Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis model komunikasi sains yang diterapkan oleh Observatorium Ilmu Falak Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (OIF UMSU) dalam pelatihan Ilmu Falak di Vihara Vimalakirti, Medan. Kegiatan ini melibatkan anak-anak usia TK dan SD dari komunitas Buddhis beserta orang tua mereka. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan wawancara semi-terstruktur, penelitian ini mengidentifikasi penerapan empat model komunikasi sains: defisit, dialog, partisipatif, dan kontekstual. Model defisit berfungsi sebagai fondasi pengetahuan awal, sedangkan model dialog dan partisipatif mendorong keterlibatan peserta melalui diskusi dan eksperimen seperti peluncuran roket air dan pengamatan Matahari. Model kontekstual tampak dari penyesuaian kegiatan terhadap budaya dan agama peserta serta kerja sama lintas institusi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan komunikasi sains yang inklusif dan berbasis nilai toleransi efektif dalam meningkatkan literasi sains dan membangun ruang dialog antaragama. Studi ini menawarkan model edukasi sains transformatif bagi masyarakat majemuk.

Abstract

The brightness of the night sky is a necessity in astronomical observations. Sky with minimal light pollution can be optimized for observation and research. Light pollution is an obstacle in astronomical observations, one of the light pollution that affects the night sky a lot is artificial lights that are not properly conditioned. In this study, it is explained how the impact of artificial lights on good sky brightness using the Sky Quality Meter (SQM). By observing several nights, it was found that locations with a lot of light exposure can make the sky brighter ~3.3 times compared to locations with minimal light.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Implementasi Metode Mubasyaroh pada pembelajaran bahasa Arab di Pondok Pesantren Ar-Raudlatul Hasanah Medan. Penelitian ini didapatkan atas asumsi bahwa Metode Mubasyaroh merupakan salah satu metode yang baik untuk dijadikan metode dalam pembelajaran bahasa Arab dalam meningkatkan kualitas memahami dan mengucapkannya. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Sedangkan analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan analisis kaelan. Teknik keabsahan data menggunakan analisis tringulasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan analisis data disimpulkan bahwa Metode mubasyaroh adalah metode yang efektif digunakan di pesantren Ar-Raudlatul Hasanah Medan, mengingat metode ini dapat memudahkan siswa dalam memahami kosakata bahasa Arab dengan baik meskipun masih terdapat beberapa siswa yang kesulitan menghafal kosakata bahasa Arab disebabkan oleh masalah internal.

Abstract

The Global Islamic Calendar is a new breakthrough in the modern era with the aim of uniting all Muslims in a unified and integrated time scheduling system. In this regard, this study aims to analyze the dynamics of the global calendar and solutions to minimize differences in views. The research method used is qualitative based on literature study. Data analysis was conducted using content analysis. The results of the study revealed that the idea of a global calendar was motivated by the frequent differences in dropping the days of worship, especially Ramadan, Shawwal, and Zulhijah, not on the same day, even the difference reached more than two days. The idea of the Global Islamic Calendar has been rejected by a number of parties with all the reasons and rebuttals that cause the dynamics and discourse about it to continue to emerge. Considering the sharp differences, a moderate and tolerant attitude is needed from all parties because this issue is a fiqh issue that is prone to differences of opinion. Moderation and tolerance are the keys to the realization of the Global Islamic Calendar. This research certainly has implications for the improvement of Islamic knowledge, and also as an effort to unite the ukhuwah of the people.

Abstract

Istibdāl merupakan salah satu cara untuk menjaga kelestarian objek wakaf, sebagaimana yang ditetapkan oleh para fuqaha mazhab Hanafi. Penelitian ini mengungkap rumusan ulama klasik dan kontemporer tentang persoalan istibdāl objek wakaf pada tataran penerapan kajian Uṣūl Fikih sebagai teori yang dibangun dalam merumuskan hukum penggantian dan penjualan objek wakaf, serta pola istiṣlāḥī dalam menjawab permasalahan istibdāl wakaf. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kepustakaan, yaitu mengkaji dan menganalisis sumber-sumber tertulis tentang istibdāl wakaf, dengan pendekatan hukum yang menganalisis pendapat para tokoh tentang istibdāl wakaf. Sifat penelitian ini adalah deskriptif-analitis. Metode pengumpulan data dengan metode penelitian kepustakaan dengan bersandar atau menggunakan kartu tulis kepustakaan. Sumber data dari data kepustakaan. Penerapan Uṣūl Fikih sebagai konsep yang dibangun para ahli dalam merumuskan hukum istibdāl wakaf (penggantian dan penjualan objek wakaf) didasarkan pada empat konsep, yaitu: (1) ijmā, (2) aulāwiyyāt (masalah keutamaan), (3) hājat, (4) maṣlaḥah yaitu maṣlaḥah rājiḥah (yang nyata). Para ulama berbeda pendapat tentang kebolehan istibdāl. Ada yang bersifat ketat (muḍayyaq) dan longgar (muwassa') bahkan ada yang melarang sama sekali. Imam mazhab Malik, asy-Syafi'i dan Ahmad menanggapi masalah istibdāl dengan cukup ketat (muḍayyaq).

