Abstract

Islamic propaganda rhetoric is one of the basic competencies in the course of rhetoric at the University of Muhammadiyah Purworejo. Rhetoric as the study of science communication is still a concern. The purpose of this article is to describe the islamic propaganda rhetoric, imperative islamic propaganda rhetoric and character formation of students Muhammadiyah Purworejo University. Data were analyzed and the results of a descriptive analysis, a phenomenon which is not the form of numbers or the coefficient of correlation between the variables. The population in this study is the fourth semester students of academic year 2015/2016. Samples were taken from each class in islamic propaganda rhetoric containing imperative speech. Islamic propaganda rhetoric is the art of delivering (news), conveying information, calling, giving warning about Islam correctly. Imperatives islamic propaganda rhetoric of students are able to realize the character education among others: Religious, honest, tolerance, discipline, hard work, creative, independent, democratic, curiosity, nationality spirit, love the homeland, rewarding achievements, friendly/communicative, peaceful , fond of reading, environmental care, social care and responsibility

Abstract

Abstract : Social critique is essential for evaluating the functioning of social systems within a community and can be communicated through various forms. Critical thinking is necessary to foster empathy toward one’s surroundings. However, social critique has yet to receive adequate attention in school curricula, despite educators' potential to use literature as a tool to develop students’ critical thinking skills. This study aims to describe the social critique within Adhitya Mulya's novel Sabar Tanpa Batas through qualitative descriptive research using content analysis. Data collection involved literature review techniques, observation, and note-taking. The findings reveal that the social critique in Sabar Tanpa Batas includes: (1) Poverty, which encompasses the challenges and costs of accessing education, low income levels, and difficulties in finding employment; (2) Crime, including cases of abuse; (3) Family disorganization, such as the absence of financial support from the head of the family and instances of child abuse; (4) The role of youth in society, including undervaluation of certain skills; (5) Population issues, such as the unaffordability of housing. Based on validity, relevance, and interviews with informants, the social critique in Sabar Tanpa Batas can serve as an alternative literary teaching material for twelfth-grade high school students.Keywords: social criticism, literature teaching material.

Abstract

The need to strengthen literacy in Indonesian language learning requires teachers to be innovative in designing assessment instruments that are relevant to current developments. One approach that can be used is the application of multimodal texts, namely texts that combine various communication modes such as writing, images, sound, and symbols to convey meaning more comprehensively. This community service program was carried out with the aim of improving the competence of Indonesian language teachers at the junior high school level throughout Sragen Regency in developing literacy questions based on multimodal texts that align with the demands of the Independent Curriculum. The activity was carried out through two months of intensive training and mentoring, which included a theoretical understanding of the concept of multimodal texts, analysis of sample questions, and practice in developing literacy-based assessment instruments. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in teachers' understanding of the principles of multimodal texts and their ability to design questions that challenge students' critical and creative thinking skills. Through this program, teachers not only gained new knowledge but also were motivated to be more adaptive to developments in digital media and innovation in learning. Thus, this activity contributed to improving the quality of Indonesian language learning that is contextual, interactive, and meaningful for students.

Abstract

Abstrak : Tulisan siswa dapat dijadikan sebagai salah satu tolak ukur keberhasilan siswa dalam pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia. Namun, faktanya masih banyak siswa SMK yang belum bisa menerapkan EYD edisi V dalam menulis sebuah teks. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mendeskripsikan kesalahan ejaan pada teks laporan hasil observasi siswa kelas X TPTAV SMK PN 2 Purworejo 2023/2024 dan (2) pembelajaran teks laporan hasil observasi di SMK. Fokus penelitian ini adalah kesalahan ejaan pada teks laporan hasil observasi siswa kelas X TPTAV SMK PN 2 Purworejo yang meliputi (a) kesalahan penggunaan huruf kapital, (b) kesalahan penuisan kata, (c) kesalahan penulisan angka atau lambang bilangan, dan (d) kesalahan penggunaan tanda baca. Dalam pengumpulan data, digunakan teknik baca dan simak. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah metode agih. Dalam penyajian hasil analisis data digunakan metode informal. Dari hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa (1) kesalahan ejaan pada teks laporan hasil observasi siswa terdiri atas: (a) kesalahan penggunaan huruf kapital pada awal, tengah, dan nama geografi, (b) kesalahan penulisan kata depan ditulis serangkai, kata ulang disingkat dengan 2, dan berimbuhan ditulis terpisah dengan kata yang mengikutinya, (c) kesalahan penulisan angka atau bilangan pada tahun yang ditulis tidak menggunakan tanda hubung(-), serta ukuran panjang yang ditulis menggunakan huruf, dan (d) kesalahan penggunaan tanda baca titik pada akhir kalimat, tanda koma pada konjungsi, serta tanda hubung pada kata ulang, dan (2) pembelajaran teks laporan hasil observasi, peserta didik harus dapat menganalisis kebahasaan. Untuk menganalisis kaidah kebahasaan, peserta didik perlu mendalami materi dasar bahasa Indonesia, seperti ejaan. Kata Kunci : kesalahan ejaan, LHO, pembelajaran

