Abstract

AbstrakTanaman karet (Hevea brasiliensis) merupakan salah satu komoditi unggulan di daerah Kabupaten Sijunjung. Namun, setiap tahun produksi getah karet terus mengalami penurunan hingga berdampak terhadap kesejahteraan petani. Selain faktor teknis, penurunan produksi tersebut disebabkan pula karena kurang tersedianya sistem informasi yang memadai sebagai wadah petani untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan akses pasar. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk merancang sistem informasi produksi karet berbasis website sehingga memudahkan petani dalam mendapatkan informasi pra dan pasca panen tanaman karet. Metode penelitian yang dilakukan adalah melalui pendekatan struktural dan perancangan sistem dengan menggunakan metode waterfall, sedangkan untuk pendekatan statistik metode pengambilan sampel acak terstratifikasi (stratified random sampling) dengan ukuran sampel lima persen dari total petani karet dan observasi pengumpulan data primer dan sekunder. Data primer diperoleh dengan penelitian langsung dan wawancara, sedangkan data sekunder sebagai informasi pendukung analisis penelitian. Hasil yang didapatkan dari penelitian ini adalah sebuah desain sistem informasi menggunakan wordpress yang dapat diakses melalui website. Informasi yang disajikan berupa sejarah perkebunan karet, informasi produksi karet, informasi harga karet, informasi teknologi inovasi seperti varietas / klon unggul tanaman karet, pupuk, dan teknologi penyadapan karet, informasi teknik budidaya dari pengolahan media tanam, penanaman, pemeliharaan dan peremajaan, penanggulangan hama dan penyakit, panen dan pascapanen, serta rantai pasok karet Kecamatan Koto VII.Kata kunci: Sistem Informasi, Metode Waterfall, Tanaman Karet. Abstract[Production Information System for Rubber Plants (Hevea Brasiliensis) in Koto VII District, Sijunjung Regency] The rubber plant (Hevea brasiliensis) is one of the leading commodities in the Sijunjung Regency area. However, every year rubber sap production continues to decline until it has an impact on the welfare of farmers. In addition to technical factors, the decline in production was also due to the lack of adequate information systems as a forum for farmers to increase knowledge and market access. The purpose of this study is to design a website-based rubber production information system to make it easier for farmers to get pre- and post-harvest information on rubber crops. The research method carried out is through a structural approach and system design using the waterfall method, while for the statistical approach, the stratified random sampling method with a sample size of five percent of the total rubber farmers and observation of primary and secondary data collection. Primary data are obtained by direct research and interviews, while secondary data is used as supporting information for research analysis. The results obtained from this research are an information system design using wordpress which can be accessed through the website. The information presented is in the form of rubber plantation history, rubber production information, rubber price information, innovation technology information such as superior varieties / clones of rubber plants, fertilizers, and rubber tapping technology, information on cultivation techniques from processing planting media, planting, maintenance and rejuvenation, pest, and disease control, harvesting and post-harvest, and rubber supply chain of Koto VII District.Keywords: Information Systems, Waterfall Method, Rubber Plants.

Abstract

Financial management is the heart of a business. Many businesses fail and eventually go bankrupt due to poor financial management. Quality products and services with sound financial management will be helpful with thorough financial planning. Empowering MSMEs is one of the government's commitments. Universities have a role in helping the government in empowering MSMEs. Therefore, Andalas University has organized various programs to carry out this role. One of the programs organized by Andalas University is the Business Camp activity. Business Camp activities consist of several types of empowerment material, including MSME financial management. First Business Camp activities with Financial Management material were conducted online using the Zoom Meeting Application. The activity was held on Saturday, 28 October 2023. The main participants in this activity were MSME owners whom Andalas University accompanied. However, this activity did not close the opportunity for other MSMEs who want to join. Therefore, as many as 80 participants had taken part in this activity. The result of this activity was the motivation for MSMEs to separate their financial books first so that sound financial management can be carried out. This activity is essential to carry out so that MSME businesses can become businesses that continue to grow.

Abstract

The rice agroindustry faces challenges due to high inefficiency and negative environmental impacts from excessive resource use. This study aims to improve production processes using Green Value Stream Mapping (GVSM) to reduce non-value-added activities and optimize natural resource usage. The research involves literature review, field observation, interviews, brainstorming, and expert opinions. The production process from seeds to distribution consumes 265 kWh of energy and 8 million liters of water, generates 10,532 kg of waste, and impacts 1.2 hectares of biodiversity. The study confirms that the GVSM strategy enhances operational efficiency and contributes to broader environmental sustainability. The research provides practical guidelines for rice agroindustry companies to implement more environmentally friendly and efficient production practices.

