West Sulawesi is the second province with the highest stunting rate, above the national average of 41.59%, based on the 2018 Basic Health Research data. In 2019 it decreased to 40.38%. However, this figure is still below the national target. Maternal parenting and giving MP-ASI that are less than optimal are among the main causes of stunting. This study aims to determine the factors that cause stunting while providing complementary feeding to children under five in the stunting locus area in Mamuju Regency, West Sulawesi. This research method is quantitative research with a cross-sectional design. Random sampling selected the number of samples, as many as 130 under-two children aged 6-13 months. Data were processed using the chi-square test and multivariate analysis using the logistic regression test. This study shows that the pattern of giving complementary feeding to children aged 6-23 months is still low. The pattern of giving MP-ASI from the type, amount, and time of giving MP-ASI was still lacking, namely 72.3%, 80%, and 45.8%, respectively. There was a relationship between the type of complementary feeding and stunting (Ï<0.05, OR 2.590 ). So education and counseling activities regarding Infants and Young Children Feeding (IYCF) need to be intensified, especially for mothers in the stunting locus area.

The COVID-19 outbreak and its designated policy conveyed unprecedented impacts on the life of women. This study aims to assess women’s quality of life (QOL) during the pandemic. This cross-sectional study was conducted in Java and Sulawesi, as both sites implemented the large-scale social restriction policy. The Indonesian version of the WHO Quality of Life Instrument, Short Form (WHOQOL-BREF) was used to collect the QOL data. The whole questionnaire was self-administered online by 191 women using Google Form. Descriptive analysis and Mann-Whitney test were carried out to analyze the data in statistical software. Overall, women who were involved in this study conveyed a relatively moderate quality of life (4.08 + 0.76 SD). The highest and lowest mean scores of QOL were observed in the social relationship (78.3 + 17.05 SD) and physical health domain (60.8 + 10.76SD). Family monthly income and type of family were significantly associated with environmental health (p0.05). Astoundingly, during the outbreak women described high satisfaction on social relationship. These results may advocate policy in regards to women’s welfare.

The nutritional status of under-five children in Indonesia remains low, including in North Maluku province. Based on the results of the 2021 SSGI, the prevalence of stunting among under-five children in this province is 27.5%. This figure is higher than the national prevalence of 24.4%. North Maluku has abundant potential for tuna fish that can be utilized in the development of local food that supports nutritional interventions for children. The recent study reported that as many as 86.7% of children aged 12 – 24 months consumed processed foods like nuggets, sausages, and meatballs. Most consumers (98.67%) also showed a high interest in consuming nuggets that contain higher protein and mineral content. The addition of moringa leaf vegetables and carrots to nuggets will increase the nutritional content of nuggets which can increase nutritional intake for children. This study was an experimental study that aimed to determine the shelf life of tuna fish nuggets substituted with moringa leaves and carrots using the Extended Storage Studies (SES) method. SES method was used to determine the shelf life of tuna fish nuggets substituted with moringa leaves and carrots by looking at the organoleptic quality which includes aroma, color and texture. Observations were made in February-March 2021 for 60 days at the Laboratory of Food Science, Poltekkes Ternate. Changes in quality began to occur on the 35th day of observation, namely the texture of the nuggets began to not be crunchy. While the observation of color and aroma did not change until the 60th day of observation. In conclusion, the shelf life of tuna fish nuggets substituted with Moringa leaves and carrots is up to 30 days.

This study aimed to describe the implementation of Integrated Health Post (Posyandu) in the working area of the Campalagian Health Center during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020. This study qualitative used a phenomenology approach which was carried out in the working area of the Campalagian Health Center in July - September 2020. A total of 10 Posyandu cadres were the main informants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews for 60 – 90 minutes conducted at the homes of Posyandu cadres while still paying attention to health protocols. Cadres did not carry out Posyandu in April and May 2020 following local government regulations or in certain months when there was an increase in cases of Covid-19 in the area. In implementing the Posyandu during the pandemic, cadres made several innovations such as setting up emergency handwashing facilities, arranging visit schedules, and the distance of waiting chairs at the Posyandu, requiring them to bring their own sharoong from home for weighing toddlers and disinfecting the Posyandu room. In conclusion, cadres make innovations in the implementation of Posyandu during the pandemic such as preparing emergency hand washing facilities, arranging visit schedules and waiting chair spacing at Posyandu, requiring them to bring their own gloves and disinfecting the Posyandu room. The implementation of Posyandu during the Covid-19 pandemic can prevent an increase in nutritional problems in mothers and stunting problems in toddlers. Therefore, the local government is expected to support the implementation of Posyandu routinely such as ensuring the availability of PPE for posyandu cadres, mothers and toddlers. So that Posyandu can still be implemented while still observing health protocols.

SSGI data for 2021 shows that 30.3% of under-five children are stunted in West Sulawesi. The low participation of the mothers of Mamuju Regency in Posyandu activities may be one of the factors causing the high stunting rate in West Sulawesi. The Grebek Stunting activity carried out by the District Health Office of Mamuju in collaboration with the DPD Persagi of West Sulawesi. It aimed to increase D/S coverage for toddlers as a form of early detection of stunting toddlers. This activity was carried out in four stages: preparing, refreshing anthropometric assessment, Grebek Stunting and evaluation. Grebek Stunting was carried out by visiting toddler homes to carry out anthropometric measurements and assess nutritional status. The Grebek Stunting activity involved across sectors and increased D/S coverage to 36.1% from 49.6% in July to 85.7% in August. The involvement of PERSAGI West Sulawesi and cross-sectors can increase the coverage of D/S Posyandu to increase efforts to detect early stunting in toddlers. It is suggested that policy makers can involve cross-sectors in an effort to increase community participation in Posyandu activities.

Food safety is one of the people's concerns in buying and consuming food during the Covid-19 pandemic. This requires culinary entrepreneurs to meet food safety standards in the food processing system. This study aims to determine the food service system carried out by culinary entrepreneurs during the Covid-19 pandemic and in the era of new normal in Makassar City. With a qualitative approach, 33 informants were selected purposively to be involved in this study which was distributed into 17 in-depth interviews and 3 FGDs. Data analysis was carried out in three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion or verification. This research found that culinary entrepreneurs applied health standards in their restaurants by providing handwashing facilities, barrier plastic, keeping tables/chairs apart, and requiring consumers to wear masks. Food processing requires food processors to use disposable plastic gloves and masks as well as tighter food packaging. It is concluded that culinary entrepreneurs have implemented safety and health standards in the food service system both in food processing and food packaging. It is highly recommended that culinary entrepreneurs perform routine cleaning and disinfecting at their restaurants so that efforts to prevent Covid-19 can be maximized, especially in the culinary business sector.
