Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on education by focusing on the problem of lack of readiness (students-lecturers) and preparation in the learning process and supporting facilities which will have an impact on the quality of learning outcomes. The method used in this study is a quantitative method with multiple regression analysis techniques to determine the connectedness of the learning process and supporting facilities to learning outcomes. The subjects of this study were students of the 2019 and 2020 economics education study programs, State University of Medan. The data in this study were 60 respondents. The findings of this research state that the Covid 19 pandemic has had an impact on education at State University of Medan, especially for Economics Education study program stamp of 2019 and 2020, where simultaneously the learning process and supporting facilities during the Covid 19 pandemic can affect the quality of learning outcomes for Economics Education study programs at State University of Medan. Partially the learning process during the Covid-19 pandemic had a significant effect on the learning outcomes of students of the Economics Education Study Program stamp of 2019 and 2020 at State University of Medan. And partially the supporting facilities during the Covid-19 pandemic have an effect but are not significant on the learning outcomes of students stamp of 2019 and 2020 Economic Education study program at the State University of Medan

Abstract

This study discusses the leadership style of school principals in SMP Negeri 1 Berastagi and its impact on the quality of education. The purpose of this article is to understand the leadership style of school principals and how it affects the quality of education in SMP Negeri 1 Berastagi. The type of research in this article refers to ex-post facto involving all ASN and non-ASN teachers at SMP Negeri 1 Berastagi, which numbers to 53 people, regardless of whether they are ASN or honorarium teachers. The sample size was 53, and the data was collected using questionnaires and documentation. The study was analyzed using statistical inference. The descriptive results of the study are the leadership style of school principals in SMP Negeri 1 Berastagi, with a score of 77.8, a minimum score of 56, a maximum score of 92, a standard deviation of 8.6, and a variance of 75. It is categorized as having a frequency of 29 people, which is 55%. The quality of education is 76, with a minimum score of 50 and a maximum score of 96, a standard deviation of 10.8, and a variance of 118.4, and it is categorized as good, with a frequency of 28 people, which is 53% . The conclusion of this article is that there is a significant influence of the leadership style of school principals on the quality of education in SMP Negeri 1 Berastagi.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study aims to analyze the construct of the edupreneurship model for teacher training students. Questionnaires were given to students enrolled in the teacher training program at the Faculty of Economics, Universitas Negeri Medan, with a sampling of 275 respondents and an analytical tool for testing the relationship between variables using PLS-SEM. The empirical results found that attitude towards entrepreneurial knowledge proved to have no positive and significant effect; social support for entrepreneurial knowledge is proven to have a positive and significant impact; Self-efficacy on entrepreneurial knowledge is proven to have a positive and significant impact; entrepreneurial knowledge on edupreneurship behavior is proven to have a positive and significant effect.ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis konstruk model edupreneurship pada mahasiswa keguruan. Kuesioner diberikan kepada mahasiswa program keguruan Fakultas Ekonomi di Universitas Negeri Medan dengan total sampel sebanyak 275 responden dan alat analisis untuk menguji hubungan antar variabel menggunakan PLS-SEM. Abstract

This study aims to determine: i) differences in general intelligence students in the urban, highland, and coastal, ii) scholastic differences students in the urban, highland and coastal, and iii) the relationship of general intelligence and scholastic students urban, highland and coastal. Samples were taken by using purposive sampling techniques as many as 670 students from the urban, 764 people from the highland and 604 students from the coastal. Analysis data used descriptive analysis, analysis of variance followed by Tukey honestly significant difference (HSD) analysis, and regression. The results showed that 31.4% of students in the highland have a general intelligence above the average of their age students, while students who live in the urban with a general intelligence above average age is only 23.3%, while on the coastal is only 8.1%. It was found that; i) there are differences in general intelligence of students, ii) there are differences in scholastic ability of students, and iii) there is a general intelligence effect to scholastic ability students in the urban, highland and coastal.