Abstract

Johor Production is one of the companies engaged in the garment industry and supplier of convection products. This company was established in 2018, and has consistently provided a variety of high-quality products. Its products have been trusted by various government agencies, private companies, schools, and specific communities in Medan City, North Sumatra. Over time, more new companies have emerged that operate in similar fields, leading to increased competition and the need for business analysis and development methods in order to maintain their existence. This community service activity aims to assist Johor Production in developing a business model, namely the Business Model Canvas (BMC) to support the company’s growth. The method used in this service includes educational activities through online Zoom meetings for BMC material presentations and direct practice at Johor Production’s production site. During the presentation of the material, the team from Johor Production seemed to pay attention enthusiastically. The discussion and question and answer sessions proceeded smoothly. The direct practice results identified nine (9) BMC elements, each of which is clearly described. These nine elements will be the basis for the development of convection business from Johor Production.Johor Production merupakan salah satu perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang garment industry dan supplier produk konveksi. Perusahaan ini telah berdiri sejak 2018 yang selalu konsisten dalam menghadirkan berbagai produk berkualitas. Produk yang dihasilkan telah dipercayai oleh berbagai instansi pemerintah, swasta, sekolah, hingga komunitas tertentu di Kota Medan, Sumatera Utara. Seiring berjalannya waktu, semakin banyak munculnya perusahaan baru yang bergerak pada bidang serupa. Akibatnya, persaingan akan semakin ketat dan perlunya suatu analisis dan metode pengembangan usaha agar eksistensinya tetap terjaga. Kegiatan pengabdian ini ditujukan untuk membantu dan mendampingi Johor Production dalam menyusun model bisnis, yaitu Business Model Canvas (BMC) agar perusahaan semakin berkembang. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini ialah edukasi melalui pemaparan materi BMC secara online dengan Zoom meeting dan praktek langsung di lokasi produksi Johor Production. Selama penyampaian materi, tim dari Johor Production terlihat memperhatikan dengan antusias. Diskusi dan proses tanya jawab berlangsung lancar. Dari hasil praktek langsung di lokasi diperoleh sembilan (9) elemen BMC yang masing-masing diuraikan dengan jelas. Kesembilan elemen ini akan menjadi dasar pengembangan usaha konveksi dari Johor Production.

Abstract

Inovasi produk merupakan salah satu strategi utama dalam mempertahankan daya saing industri kopi, khususnya di tengah meningkatnya permintaan terhadap produk kopi dengan nilai tambah tinggi. Namun demikian, pelaksanaan proyek inovasi kerap menghadapi berbagai kendala, terutama dalam aspek perencanaan, pengelolaan sumber daya, dan pengendalian mutu. Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) merupakan pendekatan dalam manajemen proyek yang mampu menguraikan ruang lingkup proyek menjadi unit-unit kerja yang lebih terstruktur dan terukur, sehingga dapat membantu meminimalkan risiko dalam pelaksanaannya. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji penerapan WBS dalam proyek inovasi produk kopi melalui pendekatan systematic literature review terhadap 21 publikasi ilmiah selama 10 tahun terakhir. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa struktur WBS efektif diterapkan di setiap tahapan proyek, mulai dari riset dan pengembangan (research and development), pengadaan bahan baku, proses produksi, pengujian kualitas, hingga tahap pemasaran dan distribusi. Setiap tahapan memperlihatkan bahwa penggunaan WBS dapat meningkatkan efisiensi waktu, ketepatan alokasi anggaran, serta kualitas hasil akhir produk. Namun demikian, implementasi WBS juga menghadapi tantangan, seperti keterbatasan pelatihan sumber daya manusia dan kurangnya dukungan teknologi pada skala usaha kecil dan menengah (UMKM). Kajian ini menyimpulkan bahwa adopsi WBS secara adaptif dapat menjadi solusi strategis dalam pengelolaan proyek inovatif di industri kopi, terutama dalam rangka meningkatkan efektivitas, efisiensi, dan daya saing produk di sektor agroindustri.

Abstract

Bengkuang merupakan salah satu komoditas unggulan bagi masyarakat Sumatera Barat, khususnya di Kota Padang, yang bahkan mendapat julukan sebagai “Kota Bengkuang.” Namun, dengan semakin beragamnya sumber bahan baku dalam industri makanan, eksistensi produk berbahan dasar bengkuang semakin terancam. Hal ini tercermin dari menurunnya tingkat produksi bengkuang, khususnya di wilayah Kota Padang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang manajemen proyek dalam perencanaan diversifikasi produk olahan bengkuang dengan menggunakan metode Gantt Chart. Diversifikasi produk olahan bengkuang diperlukan untuk meningkatkan nilai tambah dan daya saing bengkuang sebagai komoditas lokal yang memiliki potensi besar dalam pengembangan industri pangan fungsional. Metode yang digunakan dalam penulisan artikel ini adalah studi literatur (literature review). Proses diawali dengan pencarian referensi melalui artikel ilmiah yang diperoleh dari Google Scholar, menggunakan aplikasi Harzing’s Publish or Perish dalam rentang tahun 2014–2024, mencakup publikasi nasional maupun internasional. Kata kunci yang digunakan meliputi “Manajemen Proyek Agroindustri,” “Teknik Diversifikasi Produk Pangan/Umbi-umbian,” dan “Produk Olahan Bengkuang.” Selanjutnya, dilakukan penerapan metode Gantt Chart yang dapat memberikan gambaran waktu secara terstruktur dan efisien untuk setiap tahapan kegiatan, mulai dari identifikasi produk hingga rekomendasi potensi produk olahan berbahan dasar bengkuang. Diharapkan hasil dari riset ini dapat menjadi acuan strategis bagi pelaku UMKM dan pengembangan agroindustri dalam merancang inovasi produk olahan berbasis komoditas lokal seperti bengkuang.

