Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran polisakarida krestin (PSK) dengan waktu pemberian yang berbeda terhadap hitung jenis leukosit mencit yang diinfeksi Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Penelitian ini menggunakan 30 ekor mencit betina dewasa jenis Mus musculus strain BALB/C, berumur 8-10 minggu, berat badan berkisar 25-30 g. Polisakarida krestin (PSK) diisolasi dari Coriolus versicolor yang diperoleh dari alam. Infeksi menggunakan Mycobacterium tuberculosis strain H37Rv (ATCC 27294 T). Hewan percobaan dikelompokkan menjadi 6 kelompok sebagai berikut: kelompok I, hanya diberi akuades; kelompok II, hanya pemberian PSK; kelompok III, hanya dengan infeksi Mycobacterium tuberculosis; kelompok IV, pemberian PSK sebelum infeksi Mycobacterium tuberculosis; kelompok V, pemberian PSK sesudah infeksi Mycobacterium tuberculosis; kelompok VI, pemberian PSK sebelum dan sesudah infeksi Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Pemberian PSK dilakukan selama 7 hari berturut-turut melalui gavage. Infeksi Mycobacterium tuberculosis dilakukan sebanyak 2 kali dengan selang waktu 1 minggu melalui intraperitoneal. Hitung jenis leukosit dilakukan dengan mengelompokan masing-masing jenis leukosit dalam 100 sel leukosit pada apusan darah, dan data hasil pengamatan dianalisis dengan uji Kruskal-Wallis, kemudian untuk mengetahui signifikansi dilanjutkan dengan uji Mann-Whitney. Secara keseluruhan penelitian menunjukkan presentase jenis leukosit dengan jumlah tertinggi adalah neutrofil. Pada kelompok VI presentase monosit dan neutrofil meningkat melebihi normal, sedangkan presentase limfosit menurun, dan presentase basofil dan eosinofil tidak mengalami perubahan. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah PSK meningkatkan jumlah leuksosit mencit jenis neutrofil dan monosit pada waktu sebelum dan sesudah infeksi Mycobacterium tuberculosis

Abstract

Male reproductive ability ability has a linear correlation with libido and testosterone. Both are associated with various things main food consumption such as protein, vitamins and minerals. Aphrodisiac is an ingredient or drug that arouses sexual arousal or libido. Pumpkin is an example of food from plants with the highest content of zinc. This study was to determine whether there is a difference between the content of zinc on the peel, flesh and pumpkin seeds against sexual activity of mice. The experimental animals used were 24 male, group I mice as control group, Group II was grouped with pumpkin peel extract, Group III was grouped with extract of pumpkin flesh, Group IV was grouped with extract of pumpkin seeds. The dose used is 2gr / kg BB and volume of 0.2 ml is given for 35 days. Sexual Activity is observed every day by the position of male mice riding females. Based on Anova One Way test results showed there are differences in sexual activity mice males in each group (ρ 0.000). The difference of the result of the number of mounts indicated that the giving of yellow pumpkin extract had an effect on the increase of mating behavior of male mice. The group treated with the extract of pumpkin flesh showed the highest number of mice mounts (mean = 24,1667.Further research is needed to get a clearer picture of the composition of the pumpkin nutrients that indirectly affect fertility in men.

Abstract

Aspartame has a lower calorie rating than other sweeteners. for example, cyclamate, lactose, saccharin, fructose and maltosa. Although it has low calorie, aspartame have 60 times sweeter than sugar (sucrose). Induction of aspartame can cause elevated levels of blood glucose and damage to the pancreatic β cells of mice. The purpose of this study was to analyze the dosing of aspartame levels; 13 mg/Kg body weight, 39 mg/Kg and 78 mg/Kg and those effect to the levels of glucose, cholesterol and haemoglobin of female mice (Mus musculus). The methode of research laboratory experiments using a complete randomized design (RAL). This study was using 24 mice with 4 treatment groups. Mice were given aspartame during surgical treatment, mice were made to perform measurement of Hb levels, glucose levels and cholesterol levels of neonatal mice. Data analysis using the Kruskal Wallis because Gaussian data but not homogeneous. The results showed an increase in the levels of glucose and cholesterol levels, but statistically there is no difference in glucose levels (p = 0,087), Hb (p = 0,899) and cholesterol (p = 0,168) in mice (Mus musculus) who were given variations of the dose of aspartame.

