Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of liquidity in promoting patent-based innovation in the 10 countries with the highest innovation rates during the period 2012-2021. Using secondary data from the World Development Indicators (WDI), World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), and World Integrated Trade Solution (WITS), this study applies panel data regression method with Seemingly Unrelated Regression (SUR) approach to identify the influence of economic variables on the number of patents. The independent variables analyzed include equity x high technology, credit x high technology, industrial value added, exports, and liquidity. The results show that high-tech-based equity and credit have a significant influence on increasing the number of patents, while exports and liquidity do not show a meaningful influence. Value-added was also shown to have a significant contribution to innovation. These findings indicate that funding stability and long-term investment in research and development (R&D) determine innovation success more than the level of liquidity of the firm. Therefore, government policies and funding strategies should focus on improving access to high-tech-based financing as well as incentivizing R&D activities to foster a sustainable innovation ecosystem.

Abstract

The tourism sector has a strategic role in regional economic development. Central Java, with its wealth of natural, cultural, and historical tourism, has great potential to develop the tourism sector as an economic driver. The development of supporting facilities such as hotels and restaurants, as well as an increase in tourist attraction, is expected to encourage the growth of GRDP in regencies/cities in Central Java.  This study examines the influence of the tourism sector on Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) in 35 regencies and cities in Central Java. Using panel data from 2016 to 2022, this study evaluates how the number of hotels, restaurants, tourist attractions, and population affect GRDP. This study uses dynamic panel data regression method with Seemingly Unrelated Regression (SUR) approach. The results show that the number of hotels significantly increases GRDP, while the number of restaurants also has a positive and significant impact. In addition, tourism attraction provides a good contribution to GDRP, and the number of population provides a significant positive influence on GDRP throughout the Central Java region.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of economic growth, labor, regulatory quality, political stability, and carbon emissions on Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in eight member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). With strong economic growth, a qualified workforce, good regulations, stable politics, and low environmental degradation, ASEAN member countries have great potential for investment, which generates long-term returns. This makes the ASEAN region interesting to analyze the factors that influence FDI in the region. Using the Seemingly Unrelated Regression (SUR) method and secondary data from the World Bank, this study combines cross-sectional and time-series data to provide a comprehensive overview. The research findings indicate that variables such as labor, regulatory quality, political stability, and carbon emissions have a significant impact on foreign direct investment in ASEAN countries. These findings underscore the importance of these factors in determining the direction and volume of foreign investment. This study contributes significantly to understanding the dynamics of foreign investment in the ASEAN region and highlights the importance of efforts to improve political stability, regulatory quality, and manage carbon emissions to drive economic growth through foreign capital inflows. The implications of these findings can serve as a policy foundation for governments and stakeholders in ASEAN to enhance the attractiveness of foreign investment.

Abstract

Variabel ekspor memiliki nilai koefisien sebesar 17095,20

Abstract

Indonesia is known as an agricultural country. This nickname is no doubt because the abundance of natural resources such as agriculture, plantations, and so on is an opportunity for export trade. In addition to oil and gas, Indonesia also exports non-oil and gas, one of which is areca nut. There are betel nut plantations covering an area of 152 thousand hectares, with this in 2017 Indonesia's areca nut is in the 29th position from all over the world. Of the total land, 22 thousand hectares of which are in Jambi Province. Jambi Province has exported areca nut to several areas in East and South Asia to the Pacific Islands, which are used as chemical raw materials such as the pharmaceutical industry, cosmetic ingredients, preservatives to fabric dyes. This study aims to determine the factors that affect the export value of areca nut in Jambi Province. This type of quantitative research uses secondary data based on the time series time horizon for the period 2014 to 2022 (quarterly data) originating from the BPS official website, BI Report, and the Jambi Province Ministry of Agriculture. Processed using multiple linear regression model. Based on the results, it is concluded that the exchange rate of the US dollar against the rupiah has a positive and significant impact, the central bank interest rate has a negative and significant impact on the value of Jambi Province betel nut exports. While the consumer price index and economic growth in Jambi Province did not significantly affect the export value of betel nut in Jambi Province.
