Abstract

Textile waste is one of the 2nd largest types of waste in the world. The increasing amount of textile waste will have an impact on the environment. There has not been much development of clothing with Zero Waste techniques in Indonesia, and students as social beings also play an important role in environmental renewal through waste reduction. The purpose of this research is to understand the level of knowledge of fashion students about Zero Waste Pattern based on the level of cognitive knowledge, namely knowledge, understanding, application, analysis, synthesis and evaluation. The method in this research is descriptive quantitative with one variable, namely knowledge about Zero Waste Pattern. The research sample was 78 respondents of active Fashion Cosmetology students of the Family Welfare Education Study Program at Padang State University, class of 2019-2022. Data collection using a questionnaire with the Gutman Scale. The results showed that the knowledge of fashion students about Zero Waste Pattern was measured based on six knowledge indicators, namely: knowledge, understanding, application, analysis, synthesis and evaluation. The results showed that the Knowledge Indicator percentage was 56.41%, the Understanding Indicator percentage was 62.82% (high category), the Application Indicator percentage was 64.10%, the Analysis Indicator percentage was 57.69%, the Synthesis Indicator percentage was 80.77% and the Evaluation Indicator percentage was 74.36%. So, it can be concluded that the Fashion Management Students' Knowledge of Zero Waste Pattern is at a “high” level with an average percentage of 79.49%.

Abstract

The academic success of students can be measured by their aptitude for classroom learning, the role of lecturer as motivator facilitator, and fulfils other responsibilities in the learning process of a specific unit of competency or subject. The teaching presentation of the fashion pattern construction course incorporated many instructional techniques, including lectures, interactive Q&A sessions, practical exercises, and assignments. Such learning should be cultivated to ascertain the cognitive abilities of pupils in comprehending and effectively applying information to attain favourable learning outcomes. One of the techniques that lecturers can utilize to improve student learning outcomes in the Fashion Pattern Construction course is by adopting the Task Learning approach, because this approach incorporates activities for the benefit of students that can raise their interest and interaction in the course, enhance their engagement and participation in the classroom. So, this study aimed at increasing students’ learning outcomes through task learning approach. The employed approach is classroom action research, comprising four distinct stages: planning, activity, observation, and reflection. A total of 34 students, all of whom were D3 fashion design students, were the subjects of this study. The findings demonstrated the efficacy of the Task Learning methodology in enhancing student learning outcomes, as seen by the percentage increase in student learning outcomes observed between cycle 1 and cycle 2.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media video tutorial interaktif pada mata pelajaran keterampilan vokasional tata busana, khususnya pembuatan pola baju kurung basiba bagi siswa disabilitas tunarungu di SLB Negeri 1 Padang. Pengembangan media ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pemahaman dan kemandirian belajar siswa melalui pendekatan visual yang adaptif terhadap karakteristik pembelajar tunarungu. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan model pengembangan 4D (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). Subjek penelitian terdiri atas dua siswa tunarungu kelas XII SLB Negeri 1 Padang. Instrumen penelitian meliputi lembar validasi ahli materi, ahli media, dan kuesioner praktikalitas guru serta siswa. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif kuantitatif untuk menilai tingkat validitas dan kepraktisan media yang dikembangkan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media video tutorial interaktif dinilai sangat valid oleh ahli materi dan ahli media, serta sangat praktis berdasarkan penilaian guru dan siswa. Media ini efektif membantu siswa memahami langkah-langkah pembuatan pola baju kurung basiba, meningkatkan motivasi, dan mempermudah pembelajaran mandiri bagi siswa tunarungu. Penelitian ini terbatas pada uji coba kelompok kecil di SLB Negeri 1 Padang dan hanya mencakup materi pembuatan pola baju basiba, sehingga diperlukan pengembangan lanjutan dengan cakupan materi dan subjek yang lebih luas. Media video tutorial interaktif ini dapat dijadikan alternatif pembelajaran vokasional inklusif berbasis teknologi di sekolah luar biasa. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi orisinal melalui pengembangan media pembelajaran berbasis video interaktif yang mengintegrasikan pendekatan visual, teks, dan bahasa isyarat, disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan komunikasi siswa tunarungu dalam konteks pembelajaran keterampilan tata busana.

