Abstract

This study intends to explain the phenomenon of lifestyle in urban communities, lifestyle practices and social influences that often occur in arisan groups. On the topic of arisan, the writer will explain more in depth about the model of arisan practice, social influences and consumptive lifestyles in the arisan group. This study employs a descriptive exploratory approach and created by the use of a literature review or a literature study. The theory or concept method is implemented through the use of multiple sources, including books, scientific publications, and the internet. All descriptions of existing concepts are combined into a single framework of thought. From the research conducted, it was found that identity is an important thing in social gathering activities. Identity then arises because the existing social gathering activities are dominated by consumption patterns in it. From this consumption activity, a competition was born between its members to show who has a higher identity and who doesn't. The chairman of the arisan has great influence in influencing its members to follow all his orders under the pretext of the interests of arisan activities. This power is not realized by the members. The strong friendship between the chairman and the other members, makes them enter into a system where there is control and what is controlled.

Abstract

This paper will attempt to discuss Francis Schaeffer’s life and thought, with special emphasis on his apologetics. The primary resource is one of his books, ‘How Should We Then Live?’ and also several books about Schaeffer from various other authors: (1) Francis Schaeffer’s Apologetics: A Critique by Thomas Morris, (2) Reflection on Francis Schaeffer, edited by Ronald W. Ruegsegger, and (3) Francis Schaeffer: The Man and His Message, written by Louis Gifford Parkhurst, Jr.  In his method of apologetical verification, he used of elements of common ground as a point of contact with unbelievers.  Unlike the inductive approach, he majors on inner, existential values as well as outer empirical data. In contrast with the pre-suppositional approach, Schaeffer’s method discovers and appeals to factual and personal data in confirmation of his hypothesis.BAHASA INDONESIA ABSTRAK: Tulisan ini mencoba untuk mendiskusikan kehidupan dan pemikiran Francis Schaeffer, terutama pada bidang apologetik. Bahan utama diskusi adalah berasal dari bukunya yang berjudul How Should we Then Live, dan juga pengarang-pengarang  lainnya yang membahas pemikiran Shaeffer dalam buku-bukunya antara lain: (1) Francis Schaeffer’s Apologetics: A Critique by Thomas Morris, (2) Reflection on Francis Schaeffer, edited by Ronald W. Ruegsegger, dan (3) Francis Schaeffer: The Man and His Message, written by Louis Gifford Parkhurst, Jr. Dalam metodenya verifikasi apologetik, Shaeffer menggunakan unsur-unsur kesamaan sebagai titik kontak dengan orang-orang yang belum mengenal Tuhan.

Abstract

The teacher is the front liner needed to achieve the school's vision and mission because it is the teacher who interacts directly with students and their parents. Teachers who spontaneously contribute more than what is written in the job description are compulsory. So, the impact on overall school effectiveness will be felt and can also reduce tensions between teachers and school management. A teacher's attitude and willingness to go beyond a predetermined target can be translated into the Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) variable of the teacher. This study aimed to determine the effect of perceived organizational support, procedural fairness, and organizational commitment to OCB teachers at SD Methodist Jakarta. The study data were obtained from distributing questionnaires to 28 teachers who were actively teaching in the Methodist Elementary School. This study uses a quantitative approach to the PLS-SEM method, where data analysis uses the SmartPLS v 3.2.7 software to calculate the outer model and the inner model. The results showed that the perception of organizational support, procedural fairness, and organizational commitment had a positive effect on OCB teachers at SD Methodist Jakarta.

Abstract

In facing this VUCA era, organizations take into account that their Human Resources must be able to face the challenges of VUCA, one of which is mastering the skills needed to build and develop an organization in this VUCA era. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of work motivation and leadership style on organizational performance in the VUCA era. The data collection technique uses a questionnaire with as many as 400 MSME leaders spread across various cities/regencies in West Java Province, namely Bogor Regency, Bandung Regency, Bandung City, Sukabumi Regency, Garut Regency, Cirebon Regency, Cianjur Regency, Karawang Regency, and Bekasi Regency. .. This type of research is quantitative with data analysis using Structural Equation Modeling(SEM). Based on the results of the analysis, the equation model Y = 0.88X1 + 0.26X2. The test results show that there is an influence of work motivation and leadership style on organizational performance in the VUCA era. This means the increased motivation and leadership style, the better the organizational performance significantly. Furthermore, when viewed from the determinant coefficient of 0.65, this coefficient shows that work motivation and leadership style variables contribute 65%, and the other 35% is explained by other factors outside of this research variable.

Abstract

Implementation of innovation is the main indicator of success for innovation initiatives. The challenge on dynamic capability management, particularly for innovation, has been in place and studied by scholars. Yet, research regarding this matter from a strategic level and from school leaders’ perspective is limited. Interviews conducted to school leaders in Indonesia showcase four resources to be managed for innovation in schools: human resources, technology, communication, and budget; each with their own antecedents. The focus to ensure success falls into human resources, namely willingness to adopt, understanding of the concept of teacher, comprehension level and learning speed. Meanwhile, from a technology standpoint, these antecedents include fulfillment of users’ needs, integration with applied technologies, budget fitness and hardware requirements. Communication resources and their dynamics are text and visual based communication, meeting, and surveys. Meanwhile, the dynamics surrounding the budget are fitness with purpose and school’s plan, return on investment, and external contribution. This study supports the creation of a new proposition on innovation dynamic capability management from the school's perspective. School leaders can use this research as a reference point to strategize future innovation projects.
