Abstract

Aceh Singkil Regency's primary objective is to grow the local economy, concentrating on superior goods or industries. Singkil Aceh Administratively, it is located far from the capital city of Nangroe Aceh Darussalam (NAD) Province, which contributes to the region's isolation and underdevelopment. The study examined the economic prospects for accelerated development in Aceh Singkil. Firstly, this study used location quotation (LQ) analysis to establish the leading sector. Secondly, the SWOT analysis used a focus group discussion (FGD). Thirdly, the analysis of stakeholder categories used Grimble and Wellard's theory. The findings showed that agriculture, forestry, and fishery continued to be the primary emphasis of local economic growth of the Aceh Singkil community, and the stakeholders belonging to the dominant category of local economic determinants include the local governments, legislatures, and banks. The dominance of the agriculture, forestry, and fishery sectors is inseparable from the geographical location of Aceh Singkil, a coastal area with a fluvial morphology that allows the three sectors to become the foundation of the community's economy. This research implies that with the existence of three stakeholder dominations, namely local government, legislature, and banking, it is necessary to increase the role of the community, such as farmer groups, planters, and fishermen, in initiating welfare improvement programs independently to support the acceleration of the local economy.

Abstract

National food security begins with the provision of food in the smallest locations, mainly villages and sub-districts. Kemaro Island is part of Palembang City, which is administered by Kelurahan 1 Ilir Palembang City. Due to limited accessibility, circumstances for providing basic requirements, particularly food and clean water, are severely constrained. Foods such as vegetables and fruit are still scarce in this area, particularly milk, cereals, and other nutritional foods. Thus, it is vital to undertake measures to boost the availability and accessibility of food for independent home farmers in this region, given the territory's status as a distinct island. Efforts to enhance the food security of farmer households on Kemaro Island can be accomplished through the implementation of a participatory in Rumah Cukup (Rucup) program. Extension is conducted as a coaching and mentoring activity aimed at enhancing the food security of farmer households through the Rumah Cukup (Rucup) initiative, in which farmer households cultivate a variety of horticulture commodities.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the livelihood assets of the COVID-19 pandemic among rainfed rice farmers in Kalampadu Village, Muara Kuang District, and Ogan Ilir Regency. This research will discuss research issues through Ellis' theory about farmers' livelihood assets. Researchers used descriptive research with a qualitative approach because the issue of rural livelihoods requires farmer subjectivity and in-depth data analysis. Data collection techniques used were participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and literature studies. Researchers used a case study research strategy to identify farmers' socio-cultural-economic-ecological and farmer household assets. The research results show that farmer households have five livelihood assets: 1) natural resource capital, (2) physical capital, (3) human capital, (4) financial capital, and (5) social capital. Massive changes in the livelihood assets of farmer households in Kalampadu Village began with the COVID-19 pandemic, which caused most farmers to change professions to online trading (Lazada and Shope).
