Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model containing local wisdom on the creative thinking skills of fifth-grade students in mathematics at SD Gugus I, Buleleng District. The low ability of students to express ideas and find alternative solutions is the background of this research. The research method used is a quasi-experimental method with a Posttest-Only Control Group Design. The population consisted of all fifth-grade students totaling 215 students. The sample was selected using the equivalence test technique, determining one experimental class and one control class. Data collection was carried out using an essay test instrument to measure creative thinking skills which had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis used descriptive statistics and inferential statistics with t-test. The results showed that the average score of creative thinking skills in the experimental class was higher than the control class. Based on the hypothesis test, the value of t_count > t_table with a significance value <0.05, so H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. It can be concluded that there is a significant effect of the CTL model containing local wisdom on students' creative thinking skills. This model encourages students to learn through real experiences linked to local culture, so that learning becomes meaningful and can optimize fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration in thinking.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the differences in the ability to understand science concepts between groups of students who are taught using the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning model assisted by Wordwall media and groups of students who are taught using conventional learning models in grade IV elementary school students. The type of research used is a quasi-experimental design. The population in this study were all grade IV students of SDN Gugus VI Sukasada District in the 2025/2026 Academic Year. The research sample was determined using a random sampling technique, so that SD Negeri 1 Panji Anom was obtained as an experimental class with a total of 21 students and SD Negeri 2 Panji Anom as a control class with a total of 23 students. Data collection was carried out using a test method with an instrument in the form of 30 multiple-choice questions to measure the understanding of science concepts. The data obtained were then analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics, namely the polled variance t-test with the help of SPSS version 25. The results showed that the ability to understand science concepts of students in the experimental group was better than the control group. This can be seen from the average pre-test score of the experimental group of 65.00 which is higher than the control group of 60.00. In the post-test results, the average of the experimental group reached 91.67, while the control group was 72.13. In addition, the results of the independent sample t-test showed a significance value of 0.000 (α = 0.05), so that H₀ was rejected and H₁ was accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that the TGT learning model assisted by Wordwall media has a significant effect on the ability to understand the concept of science in grade IV students of SDN Gugus VI, Sukasada District.

Abstract

This research was driven by the low understanding of science (IPAS) concepts among fourth-grade elementary school students due to the dominance of conventional learning models. The study aimed to analyze the effect of the Buzz Group learning model based on Catur Pramana on the understanding of science concepts. This research was a quasi-experimental study using a Non-equivalent Control Group Design. The population of this study consisted of fourth-grade students in Cluster II, Busungbiu District. The sample was selected using a random sampling technique, resulting in 28 students in the experimental group and 21 students in the control group. Data on students' understanding of science concepts were collected through an essay test consisting of 20 validated items. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics (Independent Sample T-test). The results showed that the t-count (14.201) was greater than the t-table (2.013) at a significance level of 0.05. Furthermore, the average N-gain score for the experimental group was 0.72 (High category), while the control group was 0.31 (Medium category). It can be concluded that the Buzz Group learning model based on Catur Pramana has a significant effect on the understanding of science concepts among fourth-grade students. This model provides an innovative alternative for teachers to enhance student participation and conceptual mastery through systematic stages of observation and logical reasoning.
