Abstract

The achievement of learning outcomes of students in class X TKL 2 at SMK Negeri 1 Sumatera Barat in the subject of Basic Electricity Engineering is still disappointing with 20 people below the KKM out of a total of 36 students. One of the causes is the teacher-centered learning process so that students become passive. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research with the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning model to analyze the effect on student competence in the cognitive domain. This research is an experimental study categorized into the type of pre-experimental research with a one-group pretest post-test design. The subjects of this study were students of class X TKL 2 SMK Negeri 1 Sumatera Barat in the 2023/2024 school year consisting of 35 students. To analyze, a pretest was given before the implementation of Problem-Based Learning to measure students' initial abilities. Then the posttest was given after the learning process of Basic Electricity Engineering was applied to the Problem-Based Learning model. The pretest and posttest results will be analyzed using classical completeness testing and effect size. Based on the research results, it shows that the students' scores after applying the Problem-Based Learning model are higher than the students' scores before applying the Problem-Based Learning model. The results of classical completeness testing and effect size show that as much as the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning model can improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Using Python scripts over the MAVLink protocol, developers can use the open-source DroneKit Python software framework to enable autonomous drone operations. This framework provides excellent flexibility and power to facilitate automated drone control. The built quadcopter has an X configuration and uses a DJI F450 frame with some modifications. Interestingly, the drone has legs made of aluminum on both sides to help with smooth takeoffs and landings. The frame is 45 cm diagonal length and 30 cm vertical height. The drone was given an additional weight in a 15 x 18 x 12.5 cm box. The propeller used in this investigation is a 9x6 carbon-based model. The x2216 1400kV brushless motor that is being used is from Sunnysky, and it comes with an Electronic Speed Controller (ESC) with a 30A rating. A 4-cell 14.8V Lithium-Polymer (Li-Po) battery with a 7200mAh capacity powers the drone. Apart from that, the drone weighs 1573g in total. The results are obtained by self-measurement and flight measurement data (FMU). Six attempts were made, and the results showed that the second flight had the longest flight time and the highest altitude. In particular, the Flight Measurement Unit (FMU) reported that the flight lasted 81 seconds and reached an altitude of 0.93 meters. In contrast, the self-measurement data reported that the flight lasted 85 seconds and reached an altitude of 1.5 meters.

Abstract

The increasing need for electrical energy and its central role requires electrical energy suppliers to find new plants in order to meet consumer needs and avoid an electrical energy crisis. Utilization of solar energy through solar panels is an alternative to meet these needs. However, in the process of converting solar energy into electrical energy, the temperature of solar panels increases, causing the performance and efficiency of solar panels to decrease. Solar panels can produce the best power at temperatures of 25oC-35oC. When there is an increase in temperature by 1 ° C, the power generated decreases by 0.4%. An automatic cooling system is a solution that can be used to prevent the solar panel temperature from exceeding its optimal temperature limit. The solar panel cooling system made works on 10Wp solar panels with control from Arduino Uno, with inputs in the form of ACS712 sensors, DC voltage sensors, DHT11 sensors and RTC DS3231. The outputs are relays, LCD and micro-SD module. The methodology used in the research involves the design, implementation, and testing stages of the system prototype. After testing the prototype in the form of a comparison between solar panels with a cooling system and without a cooling system. It was found that when using a cooler, the average power generated was 9.1W. While solar panels without cooling can only produce an average power of 2.5W. This proves that the cooling system made can increase the output power.

Abstract

The hydroponic installation in the hydroponic community of Matur District, Agam Regency, West Sumatra, faces a major problem with a crop failure rate reaching 30%-35%. This issue is primarily caused by disruptions in nutrient flow due to the lack of continuous electricity, which affects pump operation. To address this problem, efforts are needed to ensure that the nutrient flow to the plants is maintained. The aim of this activity is to assist the hydroponic community in increasing plant production through the application of innovative technology. The solution implemented is the use of hybrid power generation system technology, integrating Solar Power Plants (PLTS) and PLN electricity. This system ensures that water pumps operate optimally, even at night or during bad weather. The implementation of this technology has been completed and directly tested. The pump is capable of delivering nutrients to all planting holes. The performance testing of the hybrid power generation system was conducted in the laboratory and at partner locations. The results of the system testing show that the voltage values meet the load requirements, with a voltage difference still within the tolerance range of 2.2% - 3.3%, thus not disrupting the motor's performance. The energy source switching time is <4 seconds, specifically 0.6 seconds from the solar power plant (PLTS) to the national grid (PLN) and 3.4 seconds in the opposite direction. This transition indicates that the hybrid power generation system operates efficiently, with pumps and lighting functioning well. Thus, it is expected that this system can significantly increase the productivity of hydroponic plants and boost the income of the hydroponic community.

Abstract

This study explores the challenges and aspirations of preserving traditional games in Nagari Sibakur, Indonesia, in the face of modernization and digitalization. The study was conducted through direct observation by 29 university students over a month in three hamlets in Nagari Sibakur. The findings indicate that children and adolescents' interest in traditional games has declined due to the influence of technology and contemporary lifestyles, resulting in the games being forgotten and neglected. This creates a generational gap, where the values of togetherness, mutual cooperation, and local wisdom inherent in traditional games are slowly being lost. However, efforts to reintroduce traditional games to children and use a fun approach can increase their interest, suggesting the possibility of rejuvenating this cultural heritage. Preserving traditional games requires strategic actions such as integrating them into the school curriculum, holding competitions, and empowering communities, as well as involving the active participation of all parties, including students, the community, and the government. With this collaboration, it is hoped that traditional games will not only survive but also thrive as part of a modern local cultural identity while remaining connected to their historical roots.
