Abstract

Abstract Student worksheet based on the guided inquiry with the snakes and ladders game is one of innovation teaching materials that is used as an alternative learning in the class .This study aims to knowing the the influence of students worksheet based on the guided inquiry with the snakes and ladders game towards student motivation dan learning outcomes .This study research is an experimental research with a population of all students in a class of xi mipa senior high schools 4 jember , and the sample used is students of class XI MIPA 1 and XI MIPA 3.The result of this study shows that after implementing learning using LKS based on guided inquiry with the snakes and ladders game the average of student motivation and learning outcomes reaches 80,44% and 91,29, this result shows that a student motivated to learn after and their learning outcomes increase. Abstract

This study aims to describe the understanding of science concepts of junior high school students in the form of image representation through guided inquiry learning assisted with simulated PhET. This type of research is quantitative descriptive research. The study was conducted at SMP Negeri 2 Genteng. The research subjects were all students of class VIII A and VIII D with a total of 64 student respondents. The collection of data using the test, interview, observation, and documentation techniques. The data analysis technique is to use the Normalized N-Gain test to describe the ability of students' image representation. The results of data analysis showed an increase in understanding of the concept of science in the form of image representation with a value of g = 0.7. In conclusion, that the guided inquiry learning model assisted by the PhET simulation can improve the ability of students' science concepts in the form of Image Representation with high categories, which means that this learning is very effective.

Abstract

Critical thinking is one of the skills that must be possessed in studying science. During the Covid-19 pandemic, flipbooks and videos can be used as alternative media to improve students' critical thinking skills. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using flipbooks and videos in improving the critical thinking skills of junior high school students during the pandemic. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative. The data collected were in the form of students' pretest and posttest scores. The data were analyzed using the N-gain test and Independent Sample T-Test. The results showed: (1) learning videos were effective for improving students' critical thinking skills with an average score of 0.44 (medium) and (2) flipbooks were effective for improving students' critical thinking skills with an average score of 0.42 (medium). There is no significant difference between students' critical thinking skills, both after using flipbooks and videos.

Abstract

Pendidikan merupakan wadah untuk memberikan kesempatan kepada siswa agar dapat menemukan sendiri pengetahuan, sikap, dan keterampilan terutama yang terkait dengan keterampilan berpikir kritis. Secara konkret keberhasilan pendidikan dipengaruhi oleh proses pembelajaran sehingga ketepatan dalam pemilihan pendekatan, model, strategi, dan metode akan memberikan dampak yang besar terhadap learning outcome. Adapun solusi yang dapat diberikan yaitu dengan menggunakan pembelajaran berbasis masalah disertai local wisdom. Pembelajaran ini dapat diartikan sebagai rangkaian aktivitas pembelajaran yang menekan kepada proses penyelesaian masalah yang dihadapi secara ilmiah dengan didasarkan pada kearifan lokal. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah memberikan alternatif solusi terkait proses pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis IPA siswa SMP. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah study literature pada berbagai sumber yang terkait. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan solusi terkait peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis IPA siswa SMP.

Abstract

This study aimed to see how Think Pair Share (TPS) learning model combined with multi-representation-based student worksheet affected junior high school students' critical thinking abilities and learning outcomes. This type of research is a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group. The population in this study was all class VII MTsN 4 Banyuwangi (2021/2022). Data collection techniques using test observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique used a normality test and Independent Sample T-test with the help of SPSS 25 software. Following is the study's finding: (1) The TPS learning paradigm considerably impacts critical thinking skills, as evidenced by the experimental class's average critical thinking score increasing from 22.28 to 58.96; (2) Students in the experimental class form those in the control class in science. The experimental class's average learning outcome is 52, whereas the control class's average is 35.6. TPS learning paradigm has a considerable influence on critical thinking abilities and learning.

Abstract

The use of e-books is a form of utilizing technology-based learning media in an effort to improve student learning outcomes. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of using the e-book Classification of Living Things on learning outcomes and critical thinking skills of junior high school students. The type of research used is a quasi-experimental research design with a post-test only control group design. The sample of this research was class VII students at MTsN 4 Banyuwangi, which consisted of the experimental class (VII J) and control class (VII I). The data collection technique uses test questions on learning outcomes and critical thinking skills. Data analysis techniques used the normality test, hypothesis testing with the parametric independent sample t-test or the non-parametric Mann-Whitney test. The results showed that the use of e-book material for classification of living things had an effect on the learning outcomes and critical thinking of junior high school students. The appearance of an attractive e-book, can present science material supplemented by pictures and learning videos in one medium, making it easy for students to access learning material, attracting students' attention and making it easier for teachers to deliver subject matter.

