Abstract

The expansion of the global textile industry has resulted in a decline in environmental quality. Environmental pollution resulting from textile dye waste may include heavy metals and dyes, which exhibit carcinogenic and mutagenic effects. Many studies have been done to reduce the harm of dyes. Extensive research has been undertaken to mitigate the detrimental effects of dyes. One cost-effective approach for managing dye pollution is the adsorption of methylene blue using sulfuric acid-activated teak sawdust. Teak wood sawdust, a byproduct of the furniture industry that is abundant and underutilized, contains active sites within its constituent compounds, including cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin. This study was designed to determine the ability of teak sawdust to adsorb methylene blue. In this investigation, the biosorbent will be characterized using fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and scanning electron microscopy-energy dispersive X-ray (SEM-EDX) to analyze its active sites and surface morphology. Additionally, the study aimed to elucidate the impact of variation contact time, pH solution, and alteration in methylene blue concentration on the adsorption capacity for methylene blue, employing a UV-Vis spectrophotometer for measurement. The research results demonstrated that optimal adsorption occurred at a contact time of 30 minutes and a pH of 6, with the adsorption efficiency reaching 99.67% as a function of contact time. The kinetic study was modeled using a pseudo-second-order approach, with a kinetic constant of 79.71 g mg⁻¹ min⁻¹. The maximum adsorption capacity was 1.351 mg g⁻¹, the n value was 1, and the percentage of methylene blue adsorbed reached 99.88%.

Abstract

Dewasa ini boraks dan formalin banyak sekali digunakan dalam industri makanan, seperti: dalam pembuatan mie basah, tahu putih, tahu kuning, bakso, sosis, dan ikan asin. Padahal zat kimia ini merupakan bahan beracun dan bahan berbahaya bagi manusia sehingga sangat dilarang digunakan sebagai bahan baku makanan. Kebanyakan masyarakat mengira bahwa pengujian boraks dan formalin dalam makanan yang dapat dibuktikan kebenarannya, harus dilakukan di laboratorium sehingga memerlukan biaya mahal, padahal ada beberapa cara sederhana yang dapat dilakukan tanpa harus melakukannya di laboratorium. Sehingga perlu adanya alternatif cara identifikasi kandungan boraks maupun formalin pada makanan dengan cara yang sederhana (simple method) dan bisa dilakukan di rumah menggunakan bahan-bahan yang ada di sekitar kita tanpa harus dilakukan di laboratorium dengan menggunakan bahan-bahan kimia. Dalam kegiatan ini, alternatif yang bisa dilakukan yaitu menggunakan kunyit untuk identifikasi boraks dan getah pepaya muda untuk identifikasi formalin. Target kegitan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang ingin dicapai adalah : (1) memberikan pengetahuan tentang bahaya boraks dan formalin bagi kesehatan; (2) memberikan informasi melalui penyuluhan tentang ciri-ciri makanan yang mengandung boraks dan formalin; (3) pelatihan tentang pengujian bahan makanan yang mengandung boraks dan formalin menggunakan simple method; (4) mitra mempu menerapkan cara pengujian boraks dan formalin di kehidupan sehari-hari sehingga kesehatan keluarga lebih terjamin.

Abstract

Kesadaran Kebersihan dan Pengelolaan Sampah yang baik merupakan salah satu kebiasaan yang dapat berdampak pada kesehatan yang lebih baik. Kepedulian yang minim dalam menjaga lingkungan yang bersih diprediksi akan menimbulkan dampak buruk bagi lingkungan dan masyarakat. Selain itu, pengelolaan air bersih pada lingkungan merupakan salah satu hal yang perlu diperhatikan. Pengetahuan tentang pengolahan air bersih melalui Instalasi Pengelolaan Air Limbah (IPAL) akan memberikan dampak positif bagi keberlansungan air bersih di lingkungan masyarakat. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilakukan dengan Sosialisasi melalui pendekatan modal sosial. Pendekatan modal sosial dilakukan dalam pelaksanaan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dimana pendekatan ini digunakan sebagai wadah sosialisasi menjaga kebersihan lingkungan dan pengetahuan dalam pengolahan air bersih bagi msayarakat di Desa Muara Angke. Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mensosialisasikan cara mengelola dan mengkategorikan macam-macam sampah, pengelolaan air bersih, dan desalinasi air yang dilakukan di daerah Muara Angke, Kecamatan Penjaringan, Jakarta Utara. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi langsung dan kuesioner yang diisi oleh peserta sebelum dan sesudah program pelatihan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa kesadaran masyarakat meningkat yang dilihat dari hasil tes yang dilakukan menunjukkan peningkatan nilai dari materi yang di ujikan. Pendekatan yang tepat berhasil membangkitkan semangat dan komitmen warga yang tercermin dari tingginya tingkat partisipasi. Pelaksanaan kegiatan ini diharapkan memberikan pengetahuan dan kesadaran masyarakat dalam menjaga kebersihan lingkungan dan pengolahan air bersih.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the improvement in learning outcomes of the Greatest Common Divisor (GCD) and Lowest Common Multiple (LCM) by developing the Safari Numbered Model (SNM). Further, the activeness of students was also measured. The method used in this study was a quasi-experimental. Data collection was carried out using a test instrument to obtain students' mathematics learning outcomes and a questionnaire to measure the activeness of the students. Data analysis is carried out using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov (KS) test and a two-way ANOVA statistical test. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that the implementation of SNM can improve the learning outcomes in GCD and LCM. But the student’s activeness does not affect learning outcomes because the student has been active since the beginning of the lesson.

