Abstract

This study aims to investigate the impact of intellectual capital components, namely human capital, structural capital, relational capital, and capital employed on financial performance before, during, and after the COVID-19 pandemic crisis. This study analyzed 829 observation units from 168 non-financial Indonesian companies from 2018-2022. The data were analyzed using panel data regression with the help of EViews 13. The findings showed that in a 5-year period, only RC and CE significantly improve financial performance. However, only CE significantly improve financial performance before, during, and after the COVID-19 pandemic crisis. This indicates that non-financial Indonesian companies rely heavily on physical and financial capital investment in improving financial performance, both in non-crisis and crisis conditions. The findings offer implications for management and investors regarding the importance of optimizing IC investment, especially RC and CE efficiently to achieve high financial performance under uncertain conditions.

Abstract

The study of entrepreneurial intentions has emerged as a significant area of scholarly inquiry, given its fundamental role in driving economic development and fostering innovation across societies. This systematic literature review undertakes a comprehensive examination of the determinant factors influencing entrepreneurial intentions through an analysis of scholarly publications indexed in the Scopus database spanning the period from 2014 to 2024. The research methodology adheres to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) framework, through which 15 articles meeting rigorous inclusion criteria were systematically identified and analyzed. The analysis reveals a complex interplay of factors that shape entrepreneurial intentions, encompassing individual-level variables such as self-efficacy and motivational constructs, educational factors including entrepreneurship curriculum effectiveness, and environmental influences particularly centered on family dynamics and subjective normative pressures. Furthermore, the investigation illuminates distinct patterns in entrepreneurial intention development across secondary and tertiary educational contexts, offering valuable insights into the role of educational systems in cultivating entrepreneurial mindsets. The findings underscore the critical importance of familial support structures and intrinsic motivational drivers in nurturing entrepreneurial aspirations among students. Abstract

This study examines the impact of the debate technique on improving English public speaking skills among college students learning English as a foreign language. Conducting a Classroom Action Research (CAR) with 38 participants over 12 weeks, the researchers identified initial deficiencies in speaking abilities such as vocabulary, pronunciation, and fluency, highlighted by students' anxiety and low confidence. The intervention, implemented in two cycles, utilized British Parliamentary debate formats to develop critical thinking, argumentation, and public speaking proficiency. Results demonstrated substantial enhancement, increasing from 44.74% to 94.74% in students meeting required competency benchmarks, specifically being able to master public speaking with scores exceeding the passing grade. The findings affirm that debate techniques significantly foster confidence, fluency, and overall speaking abilities. This research highlights the importance of dynamic teaching methods in developing effective communicators in a globalized context. Keywords: Public Speaking; Debate; Classroom Action Research

Abstract

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of digital storytelling in enhancing the speaking skills of secondary EFL learners. The research responds to persistent challenges in speaking instruction, particularly students’ limited fluency, low confidence, and insufficient exposure to meaningful communicative tasks. Using a mixed methods design, the study involved an eight week intervention in which students created scripted digital stories through narration, multimedia editing, and collaborative production. Quantitative data were collected through pre-test and post-test assessments measuring fluency, pronunciation, vocabulary, and coherence, while qualitative data were obtained through observations, interviews, and student reflections. The findings reveal substantial improvements in speaking performance, especially in fluency and coherence, accompanied by increased engagement, reduced speaking anxiety, and heightened self awareness during the storytelling process. These results highlight that digital storytelling provides repeated oral practice and authentic communicative opportunities that support learners’ linguistic and affective development. The study offers implications for English teachers and curriculum designers by demonstrating that technology supported narrative tasks can be integrated into regular instruction to foster more interactive, creative, and student centered speaking learning environments.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of environmental performance on financial performance, with a focus on the moderating role of online search attention, using a sample of Indonesian State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in the 2021–2024 period. Data were collected from sustainability reports, financial statements, and Google Trends. A pilot study approach in moderated regression analysis was used to accommodate manifest variables and evaluate interaction effects between variables. The results indicated that environmental performance positively contributed to improved financial performance. Furthermore, online search attention strengthened the relationship between environmental performance and financial performance. The effect of environmental performance on financial performance after moderating variables was highly significant. This indicates that public interest strengthens the financial benefits of environmental practices. These findings highlight the strategic importance of both environmental responsibility and digital visibility in enhancing firm value. This study contributes to the ESG literature by integrating the role of online public attention and offers managerial implications for improving environmental communication and stakeholder engagement in achieving sustainable financial outcomes.
