Abstract

This study aims to determine the process of building children's character who likes reading through reading story books. The research objectives are knowing the storytelling process and the benefits of storytelling in building the character of children who love reading. Qualitative research methods with a case study approach. The source of research data is one community leader, two managers of the Taman bacaan Permata Hati, and one person from the education office. Collecting data through interviews with key informants, direct observation of research objects, and literature studies. Test the validity of the data through triangulation. Descriptive data analysis through stages of reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the storytelling process to build the character of children who love reading is to set goals, form of storytelling, supporting facilities, storytelling steps, and assessment design.

Abstract

Pada tahun 2018 telah terjadi tiga kali kecelakaan di Wisata Volcano Tour Gunung Merapi, Provinsi Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Pada saat itu wisata Gunung Merapi sebagai wisata berbasis masyarakat mengalami kendala dalam pengelolaan dan pengawasan standar keselamatan wisata dikarenakan jumlah komunitasnya yang banyak sehingga sulit untuk melakukan koordinasi. Sebagai wisata bencana dengan risiko tinggi, diperlukan pengelolaan wisata keselamatan yang baik, salah satunya adalah pengelolaan informasi keselamatan bagi wisatawan agar tujuan dari pemahaman wisata keselamatan dapat tercapai. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengelolaan informasi keselamatan pada wisata Volcano Tour Gunung Merapi dan saat erupsi freatik pada tahun 2018. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan studi kasus. Temuan penelitian ini adalah pertama, belajar dari fenomena Volcano Tour Gunung Merapi, keselamatan wisata menjadi hal yang krusial, khususnya pada wisata massal. Kondisi keselamatan menjadi penting karena wisata bencana memiliki risiko yang tinggi. Kedua, keselamatan wisata merupakan pengurangan risiko kecelakaan. Ketiga, mitigasi keselamatan wisata terbagi dalam dua perspektif yaitu struktural dan non-struktural. Pada non-struktural, penerapan informasi keselamatan dilakukan melalui dua cara yaitu praktik media dan literasi pengurangan risiko. Keempat, keselamatan wisata berkorelasi dengan infrastruktur yang mendukung akses keselamatan dan pentingnya sumber daya manusia yang andal dalam keselamatan wisata.

Abstract

Wayang Golek as an integral part of the Sundanese culture, is at risk due to globalization and modern influences. To counter this, RKSB Maja FM, a community radio in Bandung, West Java, has initiated the "Preserving the Art of Wayang Golek" program as a form of local cultural preservation. This research aims to understand the process and motivation behind the selection of Wayang Golek art performances for broadcast on RKSB Maja FM, as well as to explore its impact on the preservation of Sundanese culture and its influence on the listening community. This study uses a qualitative method with an instrumental case study approach. It gathers information through in-depth interviews with RKSB Maja FM members involved in the selection and implementation of the program, as well as the analysis of related documents. The research findings indicate that RKSB Maja FM chose the program "Preserving the Art of Wayang Golek" because Wayang Golek is a distinctive identity of Sundanese society and holds significant cultural values. The program aims to protect the continuity of this art form from outside influences and to ensure that the younger generation does not forget about Wayang Golek. RKSB Maja FM sees radio broadcasting as an effective medium for preserving and introducing Wayang Golek to the broader community. In conclusion, the broadcasting program "Preserving the Art of Wayang Golek" is RKSB Maja FM's effort to safeguard the cultural heritage of Sundanese culture and strengthen the local cultural identity amidst the challenges of globalization.

Abstract

Efforts to change individual behavior and attitudes cannot be done separately, but rather involve various parties in the process. One effective approach is to integrate learning with the environment. This integration can be done in two ways, namely taking the class outdoors so that students interact directly with nature, or conversely, presenting environmental elements into the classroom as a learning resource. This study aims to improve early childhood understanding and awareness of environmental health issues through an educational approach that is tailored to their developmental characteristics. The method used is action research, which is carried out in two cycles at an early childhood education institution. Each cycle consists of the planning stage, action implementation, observation, and reflection, in order to evaluate the effectiveness of the actions given and design improvements for the next cycle. Data collection instruments include observations of children's behavior during the learning process, documentation of activities, and interviews with educators and students. The results of the study showed that the integration of environmental health literacy in learning activities, such as playing while learning, exploring the surrounding environment, and simple discussions about healthy living habits, can significantly improve children's understanding. Children showed an increase in recognizing the importance of personal hygiene, waste management, and maintaining clean air and water. This finding emphasizes that early childhood education is an important foundation in fostering environmentally friendly behavior and healthy lifestyles in the future.

Abstract

Museum Geologi Bandung merupakan museum terbesar di Kota Bandung yang memiliki fungsi untuk melakukan pengumpulan, perawatan, pengawetan, dan penyajian benda-benda yang mempunyai nilai budaya dan ilmiah. Artefak ialah warisan budaya yang mengandung informasi penting, sebagai peninggalan dari masa lampau, artefak sendiri banyak mengandung informasi mengenai aspek kehidupan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kegiatan preservasi koleksi artefak di Museum Geologi Bandung. Metode yang digunakan yaitu kualitatif serta data penelitian dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan studi kepustakaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan kegiatan preservasi di Museum Geologi Bandung sudah diterapkan dalam bentuk kebijakan dan proses kegiatan preservasi preventif guna mencegah kerusakan pada artefak dan memperpanjang usia dari artefak tersebut.

Abstract

Real Person Fanfiction adalah sebuah produk budaya yang berkembang dalam komunitas penggemar yang mengadopsi tokoh figur publik tertentu sebagai karakter utama dalam suatu cerita. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengobservasi literasi melalui Real Person Fanfiction sebagai media hiburan bagi penggemar Korean Pop dalam komunitas daring pembaca Wattpad. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Penelitian ini melibatkan pengguna aktif platform Wattpad sebagai informan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Wattpad terbilang mudah digunakan dan dipelajari, pembaca mampu menunjukkan kemampuan kognitif, emosional, dan moral dalam menganalisis fanfiksi, pembaca lebih suka menyampaikan evaluasi melalui pendekatan personal, pengonsepan fanfiksi dapat dilakukan melalui pembuatan outline dan impulsif, serta kegiatan riset fanfiksi dapat dilakukan pada objek nyata dan tak nyata. Secara keseluruhan, penggemar dapat menerapkan prinsip-prinsip literasi dalam mengakses, menganalisis, mengevaluasi, dan memproduksi di samping fungsi hiburan yang terpenuhi dari Real Person Fanfiction.

Abstract

Background of the study: The decline in the utilization and user satisfaction of virtual reference services in the Library in Jakarta, Indonesia, indicates organizational dysfunction. Communication can be a cause and symptom of this organizational dysfunction. Purpose: This study aims to identify the source of problems in organizing virtual reference services. Method: This research employs a qualitative case study approach. Data collection was conducted through interviews, observations, and document studies. Data analysis was performed through data coding. Findings: Interaction among service team members and with other service teams occurred frequently. In contrast, the interaction between the service team and supervisor, chief supervisor, and unit leader was infrequent. The problem that appears on the surface is the failure of the management function. Conclusion: Examining organizational issues from a communication perspective can help identify the sources of dysfunction in organizing virtual reference services. A team-based work system does not necessarily result in good performance. This occurs because the behavior of organizational members is shaped not by communication within their environment but by their activities.
