Abstract

Muatan padatan tersuspensi (MPT) merupakan material endapan yang melayang dalam air yang bergerak tanpa menyentuh dasar perairan. Besar nilai konsentrasi MPT dipengaruhi oleh adanya masukan (influx) dari daratan dan aliran sungai. Proses hidro-oseanografi seperti arus dan pasang surut memberikan pengaruh terhadap sebaranMPT di suatu lokasi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui nilai konsentrasi dan pola sebaran MPT di Perairan Karangsong, Kabupaten Indramayu.Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif, penentuan lokasi menggunakan metode purposive sampling, pengambilan data arus menggunakan metode lagrange dan analisis konsentrasi MPT di laboratorium menggunakan metode Gravimetri.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan konsentrasi MPT di Perairan Karangsong ketika menuju pasang berkisar antara 40-230 mg/l dan ketika menuju surut berkisar antara 10-90 mg/l. Hasil pengamatan arus menunjukkan arah arus ketika menuju pasang dominan ke arah Tenggara, ketika menuju surut dominan ke arah Barat Laut dan Timur Laut. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa nilai konsentrasi terbesar berada di daerah muara sungai dan semakin rendah ke arah laut.

Abstract

The waters of Morosari and Gonjol River is along the stream has been utilized for various activities such as industry, agriculture and local resident. Measurement of the concentrations of Cr in a water, sedimens, and cockles showed in the period of june 2010 as a whole is below the limit of AAS accuracy <0.01 mg/l (in the water of Morosari and Gonjol River). Cr metal Concentrations in water ranges from 0.04 to 0.29 mg/l at Morosari River and 0.09 to 0.22 mg/l at Gonjol River in July 2010. The Cr concentrations in sedimens ranges from<0.01 to 6.26 mg/kg at Morosari River and <0.01 to 9.810 mg/kg in Gonjol River. The Cr Concentrations in the cockles were below the limit of AAS accuracy <0.01mg/kg. Cr concentrations in water on June 2010 based on the Decree of Minister of Environment No. 51 Year 2004 were uncertainty, but Cr concentrations in period of July 2010 were above the limit 0,005 mg/l for marine biota and 0,002 mg/l for marine tourism. While in the sediments, referring to the quality standard set by the Ontario’s Ministry of Environment of Canada, the Cr concentrations were above the maximum limit (0.11 mg/kg) in other word, the sediments were heavily polluted. But in the soft tissue of Cockles (Anadara granosa), Cr concentrations were below the limit (<0.01 mg/kg), it means the Cockles still are unpolluted yet.

Abstract

Tapak River in Semarang City District Tugu alleged to have received the negative impacts of disposal of industrial wastes, aquaculture activities, and the existence of settlements in the surrounding streams containing heavy metals and can degrade water quality. Heavy metals such as Pb and Fe into the aquatic environment will experience precipitation, dilution and dispersion, then absorbed by the organisms that live in these waters. When exposed to organisms, high concentrations of heavy metals can be toxic and tend to accumulate in vital organs. Accumulation may have an impact on the food chain that affect human health. This study aims to determine the content of heavy metals lead (Pb) and iron (Fe) in water, sediment, and mussels (breathing viridis) in the River District Tread monument city of Semarang. There are four stations are used as the sampling site. A station is located close to the highway, Station B is located close to the sewer plant, Station C is located close to residential area, and Station D is located at the mouth of the river. The results showed that the average value of the highest content of Pb in the water at station A (1.11 mg / l). The average value of the highest content of Fe in the water at Station B (1:33 mg / l). The average value of the highest content of Pb in the sediments at Station A (62.87 mg / kg). The average value of the highest content of Fe in the sediments at Station A (59232.37 mg / kg).

Abstract

Perairan Wiso, Ujungbatu, Jepara merupakan wilayah perairan yang memiliki aktivitas cukup padat, seperti aktivitas nelayan yang dapat berdampak pada kenaikan konsentrasi logam berat dalam sedimen dasar. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui konsentrasi logam berat timbal dan besi pada sedimen, mengetahui hubungan antara konsentrasi logam berat dengan karbon organik total dan ukuran butir sedimen. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada 15 Oktober 2017 dengan metode kuantitatif. Konsentrasi logam berat disajikan dalam bentuk peta sebaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan konsentrasi timbal berkisar 33,5705 mg/kg – 79,6378 mg/kg dan 0,2793 mg/kg – 90,1040 mg/kg untuk besi. Konsentrasi timbal dan besi tidak selalu dipengaruhi oleh keberadaan karbon organik total dan ukuran butir sedimen akan tetapi konsentrasi timbal dan besi lebih dipengaruhi oleh jarak dari muara sungai sebagai sumbernya.