Abstract

Daun jambu air (Syzygium aqueum) dikenal sebagai salah satu obat tradisional, untuk menyembuhkan beberapa infeksi akibat antigen berupa bakteri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kandungan senyawa aktif yang terdapat dalam daun jambu air dengan beberapa pelarut pada proses maserasi. Metode ekstraksi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah ekstraksi dingin berupa maserasi dengan pemilihan pelarut yakni metanol (CH3OH), etil asetat dan n-heksana. Uji fitokimia yang dilakukan adalah uji saponin, flavonoid, alkaloid dan triterpenoid/steroid. Dari uji yang dilakukan diketahui sampel ekstrak daun jambu air dengan pelarut metanol positif mengandung beberapa senyawa aktif berupa flavonoid, saponin, alkaloid dan triterpenoid. Ekstrak daun jambu air dengan pelarut etil asetat dan n-heksana positif mengandung beberapa senyawa aktif berupa flavonoid, alkaloid dan triterpenoid. Pelarut yang paling bagus untuk mendapatkan banyak senyawa aktif adalah metanol. Kata kunci : Jambu air (Syzygium aqueum), maserasi, senyawa aktif

Abstract

Aspartame is safe for consumption according to the prescribed ADI, but this artificial sweetener is not nutritious or does not contain calories so it is not recommended to be consumed during pregnancy. This study was to analyze cariometric effect of aspartame doses in the development of fetal mice (Mus muculus L.). The type of research used was experimental laboratory research on 24 adult mice with 4 treatment groups, control, aspartame dose 13 mg / Kg BB, 39 mg / Kg BB and 78 mg / Kg BB. Data was analyzed using SPSS 16 with one way ANOVA. Based on the results of the study there were changes in the number and weight of the fetus due to aspartame doses, there was no change in fetal length due of aspartame dose variations. Consumption of aspartame during pregnancy should be avoided because it can cause teratogenic effects. For further research, it is necessary to observe the morphology and histology of the fetus which is expressed by aspartame to determine the types of congenital abnormalities.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh ekstrak daging buah Kurma Ajwa (Phoenix dactylifera) terhadap hitung jenis leukosit embrio dan induk mencit (Mus musculus) bunting. Setiap perlakuan dibagi dalam empat kelompok perlakuan ekstrak. Kelompok I (kelompok kontrol), kelompok II (3 kurma setara 3,12 mg/kg BB mencit), kelompok III (5 kurma setara 5, 2 mg/kg BB mencit), dan kelompok IV (7 kurma setara 7, 28 mg/kg BB mencit). Ekstrak diberikan pada masa kebuntingan 14 sampai 18 hari melalui peroral. Pada hari ke 19 kebuntingan dilakukan pembedahan untuk diambil darahnya pada bagian jantung mencit. Hitung jenis leukosit melalui teknik apusan darah dengan mengamati 100 sel leukosit perbesaran 400 kali pada mikroskop. Hasilnya ekstrak daging buah Kurma Ajwa (P. dactylifera) berpengaruh signifikan terhadap hitung limfosit dan basofil, tetapi tidak berpengaruh terhadap hitung monosit, eosinofil dan neutrofil pada embrio mencit. Sedangkan pada induk mencit berpengaruh terhadap hitung eosinofil dan monosit dan tidak berpengaruh terhadap limfosit, basofil dan neutrofil. Abstract

Antioxidants are compounds that can counteract free radicals in the body due to the presence of active compounds such as flavonoids and phenolics. These active compounds can be cytotoxic, ie, compounds capable of inhibiting and stopping the growth of cancer cells by using toxicity test by BSLT (Brine Shrimp Lethality Test) method. This study aims to determine the antioxidant activity by DPPH (Dipheny Pycryl Hydrazil) method and toxicity test by BSLT method of Anastatica hierochuntica L extract. A. hierochuntica L extraction were done by maceration method with methanol solvent. The content of A. hierochuntica L extract compounds was done by phytochemical test to know flavonoid compounds, triterpenoid and sterol. Meanwhile, alkaloid and saponin and liquid chromatography to see flavonoid compounds of quersetin. Furthermore, the antioxidant activity test was carry out by the DPPH method and by BSLT method to observed the mortality of shrimp larvae. A. hierochuntica extract has antioxidant activity with IC50 value 77,23 μg / ml and toxicity value of LC50 44,97. A.hierochuntica L extracts potentially have antioxidant and cytotoxic properties.