Abstract

 Porang (Amorphophallus muelleri) adalah salah satu jenis tanaman yang tumbuh dalam hutan dengan kandungan serat pangan yang sangat tinggi. Umbi porang berpotensi memiliki nilai ekonomis yang tinggi, karena baik untuk kesehatan dan dapat diolah menjadi berbagai macam olahan untuk mencukupi kebutuhan pangan sehari-hari. Tujuan dari penelitian ini ialah mengetahui proses pengolahan umbi porang menjadi tepung konjac, dapat mengetahui pengaruh variasi waktu pengeringan terhadap kadar air tepung konjac, kadar protein, dan mutu organoleptik tepung konjac. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode kjedahl dalam pengujian kadar protein dan menggunakan metode oven dalam pengujian kadar air dan metode hedonik dan skoring untuk uji organoleptik. Rancangan penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 1 faktor yaitu variasi waktu pengeringan pada pengolahan umbi porang menjadi tepung konjac, kemudian data dianalisis menggunakan ANOVA (a5%). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, uji organoleptik warna hedonik yang lebih tinggi dan rendah masing-masing dengan nilai sebesar 3,56 (P3) dan 3,40 (P1) dan nilai terhadap warna skoring yang lebih tinggi dan rendah ialah dengan nilai sebesar 2,72 (P1) dan 2,12 (P2). Nilai aroma hedonik yang lebih tinggi dan rendah masing-masing memperoleh indeks nilai sebesar 3,20 (P2) dan 3,16 (P1) dan nilai terhadap aroma skoring yang lebih tinggi dan rendah ialah sebesar 3,04 (P2) dan 2,84 (P1). Nilai kadar air yang lebih tinggi dan rendah masing-masing adalah 15,23% (P1) dan 9,29% (P3) dan nilai terhadap kadar protein yang lebih tinggi dan rendah masing-masing adalah 11,44% (P1) dan 9,57% (P3). Kata Kunci: Kadar Air, Kadar Protein, Pengeringan, Porang, Tepung Konjac

Abstract

Nagari Talang Anau Tourism Village is one of the palm sugar producing areas that has been known for a long time by the community. In this area, there are many sugar palm trees and several small industries engaged in processing sap into palm sugar. However, the industry has not developed optimally and still uses conventional methods for its business management strategy. Therefore, we carried out training activities to prepare a business strategy based on the business model canvas (BMC) to the people of Nagari Talang Anau. The training was conducted using the lecture method by the speaker about BMC and continued with direct practice of BMC preparation. Some of the facilities and infrastructure supporting this service activity include stationery, BMC material, loudspeakers, laptops, and projectors. During the presentation, participants seemed enthusiastic to the material presented. The discussion went in two directions which was marked by the emergence of various questions related to BMC. The BMC consists of 9 elements including target market, consumer value proposition, channels, consumer relationships, revenue sources, main activities, human resources, cooperation, and cost structure. Through this preparation, it is expected to be able to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the business that has been carried out and help the palm sugar industry to focus and be rational in determining business development targets.

Abstract

Limau Manis Village as Kampung Manggis is supported by the production of mangosteen in Padang City which is number 2 (two) in West Sumatra and 80% of mangosteen in Padang City comes from Pauh Subdistrict, with the center being in Limau Manis Village and the existence of Kampung Manggis brings hope for the community to improve their economy and will have an impact on the economy of the Padang City community. The skin of mangosteen fruit can be processed into value-added products. However, farmers and local businesses still face several challenges, such as the lack of knowledge and technology to process mangosteen peels into economically valuable products. Abundant mangosteen peels during the harvest season are often discarded or burned, causing environmental impacts such as soil and air pollution. However, due to the lack of public knowledge on mangosteen peel processing as waste, an innovative solution is needed to turn mangosteen peel waste into a new source of income through the development of competitive derivative products. This community service activity is designed as a strategic step to empower the community, optimize local potential, and build an innovative, sustainable mangosteen agroindustry, creating value-added products and improving the economic welfare of the community. In addition, this activity is also expected to be a model of agroindustry development based on local potential that can be developed. The purpose of this community service activity is to provide training in improving the knowledge, skills of the community in processing mangosteen skin, increasing the added value of mangosteen skin into mangosteen skin tea and mangosteen skin syrup products that have a broad impact on economic, social and environmental improvement.
