For prospective elementary education teachers, critical thinking and collaboration skills in project-based science learning can impact environmental awareness. Critical thinking and collaboration skills can affect prospective teachers' environmental awareness differently, especially in science learning with environmental material. This research aims to determine the effect of critical thinking and collaboration skills on environmental awareness. Correlational research was used to determine the relationship between the two variables. Research data was obtained from 114 prospective Elementary Education teachers at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang through project-based learning. Assessment of critical thinking skills was based on reports or essays from projects undertaken. The collaboration instrument was based on rubrics and peer questionnaires. The environmental awareness instrument used a 27-item questionnaire. The questionnaire was measured using a Likert scale of 1 (strongly disagree) – 4 (strongly agree). The data obtained was tested using SEM to determine the effect of critical thinking and collaboration skills on environmental awareness. The research results show that critical thinking and collaboration skills positively affect environmental awareness. This is indicated by a P-value for critical thinking skills is 0.047 0.05 and a P-value for collaboration skills is 0 0.05. Collaboration skills have a stronger effect on environmental awareness than critical thinking skills (path coefficients = 0.766). Indicators of collaboration skills tend to emphasize the aspect of caring more about others and the surrounding environment. The suggestion for further research is needed to see the effects of other variables on environmental awareness in project-based science learning, such as creative thinking and communication skills.

Abstract

Background: The study examines the effect of the Business Entry, Taxation, and Utility Services indicators from the World Bank’s Business Ready (B-READY) framework on Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) inflows. Objective: The analysis aims to compare how these regulatory indicators influence investment attractiveness in Emerging Market Economies (EMEs) and Advanced Economies (AEs). Methods: The study employs a quantitative approach using cross-sectional data from 32 countries included in the B-READY dataset. The estimation is conducted using the Weighted Least Squares (WLS) method to address heteroscedasticity in cross-country data. Results: The results show that Business Entry and Taxation have a positive and statistically significant effect on FDI inflows in the full sample and in Emerging Market Economies (EMEs). However, the findings indicate no significant effect of these variables in Advanced Economies (AEs). The Utility Services indicator does not show a statistically significant impact on FDI inflows in either group. These findings suggest that regulatory efficiency related to business establishment and taxation plays a more important role in attracting foreign investment in developing economies. Conclusion: Policymakers in emerging economies should prioritize regulatory reforms that simplify business registration procedures and improve the efficiency of tax administration to enhance investment attractiveness.

Abstract

This research investigated the influence of technology acceptance and perceived risk on purchase intention toward QRIS and investigated the possible difference between genders among undergraduate students. A quantitative approach was used with data collected from 374 respondents through an online questionnaire. Respondents were obtained by multistage sampling and the data was analyzed by multiple linear regression and independent-samples t-test using IBM SPSS Statistics version 25. The analysis showed that technology acceptance has a positive and significant effect on purchase intention. whereas perceived risk showed a significant but comparatively weaker negative relationship. Collectively, the two variables explained a substantial proportion of the variation in purchase intention. In addition, no significant gender differences were identified in technology acceptance, perceived risk, or purchase intention. The overall findings suggested that male and female students in Generation Z responded to QRIS in remarkably similar ways, reflecting an increasingly gender-neutral pattern of digital payment adoption.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to explore how Generation Z in East Java interprets and internalises financial values transmitted by millennial parents amid the dominance of digital technology and social media. Specifically, it examines how family financial teachings are renegotiated in the context of digital algorithms, peers, and contemporary consumer culture.Methodology – A qualitative phenomenological approach was employed to explore Gen Z's lived experiences of financial socialization. Data were gathered through semi-structured interviews with 25 Gen Z individuals and several millennial parents. Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) was used to generate themes and interpret meaning-making processes across cases.Findings – Four primary themes were discerned: (1) parental modeling, wherein daily financial routines cultivated prudence and budgeting skills; (2) financial conversations, characterized by dialogic negotiation that promoted reasoning and deferred gratification; (3) digital finance negotiation, where participants integrated parental norms with fintech practices, resulting in hybrid financial values; and (4) identity and social comparison, illustrating the tensions between familial values and social media-induced lifestyle pressures.Contribution – Financial value internalization among Indonesian Gen Z is both intergenerational and sociotechnical. The findings point out the need for financial education that integrates digital literacy, awareness of algorithmic influence, and strategies to manage social comparison pressures.
