Abstract

The problems related to pregnancy and childbirth including maternal and infant mortality rates can’t be removed from another causative factors that arise, one of the second cause from maternal mortality rates is preeclampsia, which is a specific disorder of hypertension caused by pregnancy at gestational age of more than 20 weeks with proteinuria and rarely occurs before 20 weeks gestational except if any kidney or trophoblastic disease. Hypertension and proteinuria to be a symptoms that often appears in preeclampsia diagnose. The relationship between of risk factor occur preeclampsia, that is blood pressure and protein urine which is the important indicator for enforcement of preeclampsia. The purpose of researchis analyze the relationship between of blood pressure and protein urine levels on the incidence of preeclampsia. The type of this research is analytic observational. Sample of this research is pregnant mother with preeclampsia in RSU Prima Husada Sidoarjo. The results use the Correlation Pearson test showed that p value for the systolic blood pressure is 0.791 and the diastolic blood pressure is 0.268, this is shows that blood pressure isn’t related with protein urine.

Abstract

Street sweepers, traffic officers, roadside sellers and motorcyclists, including students are subjects who are vulnerable to exposure to vehicle fumes. One of the air pollution generated from motor vehicle fumes is lead (Pb) which is toxic to humans and is accumulative. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between characteristic factors and lead levels in hair using the Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS) method. Respondents in this study were 32 male university students. The results showed a significance value of 0.274 (p> 0.05) on the parameter of PPE use, 0.049 (p <0.05) on the mileage parameter, and 0.576 (p> 0.05) on the smoking habit parameter. So it can be concluded that there is no effect of the use of PPE and smoking habits on hair lead levels and there is an effect of mileage on hair lead levels in student respondents.

Abstract

Alzaimer degerative diseases that attack the brain that occur due to several things including cholesterol and poisoning due to organopathic pesticides, cholinesterase. Triglycerides are a part of kolesterol which consists of about 20% of total cholesterol. Pesticide buildup in the body often occurs due to work risks. This study aims to determine how much cholinesterase activity and triglyceride levels are in workers exposed to organophosphate pesticides, and to determine the relationship of pesticide exposure to cholinesterase enzyme levels with triglyceride levels in workers who are exposed to workers exposed to pesticides. This research is an observational research with an experimental approach. The study was conducted at PT.X, which was exposed to 15 pesticides. This study uses a correlation test that will be shown if p <0.05. Based on the results of the study obtained based on the average results of cholinesterase activity obtained at 8,040 U/L while triglycerides at 186 mg/dL. And after the correlation test was obtained at 0.085 indicating that p> 0.05 so it was concluded that there was no relationship between cholinesterase activity with triglyceride levels.

Abstract

The isolate compound α-Mangostin was the most dominant compound found in the rind and trunk of the mangosteen fruit tree (Garcinia mangostana L.). These compounds are reported to have many pharmacological activities such as antibacterial, antifungal, antidiabetic, anti-cancer and several other bioactivities. The aim of this research was to measure the activity of α-Mangostin isolate using 13C and 1H NMR and to find out whether this compound had bioactivity on pancreatic physiology and histopathology in type II diabetes mellitus rats with the parameters measured were cholesterol and pancreatic histopathology. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Airlangga University, Surabaya. This research is a true experimental type because the data were taken through laboratory tests with the treatment of the research sample. The sample in this study were rats with induced diabetes mellitus. 30 rats were separated into 5 groups for each group of 6 rats. The results of this study There are differences in the effect of giving alpha mangiostin on blood cholesterol levels in rats that have been induced by diabetes mellitus, and there is a change in the morphology of the pancreas caused by free radicals.

Abstract

Anemia in pregnant women will often occur because of increasing gestational age, the increasing need for nutrients in the form of iron in the body which increases during the 2nd to 3rd trimester of pregnancy. Anemia has an impact of around 14-62% on pregnant women including the occurrence of Intra Uterine Growth Restriction (IUGR) which is a condition that causes fetal growth to be stunted which is characterized by the size and weight of the baby that is not appropriate during pregnancy. The next thing to worry about is the emergence of infection if the patient has IUGR. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship of leukocytes to IUGR in pregnant women who are anemic with the parameters measured being leukocyte levels, IUGR values in anemic patients. The study was carried out in an analytic observational manner, then samples were obtained from 24 patients. Then, the patients filled out informed consent indicating that the patient was willing to be a research sample. Furthermore, the patient's blood was taken to measure leukocyte levels and based on the KIA book, IUGR levels were measured. Based on the above, it shows that the value of the results of the Spearman correlation test is 0.085 (p> 0.05). It can be concluded that there is no relationship between leukocyte levels and IUGR values in anemic patients at IBI Surabaya Hospital.
