Abstract

Development is a changing process to improve human standard of life that strongly related to the activities of natural resource utilization. It is frequently found that these activities change the ecosystems and their resources. Eventually, these changes wil l give ser ious impacts to the envi ronments. The most distinct environmental problems are caused by resident migration to the coastal areas, coastal developments, and land limitation. Coastal reclamation is an example of human effort to respond to the land limitation in the coastal areas as observed in coastal areas of Labakkang Subdistrict. Reclamation activity is doing along the coast of Pundata Baji Village, whereas, in other villages, cutting off of mangrove areas as an alternative land expansion is increasingly practiced by the local communities. This Research was aimed to observe the landscape change from 1980 to 2010 at coast area in Labakkang Subdistrict. Each review considers Landsat Image Map (acquired in 1980); Landsat Image Map (acquired in 1990); Landsat Image Map-7 Enhanced Thematic Mapper Plus (ETM+) acquired in 2000); Spot Image 4 (acquired in 2005); and Spot 4 LAPAN (acquired in 2010). Result of research indicates that at coast area of Labakkang Subdistrict in 1980, there are 248.3 ha of mangrove vegetation, 2,756.63 ha inundation, and 4,157.0 ha open land. In 1990, there are 234.2 ha mangrove vegetation, 2,251.63 ha embankment, 933.2 ha rice field, and 582.0 ha open land. In 2000, there are 218.3 ha mangrove vegetation, 2,848.1 ha embankment, and 3,579.2 ha rice field. In 2005, it has 121.4 ha mangrove vegetation, 3,762.6 ha embankment, and 2,306.2 ha rice field. In 2010, it is found 48.9 ha mangrove vegetation, 5,029.35 ha embankment, and 749.98 ha rice field.

Abstract

This research was conducted in May 2018 in the coastal area of Banyuputih Subdistrict, Situbondo Regency with the aim of estimating the land area and production capacity of shrimp ponds that can be supported by Banyuputih coastal waters based on the rate of biodegradation of organic waste in the form of Total Suspended Solid (TSS). The results showed that the area of intensive ponds (stocking density of 126 birds / m2) that could be supported by waters was 39.30 hectares with shrimp production capacity of 739.72 tons / planting season, whereas for semi-intensive ponds (stocking density of 25 birds / m2) was 313.98 hectares with a maximum shrimp production capacity of 803.85 tons / planting season, and for traditional plus ponds (stocking density of 8 birds / m2) is 743.14 hectares with a maximum capacity of shrimp production of 578.90 tons / planting season. The simulation results of the three shrimp cultivation technologies (traditional plus, semi-intensive and intensive), obtained a combination of shrimp farm area that is still within the limits of environmental carrying capacity, namely: 5% (37.16 hectares) for traditional plus-tech shrimp farm land (8 tail / m2), 50% (157 hectares) for semi-intensive technology shrimp farms (25 individuals / m2), and 45% (17.69 hectares) for intensive technology shrimp farms (126 individuals / m2). The total land area of the third combination of technology is 211 hectares with shrimp production of 763.75 tons/planting season. The results of this study can be used as a reference for the development of shrimp ponds in a sustainable manner in the study area.

Abstract

Title : Millennial Visit Intention to the Clungup Mangrove Conservation (CMC) Tiga Warna Coastal Ecotourism in Malang Regency, East JavaThe integration of tourism with conservation principles is a future tourist management trend. Clungup Mangrove Conservation (CMC) ecotourism in Malang Regency, Indonesia, is a community-based ecotourism that adheres to the ecotourism idea. The CMC ecotourism destination, which has applied the philosophy of ecotourism that has not yet recovered, attracts visitors, including millennials, because of their environmental concerns. For this reason, this study aims to (1) analyze the role of the millennial generation’s environmental concern in determining the visit intention, (2) analyze the role of the TPB construct (Theory of Planned Behavior) in mediating the influence of environmental concern on the visit intention. This explanatory research uses a survey method for domestic visitors to the “CMC Tiga Warna” coastal ecotourism in May-June 2022. These research respondents were 628 domestic visitors. The data analysis method uses SEM-WarpPLS. Due to the successful involvement of TPB construct mediation (attitudes, subjective norms, and perceptions of behaviour control), millennials’ environmental concerns may impact their interest in coastal ecotourism. TPB’s construct position as a mediator variable between environmental concern and millennial visitors’ visit intention in coastal ecotourism boosted its utilisation. As the main predictor of visit intention, behavioural control must be increased, followed by subjective norms and attitudes. Local governments must keep the economy healthy to keep travel expenses rising. They also require enough money for trip.

Abstract

As stated in Article 8 of Law (UU) Number 8 Year 1999 regarding Human Rights, the state’s government is obliged to protect and demonstrate its citizens’ Human Rights. The state shall be committed to establishing protection and implementation of Human Rights as a discourse of necessity between the State, Constitution, and Citizens. The correlation between these three is foregrounded in Article 28I Section 4 in the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia. The law regarding the State’s obligation was later implemented by establishing the Ministry of Law and Human Rights and regional-level regulations by the Minister of Law and Human Rights Regulation Number 34 Year 2016 regarding the indicator standards of Human Rights in the Regency/Municipal levels. However, the regulation is presumably still inadequate at representing the Central Government and Local Government’s commitment to designing regulations integrating Human Rights in civil, political, socio-economic, cultural, and developmental rights. This study uses legal constructivism as its approach and aims to develop a legal system that implements principles of law and human rights in social institutions, legal institutions, social regulators, social integration, and social engineering. The results highlight the reconstruction of Law Number 23 Year 2014 regarding Local Government, which allows local government to administer Government affairs with the Minister's or Governor's joint approval. Furthermore, the Law a quo currently urges revisions in Article 12 regarding the concurrent government’s affairs on law and human rights. To achieve this, a nomenclature of provincial and regency/municipal Law and Human Rights Office (Diskumham) is on demand to handle affairs concerning law and human rights at regional levels, in accordance with Government Regulation Number 18 Year 2016 regarding Regional Agencies.

Abstract

According to BPS (Central Statistics Agency) data in 2021, catch production in NTT (East Nusa Tenggara) waters reached 190.594 tons and is potentially rising every year, so it is necessary to map potential fishing zones in the Ombai Strait. The method used is a weighting method to see areas that have and do not have the potential to become fishing zones. The data used is secondary data on Sea Surface Temperature (SST) and chlorophyll-a from Aqua-MODIS Level 3 imagery using a remote sensing approach and geographic information system. The research was conducted from September to October 2023 in the waters of the Ombai Strait. Differences in fishing potential zone maps can be seen from parameters such as sea surface temperature, chlorophyll-a, seasons, and data sources obtained. The spread of potential fishing areas occurred in the coastal areas of Timor Island and Flores Island. During 2022, February to October 2022 was a time with a very strong fishing potential zone, while January, November, and December had very weak fishing potentials.
