Abstract

Indonesia is the part of developing Asian countries, until now still not declared free from various types of tropical diseases.  Whereas, several years ago Indonesia has declared free from various kinds of tropical diseases, but in fact, tropical diseases up to  now still cannot be eliminated. Moreover the prevalence rates of tropical diseases tended to increase from year to year. One of the reasons Indonesia is a tropical climate, but in fact we are not able to control the climate. In this condition, what we can do is to raise public awareness so the spread of the disease can be controlled. It was time for an early awareness efforts conducted in a participatory manner by all stakeholders. In this case, stakeholders can be health practitioners, researchers, policy makers (official), and even the citizens. Participatory awareness can be enhanced if we have an integrated system that can accommodate all knowledge about tropical disease. The knowledge consists of characteristic about disease, potential risk, how to cure, how to isolate disease in community, and absolutely important is how to prevent of illness, etc. This paper aims to propose an integrated system called Tropical Disease Knowledge Management System (TDKMS) for enhancing the participatory awareness.

Abstract

AFIS 1.0 is a helpful communication tool for sending and receiving automatically operated Morse lamp signal news. In this study, researchers developed AFIS 1.0 because there were still some shortcomings in the previous device, namely that AFIS 1.0 was still operated using a PC, could not store its power, could not be portable, and was not equipped with recorded data. This study aims to identify the attributes of AFIS 1.0, redesign the prototype AFIS 1.0 according to the attributes obtained and test the results of the prototype AFIS 2.0. The method used in this study is ethnography, where the researcher directly observes respondents in the field. Kansei engineering is used to translate respondents' psychological feelings and needs into product design parameters. The results of this study are in the form of a prototype AFIS 2.0 with the Android operating system, equipped with a rechargeable battery, can be installed permanently and portable, equipped with data recording, Morse complex and the tool can be operated automatically or manually. In testing the results of the prototype AFIS 2.0 conducted by the Head of KRI SIM-366 and the Head of KRI Nala-363, it was stated that the tool can be appropriately operated so that AFIS 2.0 can answer respondents' wishes in the field. With the development of AFIS 2.0, it is hoped that communication with soldiers on KRI will be more straightforward in sending and receiving news of Morse lamp signals.

Abstract

Introduction: The Frequency Rate (FR) of workplace accidents in 2019 was recorded at 3.4, meaning that for every million work hours, there were 3.4 cases of workplace accidents. In 2020, the FR increased to 3.6, and in 2021, it further rose to 3.8. Therefore, companies need to make improvements to reduce the number of work accidents by investing some resources in the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) investment program. This study aims to develop a conceptual framework for analyzing the OSH investment program by considering its benefits and costs. Methods: Hierarchy of controls was used in this study to classify and identify OSH programs, OSH investment items, and OSH implementation options. The in-depth interview was also conducted by involving several experts to formulate and justify the items in the conceptual framework. Result: This study resulted in 2 main aspects, namely carefully chosen OSH experts to ensure reliable and relevant information collected and involving a detailed analysis of different data levels (3, 2, and 1) along with a breakdown of costs for each level 1 data. Conclusion: The finding of this study is a conceptual framework to help and direct companies in order to analyze the selection of OSH programs, OSH investment items, and OSH implementation options by prioritizing the hierarchy of controls.

Abstract

The development of electricity facilities and infrastructure plays a vital role in supporting the economic, social, and cultural activities of a nation. The success of construction projects, including transmission towers, can be measured based on the triple constraint, namely correct quality, timely and cost-effective. These three things can be achieved through human resource management. This study aims to measure the influence of human resource management which includes HR planning, project leadership support, organizational structure, and provision of training on the success of electricity projects (transmission towers) in West Papua Province. This study uses a cross-sectional approach to determine the relationship among the variables studied. A partial disaggregation approach with Structure Equation Modeling - Partial Least Square using SmartPLS was carried out to measure the causal relationship among the observed variables. Based on hypothesis testing, it was identified that each variable influences the success of the electricity project, where the provision of training has the greatest influence. Overall the goodness of the model in measuring the relationship between the four factors on project success is shown by the R2 value of 0.880 which is categorized as a strong influence.

Abstract

The global adoption of Agile methodologies in virtual IT teams presents a fundamental conflict with the principle of face-to-face communication, with temporal distance posing a primary operational barrier. This research identifies and analyzes the adaptive time-coordination tactics that globally dispersed Agile teams employ to overcome this challenge. The study utilized a qualitative, phenomenological approach, conducting semi-structured interviews with practitioners from teams spanning up to a 15-hour time zone difference. The analysis reveals that effective teams do not force full-day synchronization but instead strategically leverage a limited synchronous ‘overlap window’ for high-bandwidth collaboration. Complementing this, teams implement a disciplined ‘asynchronous handoff’ to create a continuous, 24-hour workflow, transforming temporal separation into a strategic advantage. Key findings also show that teams pragmatically reconfigure Agile ceremonies, often replacing daily stand-ups with asynchronous updates, and foster individual autonomy to maintain productivity. The study concludes that success in virtual Agile environments hinges on a flexible framework of emergent, context-aware tactics rather than rigid adherence to traditional practices. These insights provide actionable strategies for managers to enhance the temporal efficiency and coordination of virtual projects.

Abstract

After the merger of PT Pelindo, PT Pelindo Terminal Petikemas became one of the sub-holding companies in containers. In maintaining consistency with the implementation of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) after the merger, PT Pelindo Terminal Petikemas needs to understand the importance of safety leadership, safety culture, safety behavior, and safety performance in the OHS program's success. The study aimed to determine the effect of safety leadership on safety culture and safety performance, the effect of safety culture and safety behavior on safety performance, and safety behavior to act as a mediation between safety leadership and safety performance, and safety culture on safety performance at PT Pelindo Terminal Petikemas. The samples of 130 employees are then analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with SmartPLS software. The results showed that safety leadership has a significant effect on safety culture and safety performance. Safety culture and safety behavior have a significant effect on safety performance. Safety behavior can mediate between safety culture and performance, while safety behavior cannot act as a mediation between safety leadership and performance. This research implies that PT Pelindo Terminal Petikemas's management can select several strong and trustworthy employees from each terminal who merge to lead initiatives regarding company safety and communicate with the central command.

Abstract

This study applied the perspective of Safety-II using the Functional Resonance Analysis Method (FRAM) and the Resilience Analysis Grid (RAG) to analyze safety in warehouse operations from a system perspective. FRAM was used to emphasize what caused things to go right, with the findings highlighting higher performance and safety variability occurring in activities that require multiple individual or group efforts. RAG was used to assess the organization’s potentialto handle unexpected occurrences, identify the potential resilience of the warehouse in its daily activities, and evaluate the ability to maintain flow and workersafety based on four pillars of resilience. The assessment resulted in a value of 3.50 in the ability to respond, 2.84 in the ability to monitor, 3.88 in the abilityto learn, and 3.21 in the ability to anticipate. Combining FRAM and RAG enhances the depth of a new perspective of safety analysis and addresses resilience factors in daily operations.
