Abstract

ABSTRACT This study describes directive discourse in advertising videos on the Agung Hapsah YouTube Channel. Agung Hapsah is a content creator who shows video tutorials, short films, daily videos, and advertising videos. Video advertisements that are displayed, there are advertising products such as electronic goods, applications, drinks. The video advertisement that is delivered contains directive discourse. Directive discourse is a series of utterances or sentences conveyed by speakers or writers to direct listeners or readers to do something. Directive discourse can be understood by knowing the context and function of directive discourse conveyed by Agung Hapsah to determine the authenticity of a discourse categorized as directive. In order to find the context, type, and function of directive discourse as a whole in this study, a descriptive qualitative research method was used. This study was analyzed using discourse analysis techniques with Tripp's theory. The results of this research relate to the description of the types of directive discourse, the context of directive discourse, and the function of directive discourse conveyed by Agung Hapsah in advertising products. The directive discourse is influenced by context to make it easier to convey advertisements that contain content.

Abstract

Hotma Sitompul (HS) merupakan kuasa hukum yang sering menangani kasus-kasus besar yang ada di Indonesia, salah satunya kasus Julian Eka Putra (JEP). Hotma Sitompul ketika membela Julian Eka Putra di podcast “close the door” Deddy Corbuzier terindikasi menggunakan tindak tutur asertif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan dan mendeskripsikan bentuk, fungsi, dan modus tindak tutur asertif Hotma Sitompul dalam kasus Julian Eka Putra pada podcast “close the door” Deddy Corbuzier. Data dalam penelitian ini berupa segmen tutur Hotma Sitompul dalam kasus Julian Eka Putra pada podcast “close the door” Deddy Corbuzier beserta koteks dan konteksnya. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini berupa peristiwa tutur dalam podcast “close the door” yang berjudul “Kita Putar Video Bukti Disini Sekarang! Hotma Sitompul VS Deddy Corbuzier!!- Konspirasi Korban JE.” Hasil penelitian ini, yaitu (1) bentuk tindak tutur asertif HS, meliputi menyatakan, memberitahukan, menuntut, melaporkan, dan memambanggakan. (2) fungsi tindak tutur asertif HS, meliputi fungsi bekerjasama, fungsi kompetitif, dan fungsi menyenangkan. (3) modus tindak tutur asertif HS, meliputi modus indikatif, modus imperatif, modus optatif, modus obligatif, modus interogatif, dan modus disideratif.

Abstract

Writing is the most complex language skill. In learning, writing is defined as the highest skill after listening, speaking, and reading skills. One of the competencies in the field of writing is presented in the material of writing news texts. To achieve this competency, an appropriate learning approach and technique are needed. Therefore, a scientific approach assisted by the mind mapping method was chosen. The scientific approach and the mind mapping method have a complementary relationship in the student-centered learning process. The scientific approach directs students to think logically and systematically through five stages, namely: observing, asking, collecting information, reasoning, and communicating. Meanwhile, the mind mapping method functions as an effective visual aid to organize ideas and information obtained during the scientific process. This study is an experimental study, which measures the significance of the difference between variable X (the experimental class that applies the scientific approach with the mind mapping method) and variable Y (the control class with the conventional model). The results of the t-test calculation show a significance of 0.035. In accordance with the decision-making guidelines, namely if the significance value is <0.05, then the alternative hypothesis (Ha) which states that there is a significant difference in the influence of the application of the scientific approach assisted by the mind mapping method on the news writing skills of class VII students at SMPS Nidhomiyyah is accepted. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the application of the scientific approach assisted by the mind mapping method can improve students' ability to write news texts.
