Abstract

Abstract

Objective: To create an animal model of vesicovaginal fistula as a modality to develop therapy.Material and Methods: This study was an preliminary experimental study to create new fistula vesicovaginal formation in a rabbit model. Six female New Zealand white rabbits of Stem Cell Research and Development Center of Universitas Airlangga were used in this study and were divided into 3 groups in which there were 2 rabbits in each group. Vesicovaginal fistula formation was performed through laparotomy surgery. After the abdomen is opened, the Nasogastric tube is inserted vaginally into the anterior vaginal wall. The incision is made on the anterior vaginal wall and the posterior wall of the bladder. The Nasogastric tube that comes out of the vagina is inserted into the bladder incision to maintain the formation of vesicovaginal fistula. Both mucosal walls are sutured and tested to determine if there is any leak. Evaluation the model of vesicovaginal fistula was carried out 3 weeks postoperatively according the group.Result: Four out of six rabbits have formed vesicovaginal fistulas, which are from groups two and three. There are no complications during the treatment period until terminationConclusion: Rabbits have the potential to become experimental animals for the vesicovaginal fistula model. The best time to release a nasogastric tube to maintain a fistula is 2 weeks.

Abstract

HIGHLIGHT 1. Trend of delivery types during Covid-19 pandemic and the risk of urogynecology cases, particularly sexual dysfunction, pelvic floor dysfunction and stress urinary incontinence, was reviewed.2. Cesarean section was found higher than normal deliveries due to the consideration of possiblee exposure to the virus.3. Sexual dysfunction was found not to have relations to mode of delivery, but those with mode of delivery other than normal likely had dyspareunia at 18 months postpartum.4. The choice of method of delivery needs to be determined wisely by considering medical indications and the risk factors. ABSTRACTWomen's quality of life in the long term is also influenced by their reproductive health. Various diseases appear related to urogynecology cases such as sexual dysfunction, pelvic floor dysfunction and stress urinary incontinence. The study reviews the trend of types of delivery during the pandemic and the risk of urogynecology cases, especially in the three cases. The narrative review study was conducted using the PubMed, Science Direct, and Google Scholar databases. The results showed that the percentage of cesarean section was higher than normal deliveries because of the view on the safety of exposure to the virus. Several studies have found that sexual dysfunction was not related to mode of delivery but women who delivered by emergency caesarean section, vacuum extraction, or caesarean section were more likely to report dyspareunia at 18 months postpartum but adjusted for maternal age and other confounders. Meanwhile, compared with spontaneous vaginal delivery, cesarean delivery with a protective effect or reduction of stress urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, and pelvic organ prolapse. There is a tendency to choose a certain pattern of delivery so that the choice of method needs to be chosen wisely and through medical indications and consider risk factors for long-term reproductive health problems.

Abstract

Introduction: This study was conducted to show that early prevention and treatment of cervical cancer can save on treatment costs. Cervical cancer is one of the biggest threats to women's health. This is related to the low awareness of women who have had active sexual relations in carrying out early detection of cervical cancer so that it can increase the incidence of cervical cancer. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between social support and client satisfaction on IVA service satisfaction by public health center officers. Methods: This study used an observational analytic study with a retrospective cohort design. The sample size used was 70 respondents with the same distribution in each control group and the exposed group, each using 35 respondents. The sampling technique used consecutive sampling. Univariate analysis using Chi-Square test. Bivariate analysis using Spearman correlation test. Results: The results of Univariate analysis in the control group and the exposed group showed that age (p= 0.4), education (p= 0.136), occupation (p= 0.622), length of marriage (p= 0.073), number of sexual partners (p= 0.073). = 0.602) and the number of children (p = 0.151). The results of bivariate analysis showed that husband's support (p= 0.735), mother's support (p= 0.984), health cadre support (p= 0.320) and peer support (p= 0.725). There is no relationship/correlation between social support and service satisfaction. Conclusion: There are other factors that can affect the satisfaction of women of childbearing age with early detection of cervical cancer (VIA) apart from social support.

Abstract

Quality of life is important to achieve the best performance of mothers. Maternal quality of life is usually measured by WHOQOL-BREF standards (quality of life of the World Health Organization-BREF), SF-36 (Short-36), or MGI (Mother Generated Index). One factor that affects the maternal quality of life is breastfeeding. The practice of breastfeeding is the mother who is breastfeeding (giving only breast milk) and the mother who is not breastfeeding (with formula milk) as well as seeing the length of breastfeeding time for less than 6 months or more than 6 months. This literature review has research question with PICO standard to get the aim about the correlation between the practice of breastfeeding and maternal quality of life. 466 literatures were obtained from the SCOPUS, Proquest, Google Scholar, PubMed and EBSCOhost databases. Literature screening is done by looking at the inclusion and exclusion criteria that have been set so that 10 literatures will be reviewed. Most of the literature reports that mothers who breastfeed and continue to breastfeed even though only a month has a better quality of life than mothers who did not breastfeed. One study said that breastfeeding causes a decrease in the maternal quality of life, as well as several other studies that found no significant correlation between breastfeeding practices and maternal quality of life. This result can be used as a reference for the health policy to promote breastfeeding and quality of life.
