Abstract

The scientific reasoning of students at MA Negeri 1 Indramayu is in the moderate category. Biodiversity teaching materials based on ethnobiological studies have never been applied. This study aims to determine the influence of biodiversity teaching materials based on ethnobiological studies on the scientific reasoning of students at MA Negeri 1 Indramayu. The research method used, that is, quantitative. The design of this study, namely true experimental design with the type of posttest only control design. The population of this study, namely class X MA Negeri 1 Indramayu students consisting of 3 classes with a sample of class X MIPA 1 totaling 30 students as an experimental group and class X MIPA 3 totaling 29 students as a control group. The sampling technique uses cluster random sampling. The instruments used are in the form of tests and questionnaires. Data analysis using normality test, homogeneity test, t-test and likert scale. The results showed that the average scientific reasoning of the experimental group students was higher compared to the control group. Based on the hypothesis test value (thitung = 3.392 > ttabel 2.2002) so that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, that is to say, there is a significant influence of biodiversity teaching materials based on ethnobiological studies on the scientific reasoning of students in MA Negeri 1 Indramayu. Students' scientific reasoning is in the high category with a percentage of 66.72%.

Abstract

Abstract

Science literacy is one of the abilities that every individual student must have and is also a prerequisite for 21st-century life skills through integrated education, starting from family, school, and to society. This research aims to determine science literacy abilities and to determine the relationship between gender and class-level science literacy abilities in students in grades X, XI, and XII at Islamic Senior High School (ISHS) of Batu City. The research design used is quantitative research using descriptive methods (quantitative descriptive). The location of this research is at ISHS of Batu City. Purposive sampling was in the sampling process, which involved selecting a sample based on specific attributes, such as gender. There are 20 male and female students at the class level, and the results of ability in science literacy are X=46% and XI=60%. Based on this data, if it is based on the criteria for classes X, the results obtained for the gender aspect show that there is no significant interaction with the results of students' science literacy abilities. It can be concluded that there is a significant interaction between students’ science literacy skill and grade level.

Abstract

Less varied learning models often cause students' low scientific literacy abilities. This research aims to determine whether differentiation learning through a problem-based learning model based on learning styles can improve students' scientific literacy skills in the human respiratory system concept. The research method used in this research is quantitative. The population in this study was class XI MIPA SMAN 1 Lohbener, with a sample of class XI MIPA 5 and XI MIPA 2. The sampling technique uses a random sampling technique. The instrument used is nine multiple choice questions to measure scientific literacy skills using criteria questions C4-C5 adapted to learning indicators, and a learning style instrument includes 14 statements adapted to learning style indicators. After processing the data, the results of the scientific literacy abilities of the experimental class and control class students obtained Sig. 0.728 > 0.05, so there is no difference in scientific literacy abilities based on student learning styles. There is also a difference in scientific literacy abilities between the differentiated and undifferentiated problem-based learning models (Sig. 0.000 < 0.05). Additionally, there is no interaction effect between the problem-based learning model and student learning styles (Sig. 0.944 > 0.05). These results indicate that the learning model is more effective in the learning process for all students, while learning style influences how students absorb the information taught.

Abstract

Less varied learning method result in low scientific literacy of students. This study aims to determine whether the application of lesson study in learning can improve students' scientific literacy skills in the Respiratory System material. This research is action research carried out at SMA Negeri 1 Lohbener. The subjects in this study were students of class XI IPA 1 with a total sample of 22 people. The instrument used in this study was HOTs-based literacy question sheets which were given in each cycle to measure students' scientific literacy improvement. The results of data processing obtained an average score of scientific literacy skills in cycle I of 53.0 with a percentage of 53% and in the very low category, the average score in cycle II of 57.0 with a percentage of 57% and in the low category, and the average score in cycle III of 67.0 with a percentage of 67% and in the moderate category. The main factor causing an increase in students' scientific literacy skills only reaching the moderate category was students who were not used to answering HOTs-based literacy questions and were used to answering LOTs-type questions, so they experienced difficulties in doing the formative tests given. Even so, the application of lesson study in learning material on the respiratory system is proven to be able to improve students' scientific literacy skills at each level. Based on the results of observations of teachers and students during the implementation of cycle actions, it appears that the implementation of actions has reached the predetermined performance indicators

Abstract

Background: LKPD used is still in printed form and is not yet varied so that students' problem solving abilities are not optimal. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of PBL-based E-LKPD on students' problem-solving abilities at MAN 1 Indramayu. Method: This research is a quantitative research with the research design True Experimental Post-test only control design. Population in this study were all students of class X IPA MAN 1 Indramayu with a sample of class X IPA 3 as the control class and class X IPA 2 as the experimental class. Sampling technique in this study was taken using the Cluster Sampling technique. Data were collected by problem solving techniques and observation tests. Test instrument in this study was a description to measure students' problem-solving abilities. The observation sheet instrument contains problem solving indicators, PBL learning syntax, student activities, constraints, and descriptions.. Results:  Data analysis techniques using the t-test (Independent Sample T-test). Independent Sample T-test showed sig. (2-tailed) < 0.05, thus proving that there is a significant difference in the average increase in students' problem solving abilities between the experimental class and the control class.  Conclusion:  Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that there is an effect of using PBL-based E-LKPD on students' problem-solving abilities.