Abstract

Penelitian ini menjelaskan aspek psikologi humanistik tokoh utama Novel Anak Gembala yang Tertidur Panjang di Akhir Zaman karya A. Mustafa dengan kajian Psikologi Humanistik Abraham Maslow. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif, teknik pengumpulan data ini dilakukan dengan teknik simak dan catat, teknik analisis data dengan teknik content analysis atau analisis isi, dan teknik penyajian hasil analisis dilakukan dengan metode informal, yaitu menyajikan hasil analisis data dengan kata-kata. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, kebutuhan fisiologis Mbok Wilis meliputi pakaian, makan, minum, tempat untuk tinggal, dan kebutuhan seks. Kebutuhan keamanan meliputi kebebasan dari rasa takut dan perlindungan dari bahaya yang mungkin timbul dari orang lain maupun lingkungan. Kebutuhan memiliki dan mencintai meliputi rasa cinta Mbok Wilis terhadap pasangannya, afeksi yang diperolehnya dari orang-orang yang dekat dengannya, serta hubungan yang terjalin dengan orang lain dan keluarga, termasuk kedua orang tuanya. Kebutuhan akan harga diri tercermin dalam penerimaan dan apresiasi terhadap kebaikan yang ditunjukkan oleh Mbok Wilis, serta tanggung jawabnya terhadap kedua orang tuanya. Terakhir, kebutuhan aktualisasi diri menyangkut pengembangan diri Mbok Wilis dalam mengoptimalkan potensi melalui kegiatan dakwah.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the development of a deep learning-based learning model to improve the speaking skills of students at SMP Muhammadiyah Purworejo. This study uses research and development with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The research location was at SMP Muhammadiyah Purworejo in the 2024/2025 Academic Year for class VIII students with a population selection of class VIII students. Meanwhile, the research sample with a purposive sampling technique was 30 students representing diverse speaking abilities. Data were collected through tests, questionnaires, and observations. The test measures speaking skills, the questionnaire collects student responses, and the observation sheet observes the activities of teachers and students during the learning process. Interactive methods were used to analyze the data. The results showed an increase of 11.3 points in pretest data of 28.9 and posttest of 40.2. In addition, the questionnaire and observation showed that both teachers and students showed positive responses to the application of the deep learning model. Therefore, it can be concluded that students of Muhammadiyah Purworejo Middle School can acquire better speaking skills with this model.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the didactic values contained in the novel Nonik Jamu by Rina. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method with a data source in the form of the novel Nonik Jamu by Rina Suryakusuma. The data collection technique used is the note-taking technique. The focus of this research study is the didactic values that appear in the plot, characters, and conflicts that shape the development of characters in the story. The results of the study show 12 didactic values contained in the novel, namely the values of helping others, empathy, honesty, tolerance, respect for others, persistence and tenacity, sharing, usefulness, repaying evil with goodness, prioritizing good from bad, danger of evil, and the quality of good deeds. These values are conveyed subtly through the experiences of the main characters in dealing with various life problems, so as to provide moral lessons that are easy for readers to understand. This research has many benefits for life because the values found can be used as character learning materials in daily life. This novel also emphasizes the importance of courage, sincerity, and strong determination in facing social challenges, thus inspiring readers to be wiser in their attitudes and actions.