Abstract

Adsorpsi merupakan proses penting dalam mengontrol transfer logam dari fase terlarut menjadi fase padatan. Logam Pb, Cu dan Zn merupakan logam yang dalam konsentrasi tinggi membahayakan bagi lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memprediksi model adsorpsi Pb, Cu dan Zn dalam sistem air laut-sedimen di Muara Sungai Banjir Kanal Barat, Semarang. Sampel air dan sedimen diambil dari 7 stasiun. Untuk mendapatkan konsentrasi Pb, Cu dan Zn, sampel air diekstraksi menggunakan larutan organic APDC_MIBK. Sedangkan untuk sampel sedimen melalui tahapan destruksi menggunakan asam chlorida (HCl) dan asam nitrat (HNO3) pada suhu 1000C selama 8 jam. Pembacaan nilai absorbansi dilakukan dengan AAS merk Shimidzu tipe 680 AA. Data yang didapat dikalkulasi berdasarkan model adsorpsi yaitu model Partisi, model Freundlich dan model Langmuir. Hasil perhitungan linieritas menunjukkan bahwa transfer ion logam Pb, Cu dan Zn ke dalam sedimen mengikuti model Langmuir dengan koefisien determinasi (R2) 0,72 untuk Pb, 0,96 (Cu) dan 0,73 (Zn). Sementara nilai kapasitas adsorpsi maksimum logam Pb (11,01-25,72), logam Cu (22,88-112,79) dan Zn (216,68-25.106). Kapasitas adsorpsi maksimum antara fase terlarut terhadap material partikel jauh lebih besar dibanding antara sistem terlarut terhadap sedimen.KATA KUNCI: Adsorpsi, Freundlich, Langmuir, model, partisi.

Abstract

Muara Sungai Banjir Kanal Barat Semarang merupakan wilayah yang berpotensi mengalami eutrofikasi akibat buangan limbah rumah tangga dan industri. Sebagian besar penelitian sebelumnya lebih berfokus pada fosfor dalam sedimen dasar dan fosfat terlarut, sedangkan kandungan fosfor anorganik dalam total suspended solid (TSS) di perairan muara dan laut menerima lebih sedikit perhatian. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui sebaran fosfor anorganik partikulat (PIP) di perairan sekitar muara Sungai Banjir Kanal Barat Semarang. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan pada lapisan permukaan (kedalaman 0,5 m). Analisis TSS dilakukan dengan metode gravimetri. Ekstraksi asam PIP dilakukan berdasarkan metodologi ekstraksi konvensional, menggunakan 1 M HCl, diikuti oleh prosedur untuk menurunkan keasaman dan dianalisis dengan metode spectrophotometric phosphomolybdenum blue pada panjang gelombang 880 nm. Konsentrasi PIP yang didapatkan berkisar antara 0,42 µmol/g – 1,28 µmol/g dengan nilai rata-rata sebesar 0,54 µmol/g. Sebaran PIP dipengaruhi oleh arus pasang surut, total suspended solid (TSS) dan salinitas. Sebaran PIP dominan ke arah barat – barat laut karena pengaruh arus pada saat pasang menuju surut. Konsentrasi PIP menurun seiring berkurangnya konsentrasi TSS dan meningkatnya nilai salinitas. Banjir Kanal Barat estuary is an area that has the potential to experience eutrophication due to household and industrial waste disposal. Most previous research has focused more on phosphorus in basic sediments and dissolved phosphate, whereas the inorganic phosphorus content in total suspended solid (TSS) in estuarine and marine waters received less attention. The purpose of this study was to determine the distribution of particulate inorganic phosphorus (PIP) in the waters around the Banjir Kanal Barat estuary. Sampling was carried out on the surface layer (0.5 m depth). TSS analysis was performed using the gravimetric method. PIP acid extraction was carried out based on conventional extraction methodology, which required 1 M HCl, followed by a procedure to reduce acidity and analyzed by spectrophotometric phosphomolybdate blue method at a wavelength of 880 nm. PIP concentrations obtained ranged from 0,42 µmol/g – 1,28 µmol/g with an average value of 0.54 µmol/g. Distribution of PIP is influenced by tidal currents, total suspended solid (TSS) and salinity. Distribution of PIP is dominant to west – northwest direction due to the influence of currents at ebb current. PIP concentration decreases with decreasing TSS concentration and increasing salinity.