Abstract

The development of science and technology has caused a lot of disruption to every element, especially in the education sector which affects students' critical thinking levels. Science learning is one of the lessons that can provide direct experience so that it can improve students' critical thinking skills. In fact, the use of passive learning models also affects the low critical thinking skills of junior high school students. An alternative way that can be done is by selecting an efficient and effective learning model according to the student's condition. The right learning model uses the Problem Based Learning because it is able to guide students to solve problems and critical thinking skills so as to help students understand more deeply about a science phenomenom. This fact is the basis for research that aims to significantly examine the PBL model on students' critical thinking skills in learning hydrostatic pressure material. This type of research is a quasi-experimental design with a post-test only control group and two research samples were selected, namely the experimental class VIII and the control VIII class. Data collection is in the form of critical thinking skills tests. The results of this study are in accordance with the data analysis showing that the average post-test the experimental class is higher than the control class. The average of the experimental class is 75.3 while the average value of the control class is 61.6. The high average post-test in the experimental class indicates that the science learning of hydrostatic pressure material carried out using the PBL model has an effect on improving students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has caused several impacts, one of which is in the field of education. Teachers must innovate to develop media to facilitate distance learning systems. One of the media that can be used is E-LKPD based on Problem Based Learning. E-LKPD based on Problem Based Learning, namely learning media that is presented in an electronic format based on Problem Based Learning. This study aims to develop Problem Based Learning-based E-LKPD to improve the science process skills of junior high school students. The type of research used is R&D research with development design using the ADDIE model. The results obtained are that the Problem Based Learning-based E-LKPD that was developed can be used as a learning medium during the pandemic to improve students' science process skills. This is because E-LKPD based on Problem Based Learning contains a problem to be solved by students.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui validitas, efektivitas dan kepraktisan dari pengembangkan intrumen penilaian berbasis literasi sains berbantuan quizizz untuk mengukur HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skills) pada pembelajaran IPA siswa SMP/MTs. Jenis penelitian ini yaitu penelitian pengembangan dengan model ADDIE yang memiliki lima tahapan yakni analisis, desain, devolep, iimplementasi, serta evaluaste. Subjek pada penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas VIII SMPN 14 Jember sebanyak 116 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan oleh peneliti yakni validitas, reliabilitas, taraf kesukaran soal, kepraktisan, analisis respon siswa dan analisis kemampuan HOTS siswa. Analisis validitas teoritis dilaksanakan oleh ahli pembelajaran IPA dengan menggunakan lembar validasi. Validitas empiris dihitung menggunakan metode Korelasi Produk Momen Pearson pada software SPSS 20. Instrumen penilaian berisikan 20 butir soal. Hasil validitas teoritis memperoleh nilai 88,25% dengan kriteria sangat valid. Hasil validitas empiris memperoleh 20 butir soal berkriteria valid. Hasil reliabilitas soal sebesar 0,636 dengan kategori reliable. Proprosi taraf kesukaran soal menunjukkan 18 item soal kategori sedang dan 2 item soal kategori sulit/sukar. Hasil nilai kepraktisan yaitu sebesar 90,0% dengan kriteria sangat praktis. Efektivitas produk ini kategori efektif dimana bisa kita lihat dari analisis respon peserta siswa sebanyak 79,02 yang berarti peserta didik memberikan respon positif dalam penggunaan quizizz saat penerapan instrumen penilaian berbasis literasi sains. Hasil penelitian ini memperlihatkan peserta didik mempunyai rerata kemampuan HOTS pada kategori cukup baik.Abstract: This study aims to determine the validity, effectiveness and practicality of developing a quizizz-assisted scientific literacy-based assessment instrument to measure HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skills) in science learning for SMP/MTs students. This type of research is development research with the ADDIE model which has five stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The subjects in this study were 116 students in class VIII SMPN 14 Jember. Data collection techniques carried out by researchers were validity, reliability, level of difficulty of the questions, practicality, analysis of student responses and analysis of students' HOTS abilities. Theoretical validity analysis was carried out by science learning experts using validation sheets. Empirical validity was calculated using the Pearson Moment Product Correlation method in SPSS 20 software. The assessment instrument contained 20 items. The results of theoretical validity obtained a value of 88.25% with very valid criteria. The results of empirical validity obtained 20 items with valid criteria. The results of the reliability of the questions were 0.636 with the reliable category. The proportion of item difficulty level shows 18 items in the moderate category and 2 items in the difficult/difficult category. The practicality value is 90.0% with very practical criteria. The effectiveness of this product is in the effective category, which we can see from the analysis of the responses of 79.02 student participants, which means that students gave a positive response in using quizizz when applying scientific literacy-based assessment instruments. The results of this study show that students have an average HOTS ability in the pretty good category.
