Abstract

Indonesia terdiri dari berbagai suku yang memiliki beragam budaya. Kekayaan budaya tersebut dapat kita ketahui salah satunya melalui cerita rakyat daerah. Nilai-nilai kehidupan, adat-istiadat, dan pandangan hidup tertuang di dalamnya. Akan tetapi, adanya perbedaan bahasa menyebabkan penyebaran cerita rakyat daerah terbatas. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan penerjemahan untuk menjembataninya. Kegiatan penerjemahan bukanlah suatu hal yang sulit, namun tanpa adanya pemahaman terkait teknik-teknik penerjemahan tentu akan memberikan kendala bagi seorang penerjemah. Atas dasar itulah, pelatihan teknik penerjemahan diadakan. Sasaran peserta pada pelatihan ini dikhususkan kepada para mahasiswa Prodi Sastra Indonesia, Universitas Jambi yang memiliki andil untuk menyebarluaskan karya sastra. Kegiatan pelatihan ini diadakan pada hari Senin, tanggal 17 Maret 2025 secara luring. Metode yang digunakan meliputi metode ceramah, tanya jawab dan quiz. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan respon positif dari para mahasiswa. Hal ini dapat diketahui dari hasil penyebaran angket kepada mahasiswa, yang mayoritas jawabannya menyatakan kebermanfaatan pelatihan ini untuk meningkatkan kualitas terjemahan cerita rakyat daerah.

Abstract

Abstract  Few realize that swearing is not always used to express negative emotions. It can also be utilized to convey positive feelings, such as compliments. Swearing in compliments is a phenomenon identified on X, the social media platform that was formerly known as Twitter. The purpose of this study is to examine the pragmatic meaning and the pragmatic function of racial swearing in compliments on X. This study is classified as descriptive qualitative research. The data of this study consisted of racial swearing in the compliment utterances on X. The observational method was used to gather the data. In the meantime, the data were analyzed using the identity method by referring to the theories of Hughes (2006), Kreidler (2002), Ljung (2011), and Spears (2000). The results of the data analysis are presented by using informal method. The study's findings demonstrate that the racial swearing in compliments on social media X has the pragmatic meaning of ‘guy’. In addition, it has pragmatic functions as noun supports and anaphoric use of epithets. As a noun support, the racial swearing was used to assist the compliment word, which was usually in the form of an adjective. On the other hand, as the anaphoric use of epithets, the racial swearing was used as an anaphoric pronoun, a pronoun that refers back to another noun in the utterance. It is anticipated that this study would lessen the misunderstanding that Indonesian EFL (English as a Foreign Language) students may have when interacting with other English speakers on social media X.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan tentang gangguan berbahasa yang dialami oleh tokoh Dodo dalam film Miracle In Call No.7 berdasarkan kajian Neurolinguitik. Melalui kajian Neurolinguitik, akan ditemukan penyimpangan bahasa pada tokoh Dodo. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui gangguan berbahasa dari pelepasan, penambahan, dan ganti dari tuturan tokoh Dodo. Metode kualitatif deskritif digunakan dalam penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan gangguan berbahasa dilihat dari pelepasan, penambahan, dan ganti. Data dikumpulkan dari dialog tokoh Dodo pada film Miracle In Call No.7. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik membaca, menyimak, dan menulis berdasarkan kajian Neurolinguistik. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa, terdapat 6 fonem pada pelepasan, 6 fonem pada penambahan, dan 9 fonem pada ganti. Maka, proses penggantian fonem lebih banyak ditemukan pada penuturan tokoh Dodo.

Abstract

This study deals with the role of urban space in mass media, especially in television. The purpose of the research is to describe the role of urban space in television advertising in forming the position of the product to the audience. The questions deal with the sign space. Besides visual and audio elements, television also has dynamic movements. This research looks at the role of urban space in the media, especially television. The aim of the study is to describe the role of urban space in television advertising to build a product position in the audience. The questions are about how sign space (ie the space in front of the signer's body) is used to position a structure. The data used in this study comes from a TV commercial in 2013. This study is a qualitative study conducted using semiotic analysis. The result shows that with the help of the codes of the urban space, it was possible to build Wardah as a skin protection, whitening, and moisturizing product for urban girls. The result shows that advertising gives consumers much more information about the products and also influences them to buy the products.
