributing factors to identity insecurity among adolescents in the context of rapid digital development and intense social interaction. Method: A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach was employed by analyzing nine peer-reviewed articles published between 2019 and 2025, focusing on psychological theories, social dynamics, and the influence of social media. Results: The findings reveal that excessive use of social media, a strong tendency toward social comparison, low self-esteem, feelings of loneliness, and external social pressures significantly contribute to identity insecurity in adolescents. These factors disrupt the formation of a stable self-concept, especially in environments shaped by digital idealization and societal expectations. Novelty: This study offers a comprehensive synthesis of interdisciplinary perspectives, integrating psychological and sociocultural insights to enhance understanding of adolescent identity development in the digital era. The research emphasizes the urgency of targeted digital literacy programs and personalized counseling interventions to mitigate identity insecurity risks.

Abstract

Malaysia is the main destination country for Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI), with around 450,000 PMI recorded in 2024. Many migrant workers bring their children to live in the destination country. Although Law No. 6 of 2012 has regulated the rights of migrant workers' children, in reality many children have difficulty accessing education and health services due to limited information. This study aims to explore the psychological dynamics of children of Indonesian migrant workers in Malaysia. This study uses a qualitative phenomenology design approach. This study involved three informants of migrant worker children aged 12-18 years who live with their parents in Malaysia. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis methods. The results of the study show that migrant workers' children face various challenges in achieving their future, thus forming the development of psychological dynamics. The psychological dynamics of future hopes for migrant workers' children are not formed singly, but through a complex process and mutual influence or reciprocity between personal, environmental and behavior taken. This research is expected to provide deeper insight into the psychological conditions of migrant workers' children, as well as provide policy recommendations to support their welfare, especially in terms of education and access to other basic services.

Abstract

Abstract

This paper studies the drivers that have a significant impact on organizational resilience in terms of ransomware attacks in the hospitality industry of Indonesia, with a particular focus on hotels operating in Bali. The interviews with IT managers in two of the most important hotels were conducted using in-depth interviews. They showed that the ransomware attacks caused severe operational disturbances and a loss of consumer confidence. Despite these, several proactive measures have been put in place by the hotels, and this has emanated through the strong leadership from the senior management to upgrade cybersecurity infrastructure and to instigate staff awareness programs. The findings pinpoint budget limitations and inadequate training, which align with the existing literature, as some of the important obstacles. The work underlines the desperate need for adaptive strategies in cybersecurity and develops an understanding that a collective organizational commitment is required toward sensitive data protection and good reputation building. Indeed, the research points out that creating security awareness among all employees would genuinely enhance the culture of cybersecurity and resilience. Collaboration between industry players and governmental bodies may provide the required wherewithal and frameworks for building up strength with which the ransomware threat could be tackled effectively. Given the practical recommendations, it might be useful to consider how to make the hospitality industry resilient in the case of ransomware attacks

Abstract

Turnover intention refers to an employee's tendency or desire to quit or change jobs voluntarily without coercion. Many startups struggle to retain employees long-term, primarily due to the often demanding nature of their work, the uncertainty surrounding the company's direction, and a lack of career clarity. This study employed a systematic literature review, an approach to identifying, reviewing, interpreting, and evaluating all relevant research on the topic under study. This involves defining appropriate research questions and systematically reviewing and identifying journals based on predetermined steps. The results indicate that companies need an integrated approach to addressing turnover intention, particularly among millennial employees. Identifying factors such as compensation, incivility, work quality, mental health, and reward systems, as well as how employee characteristics influence responses to these factors, is an important initial step. It can be concluded that several factors significantly influence employee turnover intention, including workplace incivility, compensation, quality of work life, mental health, and the company's reward system. Each of these factors is interrelated and can strengthen or weaken an employee's desire to remain with the company.