Abstract

Traditional learning methods need to be complemented with instructional media that can serve as a reference for students in the design process. Based on learning outcome data at SMK Negeri 1 Lembah Gumanti, Class XI Fashion Design, more than 60% of students have not yet achieved the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM) in the manual fashion design competency. This study is a development research that aims to produce an instructional video for manual fashion design that is valid and practical for use by Class XI Fashion Design students at SMK Negeri 1 Lembah Gumanti. The result model employed is the Alessi and Trollip model, which consists of three main stages: planning, design, and development. The results of the media validation obtained a score of 84.5%, and the material validation obtained a score of 89.8%, both categorized as very valid. The practicality test by teachers achieved a score of 93.7%, the small-scale trial 95%, and the large-scale trial 91.5%, all categorized as very practical. Based on these results, the developed instructional video media is declared highly valid and practical for use in the Fashion Expertise Concentration subject at vocational high schools.

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan guru Tata Busana di SMKN 3 Payakumbuh dalam pembuatan desain busana 3D menggunakan software CLO3D. Isu pokok yang diangkat adalah kurangnya pemanfaatan teknologi digital dalam proses desain busana di sekolah-sekolah, terutama dalam hal penggunaan software 3D. Program ini dilaksanakan melalui pelatihan intensif yang melibatkan guru-guru untuk mengenal, memahami, dan menguasai teknik dasar serta penggunaan software CLO3D dalam merancang busana. Metode yang digunakan adalah pelatihan langsung dengan pendekatan tutorial, diskusi, dan praktek langsung. Hasil dari pelatihan ini menunjukkan peningkatan keterampilan guru dalam menggunakan teknologi 3D dalam desain busana, yang akan mempengaruhi kualitas pembelajaran dan pengembangan kompetensi siswa dalam bidang Tata Busana. Implikasi dari kegiatan ini adalah terbangunnya kemampuan guru dalam mengadaptasi teknologi terbaru, yang mendukung pengembangan kurikulum berbasis industri serta menyiapkan lulusan yang lebih siap menghadapi tuntutan dunia kerja yang berbasis digital.

Abstract

Batik Tanah Liek merupakan batik khas Sumatera Barat. Batik tanah liek mendapatkan penghargaan dari Organisasi Pendidikan, Keilmuan, dan Kebudayaan PBB (UNESCO) sebagai Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity semenjak bulan Oktober 2009. Sejak saat itu tren batik tanah liek mulai dikenal luas di pasar nasional maupun  pasar fashion internasional. Namun industri batik belum memiliki kemampuan untuk menvisualisasikan motif batik tersebut dalam bentuk grafis 3 dimensi. Penggunaan software CLO3D memungkinkan para desainer busana  membuat desain busana yang lebih akurat, efisien, dan realistis dengan simulasi 3 dimensi. Oleh karena itu, pemahaman  penggunaan software CLO3D sangat dibutuhkan bagi guru produktif tata busana dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran bagi siswa serta menberikan nilai tambah bagi lulusan SMKN 1 Lembah Gumanti. Program pengabdian ini berhasil memberikan sosialisasi, pelatihan dan pendampingan ke mitra Guru Produktif Tata Busana SMKN 1 Lembah Gumanti mengenai pemanfaatan teknologi 3D dalam pembuatan desain pola dan penempatan motif batik tanah liek.

