Abstract

The Teacher Certification Program was an educational form that aimed at increasingthe professionalism of teachers. The aim of this research was to describe before and after basic knowledge of primary teachers that has been already joining in Teacher Certification Program. Basic knowledge is knowledge about understanding lesson plans which is suitable with basic competence, lesson theory, until research plan after teaching to support teacher professionalism. The research method was a quantitative description. Technique this research was an interview with a primary teacher that has been already joining the teacher certification program. Data analysis using a percentage of basic knowledge before and after primary teacher. Data result has been shown basic knowledge primary teacher is increased from arranging lesson plan for doing research and reflection in the learning process Pendidikan Profesional Guru merupakan bentuk pendidikan yang ditujukan bagi guru untuk meningkatkan keprofesionalan guru. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan dasar atau Basic Knowledge guru Sekolah Dasar sebelum dan sesudah mengikuti Pendidikan Profesional Guru (PPG). Kemampuan dasar atau basic knowledge merupakan kemampuan yang meliputi pemahaman rencana pembelajaran yang sesuai kompetensi dasar, pemahaman teori belajar, hingga penelitian setelah pembelajaran untuk mendukung profesional guru. Metode dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif. Teknik wawancara dilakukan dalam penelitian ini dengan subjek guru sekolah dasar yang telah megikuti PPG. Analisis data menggunakan hasil presentasi kemampuan guru sebelum dan sesudah mengikuti PPG. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan Basic Knowledge guru Sekolah Dasar meningkat, dimulai dari kemampuan melakukan perencanaan sampai melakukan penelitian perbaikan dalam pembelajaran.

Abstract

Pembelajaran STEM merupakan hal yang baru bagi guru di Sekolah Dasar. STEM merupakan hasil pengintegrasian dari Science, Technology, Engineering, dan Mathematic. Tujuan penulisan artikel ini adalah untuk mengetahui kesiapan yang akan dihadapi oleh guru Sekolah Dasar jika mengimplementasikan STEM di Sekolah Dasar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah literature review atau tinjauan pustaka meliputi google scholar dan scopus. Kriteria artikel yang dipilih ialah tebit tahun 2016-2021. Didapatkan 15 artikel yang susai dengan kriteria yang diinginkan dan tidak meluas dari topik. Analisis dari 15 artikel menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran STEM bisa dilakukan di Sekolah Dasar sesuai dengan kurikulum 2103. Di Indonesia STEM sudah menjadi trend di pembelajaran saat ini, namun minimnya pengetehuan dari guru untuk menggunakan dan kurang tahunya manfaat yang didapatkan. STEM merupakan jawaban atas tantangan abad 21 yang diharapkan menguasai kemampuan 4C yaitu critical, creativity, comunication, dan, collaboration. Kurangnya pengetahuan dan banyaknya manfaat yang ada pada pembelajaran STEM di Indonesia khususnya guru Sekolah Dasar, maka diperlukan pelatihan dan bimbingan kepada guru Sekolah Dasar agar bisa mengaplikasikan pembelajaran di Sekolah Dasar.

Abstract

Critical thinking is an essential 21st-century skill students need to face global challenges. It involves the ability to analyse information deeply, present arguments objectively, and make evidence-based decisions. However, the level of critical thinking skills of elementary students in Indonesia remains relatively low. To address this issue, the development of suitable learning media is needed. This study aims to develop and test the effectiveness of an e-module based on Read-STEM in improving elementary students’ critical thinking skills. The research used the Borg and Gall development model, involving 4th-grade students from several elementary schools in Jember. Instruments were validation sheets and critical thinking skill tests. The validation results showed a validity score of 95.1%, categorised as “very valid.” The effectiveness test indicated an average N-Gain of 0.61, placing it in the “medium” improvement category. These results indicate that the Read-STEM-based e-module is a valid and effective learning medium. Furthermore, these findings have broader implications for other educational contexts, such as science or social studies, which require complex problem analysis and evidence-based reasoning. This research contributes to the existing body of knowledge on digital learning tools by providing a specific, practical framework that combines the strengths of the STEM approach with critical reading strategies, demonstrating its potential for developing higher-order thinking skills beyond the elementary level.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze significant differences in the PhET (Physics Education Technology) with the use the Guided Inquiry model of in terms of students' cognitive abilities through science learning outcomes before and after being treated with PhET media using the Guided Inquiry model. The research method used quantitative methods of Quasi-Experimental type with Non-equivalent Control Group Design research design. The data collection tool used Pretest-Posttest questions totaling 25 items. The study population was all fifth grade students of SDN Tanggul Wetan 02, totaling 48 students. The results showed that there was a significant difference in the cognitive abilities of students who used PhET media assisted the Guided Inquiry model with the cognitive abilities of students who used conventional learning. There is a significant increase in cognitive abilities after being treated with the application of PhET media assisted by Guided Inquiry model with before being treated with the application of PhET media assisted by Guided Inquiry model. In general, there is a positive and significant effect (2 tailed) p = 0.513 > 0.05 from the application of PhET media using Guided Inquiry model in science practicum activities on the cognitive abilities of elementary school students.

Abstract

One of the fundamental skills in science learning is concept understanding and critical thinking. However, science learning in schools has not focused on developing these two abilities. The purpose of this research is to examine the effect of the PODE learning model assisted by a digital pop-up book on the understanding of science concepts and critical thinking skills of elementary school students. The method applied in this study is experimental with a quasi-experimental design through a post-test-only non-equivalent control group approach. Based on the data analysis, it was found that PODE learning assisted by digital pop-up book media has a significant effect on concept understanding and critical thinking skills. Multivariate analysis showed a significant difference simultaneously on both dependent variables with a significance value of 0.000. Referring to the data obtained in this study, researchers suggest using the PODE model assisted by digital pop-up book media to improve students' understanding of science concepts and critical thinking skills. For future researchers, it is recommended to conduct longitudinal research on the PODE model and digital pop-up book media, as well as examine its effect on other variables such as creative thinking skills, higher-order thinking skills (HOTS), science process skills, and others.        Keywords: PODE learning model, digital pop-up book, science concept understanding, critical thinking skills, elementary school students.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v25i4.pp1961-1975

Abstract

The independent curriculum is a curriculum that was implemented in Indonesia in 2021 until now. Various approaches are implemented in the curriculum, one of which is STEAM. The purpose of writing this article is to identify and analyze the STEAM approach in elementary school learning that is aligned with the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum, and provide recommendations for developing contextual and integrative learning that supports the achievement of the Pancasila learner profile and 4C skills, student activities, and learning outcomes. The research method used is a literature study by reviewing journals as literature recorded in Sinta, Garuda, and indexed nationally and internationally. The results showed that there are many learning models that integrate with the STEAM approach in the independent curriculum which effectively provide results in increasing the achievement of the Pancasila learner profile, 4C skills, student activity, and learning outcomes. This STEAM approach encourages students to be active in various learning activities designed by teachers in the independent curriculum and gain direct experience both theoretically and practically.

Abstract

Guru Penggerak is one of the independent learning programs that is expected to increase teacher competence with several programs and encourage learning independence for students. The purpose of this study is to identify the ability of Guru Penggerak in implementing independent learning classes. This type of research is a qualitative research with an interview, field survey, and observation approach. Data analysis using data reduction, data triangulation, and data synthesis. The results of the study show that teachers have sufficient professional competence in the ability of teachers to drive independent learning.