Abstract

Internship programs are organized depending on the program provider (school), so many students have a big difference in the internship experience. On the other hand, the campus has limitations in running the program, one of which is evaluating the achievement of the internship program. The purpose of this study is to build validity on the evaluation scale of the apprenticeship program for pre-service teachers using Kirkpatrick's four-level evaluation model. This type of research is quantitative with a confirmatory quantitative approach. The sample is 212 pre-service teachers. The methods used in collecting data are observation, tests, and questionnaires. Instruments used for test sheets and questionnaires. Data analysis used a confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) approach with the SmartPLS v3.0 application. The analysis results are that the four-level evaluation model meets construct validity and proves accurate validation on the internship program evaluation scale. In particular, the internship program evaluation scale effectively tracks program achievements at each level. The implication is that academic stakeholders on campus can use this evaluation scale as a measuring tool to experiment with the success of the internship program. In addition, they can review the achievements of pre-service teachers in implementing apprenticeship programs based on each level of the Kirkpatrick model.

Abstract

Tujuan khusus kegiatan untuk memanfaatkan tempurung kelapa agar dapat dimanfaatkan sepenuhnya untuk kegiatan produktif yang dapat meningkatkan pendapatan kelompok usaha petani kelapa sekaligus menciptakan wirausaha yang mandiri secara ekonomi. Target dalam kegiatan pengabdian dihasilkannya; 1) produk olahan kelapa dari tempurung seperti arang dan briket; 2) alat pembuat arang dan briket; dan 3) manajemen usaha kecil. Metode yang digunakan untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut dengan metode pendidikan, penyuluhan, pelatihan produksi, pelatihan manajemen usaha terdiri dari teknik pemasaran dan penyusunan laporan keuangan, pendampingan, monitoring, dan evaluasi. Pemilihan lokasi ini dikarenakan kelapa yang banyak tersebar, melimpahnya limbah tempurung kelapa dan belum optimalnya pemanfaatan produksi olahan tempurung di desa tersebut. Hasil capaian kegiatan yang diperoleh masyarakat berupa pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam mengolah limbah tempurung kelapa menjadi barang-barang ekonomis.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate an internship programme for preservice teachers. The program evaluation model uses the Kirkpatrick Model which consists of four levels: reaction, learning, behaviour, and outcome. This model is suitable for evaluating internship programmes in reviewing the development of preservice teachers from the initial level to the completion of the internship programme targets. This study involved prospective teachers (n=205) in Economics and Business at the Universitas Negeri Medan. Data were collected online using a Google Forms questionnaire over two months in 2022. Data analysis used quantitative description to explore the programme achievements at each level in depth. The findings showed that the mean of reaction (5.05), learning (5.20), behaviour (4.96), and outcome (5.03) were above the ideal mean of 3.50. Internship programme participants have met the average achievement target of Kirkpatrick's four-level model, where learning evaluation is more meaningful for student teachers when participating in the internship programme compared to other levels. Overall, with this research, it is hoped that internship programme managers can design more targeted and measurable programmes to improve the experience of prospective teachers.  Keywords: internship program, preservice teacher, evaluation, Kirkpatrick four-level

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis Pengaruh Kecerdasan Emosional Dan Lingkungan Keluarga Terhadap Minat Belajar Mahasiswa Prodi Pendidikan Ekonomi Class of 2021 Fakultas Ekonomi Universitas Negeri Medan. Populasi penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa prodi Pendidikan Ekonomi Stambuk 2021 yang berjumlah 80 mahasiswa. Jumlah sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 80 responden dikarenakan teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah total sampling. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis regresi linear berganda dan pengujian hipotesis dengan menggunakan Uji-t dan Uji-f serta perhitungan koefisien determinasi menggunakan SPSS Versi 22. Adapun hasil dari penelitian ini adalah (1) Terdapat pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan antara Kecerdasan Emosional terhadap Minat Belajar Mahasiswa prodi Pendidikan Ekonomi Stambuk 2021 Universitas Negeri Medan. Dibuktikkan dengan nilai thitung > ttabel yaitu (4,256 > 1,9912) dan nilai sig (0,000 < 0,05). (2) Terdapat pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan antara Lingkungan Keluarga terhadap Minat Belajar Mahasiswa prodi Pendidikan Ekonomi Class of 2021 Universitas Negeri Medan. Dibuktikan dengan nilai thitung > ttabel yaitu (6,819 > 1,9912) dan nilai sig (0,000 < 0,05). (3) Terdapat pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan antara Kecerdasan Emosional dan Lingkungan Keluarga terhadap Minat Belajar Mahasiswa prodi Pendidikan Ekonomi Class of 2021 Universitas Negeri Medan. Dibuktikan dengan nilai Fhitung > Ftabel (36,314 > 3,12) dan nilai signifikan (0,000 < 0,05). Berdasarkan hasil uji koefisien determinasi, diperoleh nilai koefisien determinasi sebesar 0,485 yang berarti 0,485×100%= 48,5%. Hal ini berarti kontribusi yang diberikan oleh Variabel bebas Kecerdasan Emosional (X1) dan Lingkungan Keluarga (X2) terhadap variabel terikat Minat Belajar Mahasiswa (Y) adalah sebesar 48,5%, sedangkan sisanya 51,5 %, dipengaruhi oleh variabel lain yang tidak dikaji dalam penelitian ini.