Abstract

This study aims to examine how university regulations and academic culture shape halal dress awareness among female students as an expression of Islamic values within the academic sphere. Halal dressing is conceptualized not merely as adherence to sharia but also a symbol of Islamic identity and academic ethics in Islamic higher education institutions. In this study, a qualitative method was used with a phenomenological and descriptive-analytical approach. Data were obtained through interviews with female students, lecturers, and university administrators, as well as direct observations of dressing culture, and a review of regulatory documents concerning Islamic dress codes. Subsequently, data analysis was conducted through reduction, thematic categorization, and interpretation of the fiqh values of the four major Sunni schools of thought, namely Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi‘i, and Hanbali, to identify the meeting point between Islamic legal norms and modern academic culture. The results showed that halal dress regulations at UIN Walisongo and UNISSULA were inclusive, educational, and morally nurturing rather than coercive. According to Imam al-Shafi‘i and Hanbali, complete covering of the aurat represents honor and obedience to sharia, while the Hanafi and Maliki schools provide room for adaptation to local socio-cultural contexts. The academic culture at both universities reflects a synthesis of piety, professionalism, and freedom of expression within the framework of Islamic ethics. The dress code regulations are normative-educational in nature, integrating sharia-based values with academic ethics to foster an awareness of dressing that is not only halal in a legal sense but also thayyib in a moral sense. The success of the halal dress culture in Islamic coastal Java university is determined by the synergy between regulations, spiritual awareness, cross-madhhab fiqh understanding, and the internalization of maq ¯as. id al-syar¯ı‘ah in academic life. In conclusion, this study contributes to developing a model of Islamic academic culture that is moderate, contextual, and characteristic of Islamic coastal Java university.

Abstract

Educational media has become a crucial tool that teachers need to provide in the teaching process, particularly in the current era of digital disruption. One relevant option for instructional media is digital comics. Digital comics hold the potential to be an effective and engaging learning tool. This study aims to conduct training on using instructional media in the form of Quizizz and digital comics through the Comic Life application in versions 3, 5, and 15. The methodology involves approaches such as lectures, discussions, and demonstrations. The activities take place at Wilcambidik Ngombol Elementary School, Purworejo Regency, targeting 30 teachers from PAUD (early childhood education), TK (kindergarten), and SD (elementary school) levels in the Wilcambidik Ngombol area. The challenges faced are the limited skills of teachers in developing innovative instructional media like digital comics and interactive quizzes. To address this, the proposed solution is to organize training on using Comic Life versions 3, 5, and 15, as well as Quizizz, for PAUD, TK, and SD teachers in the region. Furthermore, resource support and mentoring will be provided to enhance the development of innovative instructional media. This engagement activity encourages the participation of teachers from various school levels to enhance their understanding of utilizing digital comic media and the Quizizz platform. Preliminary analysis results indicate unmet needs in instructional media development. After participating in training involving experts like Dr. Khabib Sholeh, Mr. Suryo Daru Santoso, and Nurul Setyorini, participants demonstrated improved understanding and skills in digital literacy, utilizing the Quizizz platform, and implementing the Comic 2 Lite approach in the teaching process.

Abstract

Gaya bahasa menjadi perhatian anak muda saat ini namun kenyataan mereka kurang materi gaya bahasa. Maka dari itu lirik lagu merupakan hal yang tepat apabila dijadikan objek pembelajaran terutama pada pembelajaran gaya bahasa sebab lirik lagu sangat erat dikehidupan anak muda saat ini. Dengan gaya bahasa, maka peserta didik akan diperkenalkan dengan kata-kata lewat lirik lagu untuk membangun imajinatifnya dan menambah kosa kata. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini mendeskripsikan: (1) gaya bahasa pada lirik lagu album Handmade oleh Raisa; (2) relevansi pembelajarannya di SMA kelas X. Data dan sumber data penelitian ini adalah album Handmade oleh Raisa. Objek dan fokus penelitian ini adalah gaya bahasa. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik catat. Teknik analisis data menggunakan metode deskriptif. Teknik penyajian hasil analisis data menggunakan metode analisis isi. Dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa: (1) gaya bahasa album Handmade oleh Raisa berupa alegori, koreksi, pleonasme, antitesis, metafora, personifikasi (2) relevansi pembelajaran puisi pada lirik lagu dalam album Handmade oleh Raisa yang terdapat pada KD. 3.17 (Menganalisis unsur pembangun puisi) untuk mempermudah proses kegiatan belajar mengajar dengan indikator pencapaian. Instrumen penilaian terdiri dari aspek sikap, pengetahuan, dan keterampilan.Kata Kunci: Lirik lagu, Puisi, Relevansi pembelajarannya