Abstract

Sungai Banjir Kanal Barat dan Banjir Kanal Timur merupakan sungai besar yang berperan dalam mempengaruhi nilai kualitas perairan Semarang. Sungai ini membawa material dan limbah yang berasal dari darat kemudian mengalir ke laut melalui muara sungai. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui nilai konsentrasi zat padat tersuspensi (MPT) dan fosfat serta pola distribusinya. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Februari 2019 dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Metode penentuan lokasi menggunakan purposive sampling pada 22 stasiun yang dapat merepresentasikan wilayah muara dan laut. Penentuan MPT secara gravimetri  dan fosfat menggunakan metode asam askorbat. Hasil konsentrasi MPT berkisar antara 50-290 mg/L dan fosfat 0,95-0,16 mg/L. Pola distribusi secara horisontal MPT menunjukkan lebih tinggi di daerah dekat pantai dan pola sebaran vertikal menunjukkan lebih tinggi di permukaan (0,2 m) dibanding di bagian bawah (0,8 m). Pola sebaliknya ditemukan pada sebaran fosfat dengan nilai lebih tinggi di dasar dan pola sebaran spasialnya menunjukkan konsentrasi tinggi ditemukan di wilayah timur yaitu di Muara Sungai Banjir Kanal Timur. Sungai Banjir Kanal Timur memberikan kontribusi yang besar terhadap unsur hara fosfat terlarut.  The Banjir Kanal Barat  and  Banjir Kanal Timur River  are major rivers that play a role in influencing the quality value of Semarang waters. This river carries material and waste originating from the land and then flows out to the sea through the river mouth. This study aims to determine the concentration value of suspended solids (MPT) and phosphate and the distribution pattern. This research was conducted in February 2019, using descriptive quantitative methods. The method of determining the location uses purposive sampling at 22 stations that can represent the estuary and sea areas. Gravimetric and phosphate determination of MPT using the ascorbic acid method. The results of MPT concentrations ranged from 50-290 mg / L and phosphate from 0.95 to 0.16 mg/L. Spatial distribution of MPT shows a high concentration in the coastal area and vertically, the distribution is higher at the surface (0.2 m) than at the bottom (0.8 m). This pattern is different from the phosphate which is found to be higher at the bottom with its spatial distribution showing a high concentration in the eastern region, namely in the estuary of Banjir Kanal Timur. This estuary of Banjir Kanal Timur has a large contribution to phosphate ions.

Abstract

Water fertility will determine the ammount of aquatic biotas (especially fish) that can live in the area. The high concentration of chlorophyll-a will show that water productivity in the area is high and fertile. The availability of chlorophyll-a in the waters is affected by oceanographic condition. One of them is the current pattern. The purpose of this study is to determine the distribution of chlorophyll-a spatially and temporally and its relation with current patterns in the northern waters of Central Java. The data that used in this research includes: chlorophyll-a data that obtained from level III Aqua MODIS imagery, current model data was obtained from MyOcean.eu, rainfall data, and sea surface temperature data that also obtained from Aqua MODIS satellite imagery. Sampling was done by purpossive sampling method. Distribution of chlorophyll-a that happened in Norrthern Waters of Central Java fluctuates every month. The largest concentration of chlorophyll-a was located close to the coastal area. The largest concentration of chlorophyll-a happened in June 2015 and 2016. Current pattern that happened in 2015 – 2016 changed every month and it was affecting the distribution of chlorophyll-a. However, the distribution of chlorophyll-a was not fully affected by the current pattern. There were several other factors such as river runoff and intensity of sunlight that could affect the chlorophyll-a distribution. Keywords : Chlorophyll-a, Phytoplankton, Current, Wind, Moonsoon