Abstract

Economic development in North Sumatra faces a significant challenge due to poverty.This study aims to assess the influence Open Development Index (IPT) and the Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) on the Poverty Index in North Sumatra during the years 2008 to 2020. Employing multiple linear regression analysis, the study incorporates classical assumption tests to affirm the model's reliability. Findings reveal that IPT and TPT collectively exert a notable influence on the Poverty Index, boasting an R Square value of 0.815, which signifies that these two variables can account for 81.5% of the variations in poverty rates. On an individual basis, TPT exhibits a stronger impact than IPT, suggesting that a rise in unemployment directly leads to an increase in the impoverished population. The outcomes of the heteroscedasticity and autocorrelation assessments reveal that the regression model employed does not face significant issues, thus the analysis results can be regarded as reliable. This study concludes that in order to alleviate poverty in North Sumatra, policies must target enhancing investment in the productive sector, ensuring equitable access to education and healthcare, and generating quality employment opportunities. By implementing these strategic initiatives, it is anticipated that poverty in North Sumatra can be markedly diminished and community well-being can sustainably improve.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi kelayakan, efektivitas, dan kepraktisan instrumen asesmen High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) berbasis Computerized Assisted Test (CAT) pada mata pelajaran Ekonomi untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan desain Pra-Eksperimen (One Group Pre-Test–Post-Test Design) dan model pengembangan ADDIE. Instrumen pengumpulan data meliputi angket validasi ahli, angket respons guru dan peserta didik, serta uji analisis butir soal yang mencakup uji validitas, reliabilitas, normalitas, dan homogenitas. Pengujian hipotesis dilakukan melalui uji kelayakan, uji efektivitas, dan uji kepraktisan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa instrumen asesmen berbasis CAT sangat layak digunakan dengan hasil validasi ahli materi sebesar 94,23%, ahli media 84,62%, ahli desain pembelajaran 88,89%, dan validasi guru mata pelajaran sebesar 94,61%. Uji coba instrumen pada individu (82,41%), kelompok kecil (72,86%), dan kelompok besar (86,96%) juga menunjukkan kategori layak hingga sangat layak. Instrumen ini terbukti efektif meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik, ditunjukkan oleh peningkatan nilai rata-rata dari 29,95 (sebelum intervensi) menjadi 80,51 (setelah intervensi), dengan nilai signifikansi uji-t sebesar 0,000 (< 0,05). Instrumen ini juga dinyatakan sangat praktis, dengan nilai kepraktisan rata-rata 86,37% dan nilai efektivitas berdasarkan uji Cohen’s d sebesar 6,72 (kriteria sangat besar). Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi nyata dalam bidang pendidikan, khususnya dalam pengembangan instrumen asesmen berbasis teknologi yang mampu mengukur dan mendorong keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi peserta didik secara efektif. Integrasi instrumen berbasis CAT menjadi salah satu solusi strategis dalam meningkatkan kualitas asesmen pembelajaran abad ke-21 di sekolah.
