Abstract

Cultural heritage preservation in North Sumatra faces challenges from manual, decentralized, and reactive site condition reporting. This study designs and develops a web-based Cultural Heritage Information System (CHIS) integrated with a Machine Learning (ML) prediction module for the Disbudparekraf of North Sumatra Province. The system is built using the CodeIgniter 4 framework with Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), MariaDB database, GIS integration via Leaflet.js, and a prediction module employing Random Forest Regressor with features including health score, structural integrity, physical integrity, authenticity, age factor, and maintenance score. Development follows the Waterfall model encompassing requirements analysis, design, implementation, black-box testing (47 test cases), and deployment. Results demonstrate successful integration of 12 historical assessment records from 10 priority heritage sites, generating 8 predictions with an average confidence score of 45.9% and automatic identification of high-risk sites such as Masjid Raya Al Mashun (confidence 51%). The system produces structured maintenance recommendations across three priority categories with specific timelines. The moderate confidence score reflects initial dataset limitations and is expected to improve with accumulating assessment data. This research contributes a replicable GIS-ML integration model for heritage conservation at the Indonesian local government level.

Abstract

The Wali Nagari Cup 1 tournament, organized by UNP 2025 KKN students in collaboration with the youth of Nagari Sibakur, is a concrete example of collaboration between youth and universities in building togetherness and a spirit of sports at the village level. This activity included two main sports soccer and volleyball participated by various teams from hamlets in Tanjung Gadang District. This study aims to describe how this activity was implemented, the collaboration between various parties, and its impact on social cohesion in the community. The results show that sports at the village level are not only a means of entertainment, but also an effective tool for strengthening social relations, increasing community participation, and affirming local cultural identity. The existence of traditions such as the Singgang Ayam auction also plays a role in strengthening the sense of unity within the community. This study supports previous findings that collaboration between youth, communities, and students can bring about social change that is rooted in local values and is participatory.

Abstract

This study aims to examine efforts to preserve local wisdom in Nagari Sibakur, Tanjung Gadang District, Sijunjung Regency, through the revitalization of traditional performing arts such as Randai and traditional dance, and the strengthening of the cultural tradition of manjapuik anak (children’s dance) in wedding ceremonies. The importance of this topic lies in concerns about the fading of local cultural identity due to modernization. This research was conducted through direct observation by 29 students during their Community Service Program (KKN) in Nagari Sibakur, using a descriptive qualitative approach along with observation, interviews, and documentation techniques with artists, traditional leaders, and the local community. The results indicate that the existence of Randai and traditional dance is still actively maintained through training for the younger generation and traditional activities. The tradition of manjapuik anak also continues to be practiced as an important part of the Minangkabau social structure. This preservation has received strong support from the community and the village government. This research confirms that preserving local wisdom not only preserves cultural heritage but also strengthens the identity and sense of community togetherness.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan efisiensi penggunaan air dan produktivitas pertanian bawang merah melalui penerapan sistem penyiraman otomatis berbasis Internet of Things (IoT) di kawasan Danau Diatas, Kecamatan Lembah Gumanti, Alahan Panjang. Pertanian tradisional yang sudah dianggap kurang efisien dan dianggap terlalu banyak memakan waktu bagi petani, disini kami ingin membantu dengan tujuan untuk menjawab keluhan petani dan juga menjadi gerbang awal untuk mendekatkan petani dengan teknologi yang modern serta efisien. Sistem dirancang menggunakan sensor kelembapan tanah, mikrokontroler ESP32, dan katup solenoid yang dikendalikan secara otomatis berdasarkan data kelembapan. Pelatihan penggunaan sistem juga diberikan kepada kelompok tani setempat. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa sistem ini mampu menghemat penggunaan air hingga 40% serta meningkatkan produktivitas tanaman sebesar 25%. Kegiatan ini membuktikan bahwa penerapan teknologi IoT dapat mendukung pertanian modern yang efisien, berkelanjutan, dan ramah lingkungan.