Abstract

Pembuangan limbah dan lumpur ke Sungai Porong diduga akan berdampak bagi lingkungan sekitarnya, khususnya meningkatnya konsentrasi padatan tersuspensi (TSS) dan mempengaruhi sebaran fitoplankton di wilayah tersebut. Tujuan dari dilakukannya penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui konsentrasi muatan padatan tersuspensi, kekeruhan dan kelimpahan fitoplankton di perairan muara Sungai Porong, Kabupaten Sidoarjo. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif. Data yang dikumpulkan sebagai variabel ukur adalah muatan padatan tersuspensi, kekeruhan, kelimpahan fitoplankton dan kecepatan serta arah arus. Variabel pendukung meliputi data pasang surut dan peta bathimetri wilayah muara Sungai Porong. Data yang diperoleh selanjutnya dianalisis menggunakan program Arc GIS 10, sehingga menghasilkan output berupa distribusi spasial. Konsentrasi muatan padatan tersuspensi 542-885 mg/l. konsentrasi kekeruhan 3.7-20.5 NTU. Kelimpahan fitoplankton 153-238 ind/l. Berdasarkan data tersebut dapat diketahui bahwa sebaran muatan padatan tersuspensi dan kekeruhan memiliki kaitan dengan kelimpahan fitoplankton pada saat surut, meskipun pada kuantitas yang tidak selalu sama. Arah sebaran bergerak ke arah Timur atau menjauhi muara sungai. ABUNDANCE OF PHYTOPLANKTON AND TSS VALUE AS AN INDICATOR FOR PORONG RIVER ESTUARY WATER CONDITIONSDisposal of waste and mud into Porong River is expected to have an impact to the surrounding environment, particularly the increasing concentration of suspended solids (TSS) and affect the distribution of phytoplankton in the region. The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between the concentration of TSS and abundance of phytoplankton as an indicator for determinate condition of Porong River Estuary. Determining the location of sampling by purposive sampling method. The data were then analyzed with statistical methods and spatially using ArcGIS 10 program. The concentration of suspended solids charge 542-885 mg/L. concentration of 3.7-20.5 NTU turbidity. The abundance of phytoplankton 153-238 ind/L with a diversity index ranged from 0.4 to 0.62. Hydrodynamic modeling simulated using ADCIRC module of SMS 8.1 software with a current velocity in the range of 0 to 0.04 m.s-1. Distribution of TSS and turbidity linked to the abundance of phytoplankton at low tide, although the quantity is not always the same, based on the diversity index and the condition of the Porong River estuary is in category of lightly polluted.Keywords: Diversity Index, Phytoplankton, Porong estuary, Totally Suspended Solids

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe waters of Mangunharjo, Semarang and Marunda, Jakarta are located in the area of industrial and dense population. There is the activity of industrial, household, urban waste and agricultural in the land or along the river upstream can potentially as a source of pollutants and impacting the aquatic environment. Pollutants get into the water together with a suspension of sediment through river water flow and precipitation in the coastal environment. The study aims to determine the geochemical characteristics of sedimentary phosphor from two different locations. Determination of the phosphate fraction of sediment, using sequential determination extraction (SEDEX). The results showed that the concentration of the inorganic phosphorus sediment fraction has a similar relative distribution of Mangunharjo and Marunda waters i.e. Fe-P Ca-P Ads-P. The concentration of Ads-P, Ca-P, and Fe-P in Mangunharjo water is between 0.20-0.26 μmol g-1, 2.77-3.60 μmol g-1, and 4.60-5.74 μmol g-1 and Marunda water is between 0.28-0.61 μmol g-1, 2.91-4.13 μmol g-1, and 0.92-2.83 μmol g-1, respectively. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik geokimia sedimen phosphor dari dua lokasi yang berbeda. Penentuan lokasi penelitian menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Penentuan fraksi phosphat sedimen, menggunakan ekstraksi bertingkat (SEDEX). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasi dari fraksi inorganic phosphor sedimen memiliki distribusi relatif yang serupa antara Perairan Mangunharjo dan Marunda yaitu Fe-P Ca-P Ads-P. Konsentrasi Ads-P, Ca-P, dan Fe-P di Perairan Mangunharjo  adalah antara 0.20 - 0.26 μmol g-1, 2.77 - 3.60 μmol g-1, dan 4.60 - 5.74 μmol g-1 dan Perairan Marunda adalah antara 0.28 - 0.61 μmol g-1, 2.91 - 4.13 μmol g-1, dan 0.92 - 2.83 μmol g-1, secara berurutan.