Abstract

Luka bakar menyebabkan kerusakan jaringan ditandai penurunan aktivitas scavenging dan antioksidan. Ekstrak Ikan gabus kaya akan protein hewani sumber albumin, yang berkhasiat dalam mempercepat proses penyembuhan luka. Haematococcus pluvialis merupakan mikroalga yang mengandung senyawa astaxantin dengan aktivitas antioksidan lebih poten dibanding beta karoten dan vitamin E. Penelitian terhadap penggunaan kedua bahan tersebut dalam sediaan gel bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas gel kombinasi astaxantin dan ekstrak ikan gabus untuk luka bakar disertai evaluasi sediaan gel. Uji efektivitas diawali pengkondisian luka bakar terbuka pada tikus, kemudian luka diolesi gel F0 (basis), gel F1 (kontrol positif), gel F2 (gel ekstrak ikan gabus 10 g dan astaxantin 0,0032 g) dan gel uji F3 (ekstrak ikan gabus 15 g dan astaxantin 0,0032 g). Terhadap gel uji dilakukan standarisasi ekstrak dan evaluasi gel. Efektivitas gel diuji melalui pengamatan dan pengukuran luka bakar berbentuk lingkaran pada tikus, disertai perhitungan persentase penyembuhan. Hasil pengukuran diameter luka bakar setelah perlakuan didapat, rata rata diameter luka pada F0 8,87 mm, F1 6,79 mm, F2 2,50 nm dan F3 1,91 mm. sedangkan data rata rata persentase penyembuhan F0 62,93 %, F1 45,08%, F2 87,49 %, dan F3 89.92%. Data dianalis menggunakan SPSS versi 16. Hasill analisa menunjukan bahwa gel basis, kontrol positif dan gel uji tidak memiliki perbedaan yang signikan terhadap kemampuan penyembuhan

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of anti-fraud awareness and internal control on preventing fraud in senior high schools in the city of Palembang. This type of research is associative research, the data used is primary and secondary data. Data collection methods include interviews and questionnaires. The data analysis technique uses the For Special Science (SPSS) program. The research results show that anti-fraud awareness and internal control together have an effect on preventing fraud. Anti-fraud awareness influences fraud prevention and internal control influences partial fraud prevention.

Abstract

The focus of this research is to analyze the odd semester final exam questions in the Arabic language subject for class X-IPS students at MA Walisongo Tapung Kampar for the 2022/2023 academic year. The goal is for Arabic language teachers to be able to create good measuring tools to measure students' level of understanding. The research uses a quantitative approach with a data collection model obtained from student answer sheet documents. The data obtained were analyzed using the Ms program. Excel and explained descriptively based on the level of validity, reliability and difficulty of each multiple choice question item. The research results show: (1) The results of the validity test found that from question numbers 1-15, 9 questions were included in the valid question category (60%) and 6 questions were included in the invalid question category (40%). (2) The results of the reliability test using the RK20 formula showed that the level of reliability of the multiple choice question test was 0.6, this shows that it is included in the medium category. (3) The results of the analysis of the level of difficulty show that between questions 1 to 15 there are 10 questions (33.33%) which are included in the "Easy" question category, 1 question item (6.67%) is included in the "Medium" question category. and 4 questions (26.67%) were included in the "Difficult" question category.

Abstract

The “Beginner Brewer” community activity organized by Koffie Rakjat Semarang stands out as an informal learning space for individuals new to coffee brewing techniques, but so far there has been little scientific study regarding its impact on participants’ sensory experiences. This study aims to analyze how beginners understand and evaluate the flavor profile of Aceh Gayo single-origin coffee “Drama” through practical brewing sessions. The research method used a qualitative descriptive approach with data sources consisting of activity documentation, observations of popular articles, and direct quotations from participants’ experiences. The results showed that mentoring with simple techniques such as the V60 (1:15) and French Press (1:12) contributed to participants’ increased understanding of the fruity character and flavor complexity of “Drama,” which has flavor notes of passion fruit, pineapple, strawberry jam, rum, and palm sugar. Participants also reported that the inclusive learning environment made the brewing process easy and enjoyable, and encouraged continued interest in specialty coffee. In conclusion, this community activity is effective as an initial educational tool that shapes flavor perception and increases the confidence of beginner brewers in understanding specialty coffee.