Abstract

AbstrakLimbah industri busana merupakan salah satu konstributor utama limbah tekstil yang berdampak signifikan terhadap lingkungan apabila tidak dikelola dengan baik dan tepat. Pendekatan zero waste menjadi solusi strategis untuk meminimalkan limbah dengan cara mendaur ulang dan memanfaatkan kembali material yang ada. Program ini bertujuan untuk memberdayakan ibu PKK di Nagari Sungai Jambu melalui pelatihan pemanfaatan limbah busana menjadi hiasan busana yang memiliki nilai estetika dan ekonomis. Metode yang digunakan adalah Participatory Action Research (PAR), dengan tahapan pelaksanaan meliputi: sosialisasi, penyampaian teori, pelatihan, demonstrasi, praktik, pendampingan, evaluasi, dan tindak lanjut. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam pengetahuan peserta terkait konsep zero waste, keterampilan teknis dalam pengolahan limbah tekstil, serta motivasi berwirausaha. Pelatihan ini juga berhasil menghasilkan berbagai karya hiasan busana berbasis limbah yang berpotensi dipasarkan secara lokal. Dengan demikian, program ini tidak hanya berkonstribusi pada pengurangan limbah tekstil, tetapi juga memperkuat ekonomi kreatif berbasis komunitas melalui pemberdayaan perempuan. Kata kunci: zero waste; limbah industri busana; hiasan busana; pemberdayaan; ibu PKK. Fashion industry waste is one of the main contributors to textile waste that has a significant impact on the environment if not managed properly. The zero waste approach is a strategic solution to minimize waste by recycling and reusing existing materials. This program aims to empower PKK mothers in Nagari Sungai Jambu through training in the utilization of fashion waste into fashion ornaments that have aesthetic and economic value. The method used is Participatory Action Research (PAR), with implementation stages including: socialization, theory delivery, training, demonstration, practice, mentoring, evaluation, and follow-up. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in participants' knowledge related to the concept of zero waste, technical skills in processing textile waste, and entrepreneurial motivation. This training also succeeded in producing various waste-based fashion decoration works that have the potential to be marketed locally. Thus, this program not only contributes to the reduction of textile waste, but also strengthens the community-based creative economy through women empowerment. Keywords: zero waste; fashion industry waste; fashion embellishment; empowerment; women PKK.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian evaluasi (evaluation research) dengan menggunakan model CIPP (context, input, process, product). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada SMK N 4 Surakarta. Kurikulum entrepreneur diterapkan pada kompetensi keahlian Tata Busana dan Tata Boga. Populasi pada penelitian ini terdiri dari guru produktif sebanyak 38 responden, siswa kelas entrepreneur sebanyak 132 siswa dan siswa non entrepreneur (Kecantikan dan Perhotelan) sebanyak 108 responden sehingga total responden dari siswa sebanyak 240 responden. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah angket, wawancara, chek list, dan dokumentasi. Uji validitas dilakukan dengan validitas isi yaitu expert judgement. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif dan uji perbandingan antara siswa entrepreneur dengan siswa non entrepreneur (Kecantikan dan Perhotelan) dengan mengunakan uji Chi-square. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa: (1)  Kriteria Context, Input, Process, Product yang di peroleh dari Angket A (Respon guru) dan angket B ( Respon siswa) Berdasarkan nilai Skweness menunjukan hasil yang baik dan perlu dipertahankan, (2) hasil perbandingan siswa entrepreneur dengan siswa non entrepreneur dengan uji Chi-square dari kriteria input, process, product menunjukan perbedaan yang signifikan.

Abstract

The teaching of basic fashion at SMKN 3 Pekanbaru, particularly in the topic of pleat-making, still relies on traditional media such as PowerPoint presentations and sewn samples, resulting in suboptimal learning processes. This study aims to examine the validity and practicality of instructional videos for teaching various types of pleats to Grade X Fashion students at SMKN 3 Pekanbaru. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation), excluding the evaluation stage. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and questionnaires, with instruments covering aspects of software engineering, instructional design, and visual communication. Validation results indicate that the video media are highly valid, with scores of 90% from media validators and 92% from material validators. Practicality testing yielded scores of 98% from teachers (highly practical) and 89% from students (highly practical). These findings confirm that the developed instructional video is both valid and practical for use in teaching the production of various types of pleats.

Abstract

This study developed a learning video for the Draping course as a solution to the problem of learning media that is still limited to jobsheets, students' difficulties in understanding jobsheets without clear visuals, limited lecture hours, and students also still experience difficulties in making Draping illustrations in the Draping course. This study aims to produce a learning video media tutorial Draping illustrations and describe its validity and practicality for Fashion Design students of the Department of IKK FPP UNP. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop), without the Disseminate stage. The research subjects validator consisted of four experts, namely 2 media experts and 2 material experts, lecturers teaching praktikalita the Draping course, 10 students praktikalitas in small group trials, and 30 students praktikalitas in large group trials. The instrument was a validation and practicality questionnaire with a Likert scale assessment. The results of the media validation obtained a score of 94% and 90% for material experts, with an average of 92% in the very valid category. The practicality test for the lecturer reached 91%, the small group 87%, and the large group 89%, with an average of 90% in the very practical category. Thus, this video learning medium is declared very valid, very practical, and suitable for use in Draping lectures.