Abstract

Crescent observation as one of the practices carried out within the scope of falak science has an escalation in methods to adapt the development of science and technology. The development of crescent observation method has an impact on the observation time. In the past, observing crescent only focused when the sun had set, but now observing crescent can be done since the sun is still above the horizon. OIF UMSU as an institution engaged in the field of falak science also conducts crescent observations every month from noon. On November 25, 2022, OIF Barus Team managed to capture the new moon crescent at noon at 13:49 WIB with an elongation of 18°25'. This observation could maximizing existing instruments to obtain crescent images with smaller elongation.

Abstract

For a long time, Muslims were facing problems related to the determination of the Tarwiyah and the Arafat fasting day. In this case, whether Muslims should follow the Saudi Arabian calendar or the local one. In this study, Muslims differ in opinion, some argue that they should follow the Saudi Arabia calendar and others say that enough to follow the national calendar. The absence of unified calendar resulted in many problems faced by Muslims in assigning their holidays such as Ramadan, Shawwal, and Dhulhijah. To achieve Muslim unification in conducting various religious rituals, Muslims must have a unification dating system in order to realize togetherness in determining the worshipping time. This research is literature research. Thus the data that used in the form of books, journals, and other references. The results concluded that the determination of Tarwiyah and f Arafat Day until now still provides dispute among Muslims, there are those who argue specifically in determining the Dhulhijah beginning must be oriented to the Saudi Arabia kingdom’s determination. While others argue that assigning the worshipping time does not have to follow Saudi Arabia, just adhering to the nation’s determination

Abstract

TM. Ali Muda is a North Sumatran astronomy figure who came from Aceh. His work and contribution in the field of astronomy is beyond doubt. His thinking in the matter of determining the beginning of the month is to combine calculations and field observations. However, the tendency of his calculation (hisab) is also quite dominant which is shown by his analysis in various issues of celestial jurisprudence. Meanwhile, in the matter of matlak and Eid al-adha, the hajj-related services whose implementation is only in Mecca, according to him, are obliged to hold on to the matlak of Mecca, while those whose implementation is not only in Mecca are obliged to hold on to their respective matlak

Abstract

Astronomical phenomenon occur for only a limited amount of time. Observing these phenomenon requires competent promoters and appropriate instruments. The field of view is one of the things that needs to be clearly known so that the observation can take place properly. In this study, joint observations were made between IAIN Lhokseumawe Falak Science Study Programme and OIF UMSU in Medan and Barus. The instruments used in these observations are different, resulting in a variety of fields of view and calculations are needed to get a description of the results. This study aims to calculate the field of view and visibility of the observed phenomenon, the conjunction of the Moon - Jupiter. The results obtained are for the instrument used by IAIN Lhokseumawe Falak Science Study Program at Malikussaleh Observatory has a field of view of 2°7'46.13‘ × 1°25'22.25’, the instrument used by UMSU Medan Falak Science Observatory has a field of view of 1°8'26.96‘ × 0°54'45.57’, and the instrument used by the OIF UMSU Barus team has a field of view of 1°0'43.74’ × 0°41'1.98. Using this combination of instruments cannot observe the conjunction phenomenon, because the elongation of the Moon - Jupiter at the time of the observation is >4°, so to be able to get the visibility of the phenomenon in 1 image requires an instrument that produces a field of view of ~5°.

Abstract

Muhammadiyah as a tajdid (renewal) movement will continue to improve the system in determining the beginning of hijri month through studies, discussions seminars, and research so that the methods and criteria used are truly following the Qur’an, hadith and the Muslims needs in the world. This research purpose to analyze, explore, and discover the transformation and changes in methods made by Muhammadiyah to determine the new month. The research method in this study is a literature study, by conducting a study and book analysis, journals, Suara Muhammadiyah magazines, and related references that have a close relationship with the studies. Based on the study, it shows that Muhammadiyah has made several transformations in its ijtihad to determine the beginning of the new hijri month, starting from the hisab imkanur rukyat sytem, then replaced with the hisab ijtima’ qabl al-ghurub, and the last one was perfected with the hisab wujudul hilal.
